the shot with the seaweed is stunning. Great Work!
Hi Henry,
If you ever suffer from tripod feet sinking, then stick 3 old CD's in your bag & use them as platforms for the feet to sit on. An old tip I got from an old photographer. Love your work!
Great idea with a old cds better then deco on your wall
Buy Manfrotto snow feet I think they're called. then they are fixed to your tripod while you use them
brillant!
Please put the exposure, shutter speed and ISO readings on the photos you shoot like you use to
Hi Henry, I've been following you for just over a year now and always look forward to your videos landing on Thursday. I love your honesty, your passion and love for the landscape and photography. I have tried to comment before but had been unable too, just realised you need an account to comment, der!! I live in the North East of Scotland, if you are ever planning a visit to this area you are welcome to stay rather than roughing it in your car! We have granite cliffs, sandy beaches, castles, lighthouses and sea stacks galore. Oh and did I mention the distilleries!! Looking forward to your next adventure.
“I’ve got this whole bay here to myself” What a great thing to be able to say! Top content mate 🙌🏼
"bathed in mistery". love it! and love your spirit, Henry!
Love that final image, so beautiful. Enjoy Skye, it's a wonderful place. When we went there, we had horizontal rain and stormy winds for most of our stay, but it didn't stop us from enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Absolutely love that last photo of the two photos blended together 👌
Love that last photo Henry. Just beautiful. 😁
Oh man that last shot, absolute class Henry 👍
Another great day out with you and so relaxing. Thanks Henry👍
Binge watching you Henry has gotten me through this winter. Utterly dumbstruck at the beauty of this world and in some cases I pause the video to Be There kind of like you said early on. Please do, do that because photography comes easy for you.
Almost spring time, almost time for me to start work; goodness I can’t wait. Blessing my friend from overseas. Onto the next video. Thanks again.
I have to say Henry, that Skye is one of the most stunning places That I have visited. I liked the first photos of this vlog, but I can`t wait to see what delights you come up with next week from Skye. :-)
Thank you Henry... I resonate to your photography. Good thing! But that last was Spot On! Just a little simple peace to still the mind. I had some simple old man surgery today, and my kid, wonderful daughter 28 is watching the geezer for 24. (Not needed, I'm fine.) But she's just a joy to have around. Makes me think... do you know how many ways your work, I mean all of it, the Photo, the sharing, the transparency blesses all of us? Mighty is all the good you do sir. All righty! Nature... ahhh yes, she's a healer everytime!
Holy smokes that last photo is gorgeous!
Loved all your photos, but my favorite was the second bay one stretching out into the “mist-ery”🤣 It would go so well with the other photos of yours on my wall.
I’m surprised you’ve not ditched the car for a Camper van , loving your work Henry.
Another cracking vid. Thanks
Also really liked the last shot. 👍
Good evening Henry , welcome to my world , as an ex athlete and outdoors person ,my love of this and now photography keeps the balance of enjoying the landscape. I September last year I had 5 days wild camping in Assynt and it was awesome despite the weather at times 👍📸😊
love the last shot out over the islands
That last shot was really nice!
Driven on that road myself from Fort Augustus to Isle of Skye through Kyle of Lochalsh and the road took my breath away too, it is stunning, ask the Wife to film it as I was driving. Didn't go onto the Isle of Skye much though as was staying on the wildside of Loch Ness so was quite a drive up there, looking back wish I had stayed in multiple places. Not sure the Wife will go for sleeping in the car! Really want to go back as feel my Photography has got better since 2014 when I went there. Fantastic photos as usual Henry, enjoy following you on your adventures, if not enviously :)
I got the best ever fish and chips from Mallaig. Plan to go back someday and get the ferry to Inverie on the very remote Knoydart peninsula. An alternative way to Skye is the last ever turntable ferry from Glenelg. Always enjoy your videos and look forward to your further adventures
I so enjoy going on these trips with you. Your conversation with us makes me feel like I am there with you. Thanks for your time and sharing of your adventures.
That last shot!! Wow! Great video mate
As always…. you are a bundle of energy 😃 I’m SO looking forward to your videoes. The last pic is awsome 👍🏼
Skip the iPhone, stick to using your camera. Even using raw files on a phone, the quality and detail is not on par with a dedicated camera. All in my opinion of course! Great video 👍
Henry, forget the iPhone. Just carry the Olympus with you. Since I got my Lumix G9 and Leica lenses, I haven’t touched my full frame Canon. It’s been 13 months. Love the feel and reduced weight of the camera and the image quality from the Lumix G9 is top drawer. The IBIS and lens stabilization is Wow.
I did love the 3 island composition, lovely effect.
Wow Henry you sure are living the dream... brilliant images, I particularly liked the seaweed one. Brilliant video as usual, thank you.
Good work Henry. I appreciate your stamina in that dreary weather. Maybe next time I see weather like that through the window, I will think of you and go out and take pictures instead of going back to bed. Maybe...
Great video Henry, get some rest , we'll all still be here .
Fabolous images Henry enjoy every bit of your journey. Just great
I will watch you every time you put out a blog love your enthusiasm keep up the good work mate
Thanks Henry ! Super views ! And some really good shots..Skye is amazing..
I love your enthusiasm Henry. Keep up what your doing it is just terrific.
Crikey! I felt exhausted just watching you. That breakfast looked great and now I feel hungry but it's still 3 or 4 hours before dinner! I really liked the photos of the lone cottage and piece of seaweed but to be honest I think, nay, I know, the last photo is my favourite. Another great video. Looking forward to the next one (and yes, I know that I have fallen behind but I will catch up). Cheers. Ken
Had exactly the same ferry issue a few years back Henry. We stayed on Knoydart for a few days but the ferry was not running to Armadale and we had to drive all the way round, which is a cracking drive, if you are not in a hurry. Amazing part of the world and you made some cracking images in less than optimal conditions. Not sure we will make it back this year but will try. Thanks for sharing.
Just perfect. Thank you Henry
Top video again! Always hugely enjoyable and motivating!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Living the dream 😊
I so want to visit Scotland, Isle of Skye a must. I'm asking a favour, next time you go, could you take a photo of Flora McDonalds grave, I will buy it from you. She is a ancestor of mine and I'm proud of it lol. Loved the last photo, love your enthusiasm and yes do slow down.
Once again your energy, positivity and optimism show through. I think you are likely to wear your clothes out from the inside - so much movement and activity. Love your work, Henry!
Thank you 👍📷🏴😎
Hey Henry, can’t believe your off to the Isle of Skye, I’m going to be on the Isle for a week in August, so seeing the things you’ve done there has inspired me even more, to try and get some Awesome images whilst I’m there.😉😉😎
Another great video, Henry. Shame about the ferry, but that road is one of the best - I always love driving up to Skye along the sea lochs, and almost always stop at Eilean Donan Castle ( It is my Clan headquarters, after all!) and over the bridge to the Misty Isle. As for the clag on Skye? Don't forget, in Gaelic the name is Eilean a Cheo, which means Island of cloud! Looking forward to your next one, seeing where you get to on the Isle.
Brilliant mate. Great images. Keep up the great work, even to your tired. 👍
Within the Lightroom mobile app there is a camera option that lets you take DNG files which are raw images.
Very beautiful picture's
Another Crackin video Henry, Spot on. I love getting up to Scotland 👏🏻
Lightroom mobile app..! Use the built-in camera and use the Pro settings to alter ISO shutter speed etc. and you can save all images as dng (raw) files. Great video again 👏 👍
Visited that beach last year and it is absolutely stunning. Great video again Henry, looking fiorward to the next one
Hi Henry just got back from Isle of Skye myself. Its been fantastic lots of photos between the wind storms. At one point I think I saw you at the car. Well some brilliant photos enjoyed the video as always. Stunning Place I will definitely be going back again. Maybe next year now tho. 👍
Henry - iPhone (12 Pro and 12 Pro Max and higher with iOS 14.3 or later) settings (to shoot in Raw) are - Settings > Camera > Formats > Apple ProRaw ......... done. Or shoot in the free (if you subscribe to Lightroom) Lightroom Camera App - with full manual control (in Pro setting) and you choose to shoot in JPG or DNG. It's an outstanding App. And even better being included with your subscription! There are many other apps that can shoot in raw, but why bother when you have the Lightroom Camera ......?
Great video Henry. Really cool location too. Loved the images you captured during this vlog. If I ever have to shoot anything in RAW format on my Iphone I tend to use Lightroom mobile app which lets you shoot in that format. Great work. Thanks for sharing
You did make the best of it! Good on ya!
Brilliant shot with that little clump of seaweed. The whole video was a joy to watch. I do believe the Z7 is inspiring you and capturing more of what you are seeing in your mind.👍🏻
Yet another stunning vlog Henry and your enthusiasm shines through once again. I think the "seaweed in the bay" pic is one of your best yet. I know the ferry trip was cancelled but honestly, that drive from Fort William through to Skye is just astonishingly beautiful and much like yourself, I get quite emotional when I'm in the middle of that awesome landscape. I absolutely love your Scottish trips - they are so inspiring and fresh and they constantly remind me of why I love it so much. Keep up the great work and already looking forward to the next video. :-)
Love it Henry. I did the drive from Fort William to Skye via Lochalsh at the end of November, and ,like you, felt humbled and emotional at the sheer beauty of the landscape. When I arrived on Skye I called my wife and remember saying that I didn't know how I'd got there becasue I couldn't keep my eyes on the road it was so breathtaking.I had perfect light all the way, with snow capped peaks, and exactly like you, when I got to Skye it was pure 'clagginess'.What an experience though. Keep up the inspirational work.
Have you tried the north coast of Scotland? Went there with my ancient mother and my sister a few years ago. It's drop dead gorgeous.
Enjoyed the video thank you.
Henry, loving your emphusiasm, as always. Great final image, enjoy the night in the hotel.
Whenever I’m in Scotland, Orkney or Iceland I feel privileged to be there. So many OMG moments without stopping the car or getting the camera out. Have been lucky enough to own a beach on so many occasions that photography becomes a by product but when the photography takes over it is so much more enjoyable having the place to yourself and all the time in the world to capture it. Beautiful shots Henry 👍
Your last picture is absolutely stunning 😍
In your own words living the dream ! fairplay for adapting and overcoming the journey to Skye ! great video ! I loved those beach shots with the clump of seaweed. Stay safe !
Another brilliant real life video, Henry, really enjoyed it.
Another great vlog Henry, but seeing that breckie made me so hungry i had to pause the video and make a bacon butty.
Roll on next Thursday for more adventures from Skye.
The photo with the seaweed really worked out nice! Good low, wide angle.
If you want to stop the feet of your tripod sinking into wet sand, put a Pringles lid under each foot.
Bisto caps will also work.
Furniture castor cup thingies might work.
A Daniel O'Donnel CD under each foot may work.
Jam jar lids, pickled onion jar lids.
Most lids, in fact.
Probably not bin lids, you'd look silly carrying three bin lids to the beach.
Some days it just feels like things aren't working out... And then I watch this! Tx Henry!
Absolutely stunning - thank you for yet another wonderful adventure. I hope to one day travel to your part of the world but until that time I will continue to live vicariously thru your photographic adventures 😁
After taking time off to bring up my daughter, I rediscovered my love for photography as you did, via the Iphone. It's amazing what you can get when you know its' limitations. I've begun shooting again with a nikon d3500, and re-honing my skills little by slowly with the great assistance of sites like yours'. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and joy of the art, Henry. It is downright inspiring!!
There is nothing like a hearty English...er... Scottish breakfast. Yet another enjoyable video Henry. Thank you sir.
Last shot needed a zoom in and then the reveal.............Best of the day.
Hi Henry, great video as always, I did the same drive from Fort William to Skye back in 2019, I felt the same, it is the most amazing drive I have ever done, it’s like you describe and hit me on an emotional level I lost count of the times I stopped and just looked in awe, the views are unforgettable, I was even blessed by a Golden Eagle fly over, Enjoy the rest of your trip, Daz
as ever Henry, that was beautiful, thanks, SO enjoyed your photos of the homeland
Beautiful part of the country always something special to photograph your enthusiasm as always really inspiring 👍
If you get Lightroom on your mobile it has an in built camera app that allows you to shoot raw and you can sync it with Lightroom on your computer.
Love going on those adventures with you and especially to my homeland of Scotland.Just beautiful:) 💙
13:11 is favourite!
Thanks for sharing the adventure… my plan to there one day… to answer your question… go for an upgrade to an iPhone 12 Pro or above as they will shoot appleraw and for those moments when you don’t have your “proper” camera it gives you stunning results… and with a choice of 3 focal lengths… all with a really flexible raw file to edit how you want!! Keep it going Henry!!
That last shot is stunning. Well done finding those compositions in that moody atmosphere Henry. Hope you enjoyed the splurge on a hotel. You need that once in a while!
Beautiful locations, and your images, especially the last one, reflect what you were feeling on the day, 👍
Inspiring. This summer I'm trying to get to the island Senja i Norway. Hopefully covid won't stpp me. The conditions there should be similar.
Great to see you up here in Scotland Henry and a big thanks for sharing your work 👍🏻🏴🏴
Another great adventure. Your love and appreciation of the landscape really shines through. I love how you are in awe of it all. It is indeed such a privilege to be able to experience such beauty.
As an earlier comment, I too would appreciate camera settings on images. It’s so helpful to me as a beginner. Do you shoot fully manual or Aperture Priority? Thanks again Henry. It’s awesome to be able to travel with you as you live the dream.
I really liked the 2nd image, long exposure suited those conditions. Good on you for enjoying what nature gives you.
Loved all the images and seeing the first image, my initial thought was how cool must it be to live in that house right at the beach. That breakfast looked awesome too
I just upgraded from the iPhone 6 Plus to the 13 Pro Max and it does have a RAW setting, which I have not used yet. I took a couple of pictures, but realized I didn’t have it turned on. I have a concert tonight which I will use the RAW settings. Jumping from a 6 to 13 camera you can really see how far the camera has come!Another great video!!!
Really like the last shot Henry! Great video, I always find that Scotland, especially Skye, is a bit like a photographers sweet shop, I get so excited, and like you said, when driving, I just want to constantly stop to take it all in. I'm currently in the early stages of looking at a trip to the Isle of Harris, which I think will be absolutely mental, and may well reduce me to tears of joy when I get there!
Marvelous outing, Henry. I especially loved the bay photo with seaweed in the foreground. How the simple inclusion of ordinary seaweed brought such additional depth and interest to the composition. A lesson well taught - a lesson well caught!
EDIT: Now that I've gone back and watched the vid. for a second time...as much as I liked the seaweed, the rocks added a good bit of interest too. Oh, and I hope you enjoyed your "brekkie". Thanks for expanding this Pennsylvanian's vocabulary once again. I've added yet another new word since I've joined this happy community! :)
Hi Henry, really enjoying the latest and greatest visit north of the border, and this was another grand day out. I prefer the 2nd shot at the bay at 200mm for what that's worth, but that's to say its merely 1% better than the others. Evidently the full Scottish "Artery Hardener" worked a treat and kept you going, and I must admit, and as you found, Mother Nature was having a particularly good day when carving out Scotland! As always, thanks for sharing
Fantastic video, Henry. Your passion and honesty floods through this adventure and it’s a joy to watch and feel part of it. That last image was an absolute peach! Keep up the great work - I’m sure all your followers watched this one right through to the end. Awesome!
Such great images again at these wonderful locations! Another great video, thank you!
Great job as always. Also nice background music that is consistent with the setting. His enthusiasm always pushes me to get my camera out. Well done.
Good video again. It's now a few weeks since you "broke" your D7200, a good and reasonably priced camera. You opted for a top of the range mirrorless. Will you consider doing a video comparing the virtues of each, bearing in mind how you used to give the D7200 such a positive report?
ruclips.net/video/WHuoDqx5o5w/видео.html
Noboddy have seen the broken d7200, only on photo everyboddy can get on pictures on Google, was maybe just his fake story or ending story for killing his d7200 so he can change system, if he love d7200 as he told us million times he buy a used one for very low price, but he have other plan. Never trust so much youtubers, if you like me, happy with d7200 and D7100 keep it image quality is almost same great photos. I not change to mirrorless i happy for nikon and pentax DSLR.
@ I had a d7200 and never really liked it for a number of reasons. Never got the love for it but when I traded it for a d500 that was a different story.
@@lowwhistler_ Thanks Wayne, I obviously missed this one.
@ ruclips.net/video/2QRHQFH0OD4/видео.html
Though the weather good be better for photography, i stil like your enthusiasm Henry. I enjoyed the vlog. Thnx
Yet again, another fantastic and inspiring video, love your work, already looking forward to the next adventure.
Great work and welcome to Gods chosen land 😀😀😀😀🏴🏴🏴🏴😀😀😀😀
Love watching your vidoes. Your enthusiasm for is contagious. Just one question. Do you ever use exposure compensation
