I have a 2023 too and had the same experience as you. Except I went in for my second oil change at 5000 miles thonking it would be free with the DCT filter. The dealer told me I didn't have enough miles to change the DCT filter. So they told me to pay for the oil change now (the second one) and come back at 7000 miles for the free service for both. I hope that one will be free.
Good job Griff. They should say you get a free oil change and transmission filter within the first two years. I did what you did but my oil change was free anyway because my dealership gives members of our local corvette club 1 free oil change/year, so that decision was really easy for me!

Griff how ya' doin? I've had my 2023 C8 for a year now, and got my notification for an oil change. This dealership did the service, but heres the kicker. I received a notification that my tires need replacement (tech. recommendation). I have aftermarket wheels with Michelin Tires with only 2,445 on those tires. I took the car to the wheel & tire shop i bought the tires from. The guys there measured the tread depth at 8/32nds, a new tire is 9/32nds. Also the dealership told me the DCT filter has to be changed at 15,000 miles, and it costs $900 for the filter only. I don't think i'll be dealing with these people anymore.

The DCT filter fiasco is another disappointing GM experience. I paid for my fist oil change also. Went back with 7259 miles and was told it needed to be over 7500 miles. I told them I believe there was a +/- 500 mile tolerance. They did not agree. I contacted GM and was told her interpretation of the manual was exactly at 7500. I said ridiculous. I said my dealer said over 7500 and I wanted to know how far over 7500. She said manual does not allow for over. Fortunately, on 11/16/24 I received a letter from Chevrolet that for my VIN number (2023), the DCT filter would be covered between 7000 and 8000 miles. Finally a documented resolution. And that's the rest of the story.
I was forwarded this video by one of my subscribers, I want to say be careful with that one dealers will tell you information today that may not hold true tomorrow. If you ask to have the service performed (DCT Filter Change) they can't deny it. What happens a lot of times is they don't have access to the part so they say things to you that sound logical not to provide the service. If for some odd reason you need the service performed at a different dealership you may have issue getting your free service. Unless confidentiality has changed with the system, another chevy dealer can see your service history but not your payment history. So in the system it will show the first service was performed. There was an individual going through this problem on facebook just over a month ago. When it works out there's no complaints but when it doesn't, and there's more documented incidents of it not working out as proposed, people have a bad taste in their mouth. The DCT is recommended for change at 7500 miles, several engineers even stated that many of their corvette loyalist probably wont put that type of miles on their cars in the 1st two to three years but if you've put 3k miles on the car, or you drive the car aggressive, or you launch the car frequently they recommend you change the filter the 1st year. Changing the DCT filter isn't solely based on miles, your driving habits play a factor as well.

@@AskGriff1 So the question now is how committed are you to the change it again at 7500 miles that has been setting the corvette community on fire because it's getting done "too early". My belief and what I've heard from the engineers is base it off your driving habits.... they expected you to reach 7500 miles in 1 year and estimate 8k-10K miles of driving. The next filter replacement is scheduled for year 3 around 22K miles.... if 5k is what you are putting on your car in 2 years I would look at year 4 or the year 5 car season.

How’s it going Griff, love your content, I’m here in Philly, I purchased my 2023 Silver Flare C8 Z51 at a New Jersey dealership, my build date was 2/20/23, I picked my car up the 1st weekend of March 2023, I currently have 823 miles on the odometer. I’m having fuel economy issues, on a filled tank of gas, my mileage only registers 160 to 170 miles on a filled tank, I’m using 93 octane. I took it in to the dealership & they recommended I put it on the highway for a 100 mile trip at 75mph & the computer should reset itself & the mileage should resolve itself. Well as of today it has not resolved itself, are there any other C8 owners having this problem? The dealership said they have spoken to the engineers in Bowling Green, the engineers said I need to drive my Vette more, the only problem I have, I paid over $100k including taxes, I shouldn’t be having this fuel & mileage economy problems with my 2023 Z51. What you suggest I do?
Thanks and I’m sorry to hear this. I have not heard of anyone having this issue. I’d take it back to the dealer service center and push for resolution. The vehicle has a dual fuel tank deployment with multiple sensors and their solution is for the consumer to drive the car more!!! No thanks Chevy. Fix the car and give it back to me in working condition. Make sure that dealership actually has CERTIFIED C8 TECHNICIANS on staff capable of working on that car prior to allowing them to service it.
I picked my c8 10days ago at ciocca and having the same issue as you. In the beginning full gas mileage was showing around 350 but now it’s around 200 with full gas.
@@broderickrook6683 Like I said respectfully check to see if they have a FULLY CERTIFIED AND QUALIFIED C8 Tech on site. They need to check the sensors associated with both fuel tanks as well as the sending units and receivers associated with fuel measurement system. If all that is good and the problem still persists, they need to check the instrument cluster for comms errors. Good luck and keep us all posted on the findings. 👍🏾
Griff, I like your videos content. Are you still happy with your purchase? I am on the fence about pulling the trigger and making the purchase. Will be making it soon, probably be 2023 leftover if that is such a thing or look at getting a 2024.
What have you been up to? I’ve missed you and/or the Vlogs? Is that the case? Yeah, the “First Service” for me was expensive, but I brought that on myself…. Because of all the Transmission Issues and problems throughout the Production Run, I asked for “A complete transmission flush and filter change. I got the car February 14, 2022 and it remained garaged until the stones were off the roads in PA. In other words, late April Early May. Then drove the car for 1,100 miles and in November 2022, I requested the First Service and Complete Transmission Flush and add the 2 extra liters of Transmission Fluid. I hoped this Proactive Service would be best to keep the C8 from many possible issues. So ending 2 years of ownership, I’ve not had any problems thus far. Yes, maybe some say it was too early, but anything to save wear and tear on that transmission is worth it to me. It cost me around $600 in parts and $600 in Labor! $1,200 total and I sleep better. Now, I’m thinking I’ll go in on the Extended Warranty. You can purchase the E. W. up to the end of the Regular 36 MONTH Factory Warranty. Given my luck “NONE” LMFAO. ITS A NO BRAINER!!! Your Buddy!!! K. G.
KG!!!! Man… I’m glad to hear all is well!!! It’s the season of the cold, so the car is on ice for the next 2 months or so. $1200 Bucks is a nice bite, but peace of mind has no monetary value. Enjoy Buddy!!! Griff 👍🏾

I have a appointment Monday July 17,2023 hopefully, my issue with gas mileage will be resolved
thank you
Just got my 7500, dtc filter was at 3%😅
Griff, I like your videos content. Are you still happy with your purchase? I am on the fence about pulling the trigger and making the purchase. Will be making it soon, probably be 2023 leftover if that is such a thing or look at getting a 2024.
Thanks. I’m absolutely still loving this car. 👍🏾
Griff 👍🏾
@@AskGriff1 Hey Griff… I hope to hear this Spring that I’m getting a ZO6 Allocation. I’m #1 to be contacted at my Dealership if an Allocation comes through for any “Z Car” Eray, ZO6 or ZR1.
Hey Griff! According to GM and the owners manual, the first (free) oil change and DCT filter change should be done at 7,500 miles.
I just made the appointment for the FREE service yesterday. It goes in next week and they will be performing the Oil Change and Trans Service at no Charge 👍🏾. Car has 5k miles on it. They suggested doing NOW.
I also had to pay for the first service on my 2020 C8,:then they never changed my DCT filter so that service cost me like $300.00. Then I was charged $550.00 on top of that because I wanted the transmission filled all the way. GM is pissing off many C8 owners by doing stupid stuff like this. I’m done supporting GM as they have never done anything right.
GM is so out of touch, they forgot most C8 owners spend more than any Cadillac owner, but we get treated like we own a cobalt by the dealer.
My next sports car will be a 911, my allocation should be in Sept.. I have owned 3 Corvette’s in a row & I’m tired of GM’s constant BS.

@@AskGriff1 never got free anything for my 2020 C8. They gave me the same line you got about not using free service until later. Free never happened at next service either. Dealer isn’t about free anything.
@@aluckyboy I went back a year later and it was all free. Not sure who your dealer is, but mine did exactly what they said they would.
My first free service cost almost $800.
Three things I hate. Lawyers, car dealerships and my mother-in-law, not necessarily in that order.
same here
lol, that’s bull. They could have done the oil change for free and done the transmission later. The first dealership I went to wouldn’t but the second one did. That’s the one I’m going to from now on. 😊
*Goes in for next "free" service; "Well, Mr Griff, i see here in the system that your vehicle was serviced last year. So AAAHHCTHUALLYYY, we cannot honor the First Service Free, on your SECOND service visit!
Hahaha. Exactly!!! We’ll see what happens.
150 $ is peanuts bro for a Super car compare it to European Super cars.
No complaints from me Bro. I was just stating what Chevy has been claiming since day 1. I’ve had this car for two years now and my total out of pocket service costs has been that buck 50 I spent 9 months ago 👍🏾.
you chose not to use your first free service dude; dont be a jerk and stop misleading
You got scamed
Hahahahaha…. Hope not.
@@AskGriff1 when you go back to get your free oil change they will say the 1st service was done.
I'm finding the exact same sh*t from my dealer in Georgetown, TX. By the time the DCT filter hits "change time", it will be over one year of ownership and I won't get it for free per GM.
I plan on bumping the miles up to the 7500 prior to expiration. If I knew I wouldn’t get close, I’d have taken the free oil change. I have a pretty good relationship with my dealership, so I’m not too worried about it.
Thanks bro good content

I just purchased a 2023 Corvette C8 Z51 2LT HTC in amplify orange with carbon metallic which to me is the new black.
Amplify orange is a more rare color for sure more optimistic and more vivid.
Believe the hype the C8 mid engine stingray is the real deal.
Revolutionary memorable
unforgettable incredible remarkable
The word I’m looking for is “Beast”an exotic supercar. It’s smooth as a cold glass of wine🍷
Fast Furious Fun, stunning design, quick acceleration, fun-to-drive, 495 horsepower, zero-to-60 in 2.8 seconds.
For 25 years I have owned a black and white car, suv or motorcycle, so I decided to change colors to make my car look like an exotic supercar.
Like they say life is not always Black and White and DREAMS DO COME TRUE 😃
