I've owned both. The Evo CP9A chassis is the superior car in 95% of situations. It's also made better than the BNR34. It was designed to not fail in the toughest of environments (such as the Finland Rally). It deserves to be top of the 90s JDM pyramid - but the BNR34 takes that spot on it's mythology. I will say the RB26 is a very good straight six engine for the time though. Both are great cars.

I still own both, a Palma Red Evolution V and a 99 BNR34 GT-R V Spec in Midnight Purple (only 50k kilometres on the clock), and honestly I have to agree I always pick the Evo V, even my little daughters always choose to go out with the Evo V... Very underrated in my opinion, if you compare the prices of both... I'd rather have five Evolution V's for the price of one R34... Waiting for the 25 year rule, the Evo end of this month but she's a keeper, the GT-R in next year's summer... Maybe knowing the value of the GT-R makes me worried too much something might happen, I've got cars only worth €2~3000 that I enjoy more trashing around... (100HP, two 218 vi's, 114 GTi, GTti,...) Because I'm not that worried.

Man! where is Nakaya the Evo specialist. They've got the Nismo specialist....I've seen the Evo destroy the GTR in almost every battle before this. Something doesn't seem right.

If thats the case, chances are Nissan set up a juiced up press car for this one, because there is no way an R34 in stock form leaves an Evo in the dust on the straight like that.

evo has AYC it makes cornerling greater than other 4wd cars. gtr has ATTEESA ETS it active when rear tires spinning and becomes to 4wd when this system active
That skyline would be worth about 200k if it had under 1000 miles on it now. Roughly. The evo with under 1000 miles would be worth 60/70k to someone in the uk market. Both look amazing stock and its a shame people never really left them stock looks wise
I’m just glad I got to enjoy them back when they were relatively affordable. It’s a shame they’re seen solely as an investment now by some. Evo 6 is perfect on a set of Tarmac Evos and left alone.
In addition to the 34 being 40hp up from its claimed figure, its also the gearing. I raced my mates evo 6 who had a very responsive 300kwatw, i was around 320kwatw in my 34 gtr (also a response build). I walked him with ease. We were even until he had to shift, i slinged past him. He shifted to 4th while i was still revving out 3rd.
I will add that R34 doesn't have just more power, but also more torque, bigger tyres, AWD with FR preference (compared to Evo's FF preference). So in short it's not only faster on the straight, but also in corners (yes, even with the weight difference).

Both are amazing cars, of course.

元エボ6GSRオーナーです 同じ280PSだと思いますが 実馬力はR34GTRはたしか330から340馬力 エボ6GSRは280馬力そのままでしたから加速力はかないません (某店シャーシ台の実測 多分エボ8以降(320馬力 でないと勝てないかも 加速力ならインプレッサのSTiバージョン4以降ならR34といい勝負です コーナリングならエボ6も速いですけどね

ランエボはAYCが付いててハンドルが曲がって行く感じが楽しいけど壊れるのが嫌だからLSDに載せ変えて運転する方がお金がかからなかったんだよね
ランエボは昔から車を買い換える時期になると毎回購入候補に入ってたんですが、AYCのトラブルって少なくないというのを聞くと躊躇してしまって結局買わないままでした

ランエボは7以降は、ACDやAYCのメカトラブルは10万キロまでなら、無くなっていっています。
自分も今はRS用機械式デフですが、素人走行なら電子制御がある方がタイムが出るので、お金に余裕がある人はAYCなど修理した方良いと思います。RS用の機械式デフは運転難しいです。楽しいですけどね。

The Skyline has a bi-turbo inline 6 with more torque at low RPM! The tires are wider, and the HICAS rear wheel steering handles the power better!
