We Joined A Hiking Group Tour At The Amalfi Coast For A Week, But Was It Worth It? - Amalfi Part 1

Bonjourno! This time, we’ve decided to do something new and wander around the beautiful Amalfi Coast in Italy!

We’ll be hiking/exploring around a decent chunk of the Amalfi Coast and its surrounding areas, including the Island of Capri, the Ferriere Nature Reserve, the town of Bomerano via the Pino Gorge and (with a bit of luck) Pompeii and Herculaneum. We’ll even be attempting to Walk Of The Gods to the stunning town of Positano, which is ranked as one of the best coastal walks out of the entire world.
Throughout, we’ll be providing facts (many of which we provided straight from our tour guide Gennaro Pisacane - see below)!
To make it different, we booked this hiking holiday through Explore Worldwide Ltd, which organises small group adventures worldwide.
The Amalfi Coast is one of their best-selling trips, not only because you get to hike around to see some amazing sights, but also because you get to stay with a local family on their Artigutismo, a farm that also acts as a stay-in. This alone brings amazing experiences!
Through Explore, we’ll also have an expert guide who’ll stay with us throughout most of the trip and who can provide years of detail about the area's history and the local culture that we wouldn’t know otherwise.
For our trip around Amalfi and its surrounding areas, we had the pleasure of having Gennaro Pisacane as our guide.
A local of the Amalfi coast, Gennaro’s years of knowledge was utterly invaluable to us during this trip. It got to the point where it felt odd when he wasn’t with us to help translate a conversation or provide historical insight into a location or nearby object we passed. Without him, the trip simply wouldn’t have been the same.
Even though Gennaro was working for Explore during our trip there, he also does independent walks graded from leisurely, to highly-difficult hikes. We believe his knowledge of this beautiful part of Italy cannot be surpassed!
