loved the way they made him look so small in his chair sittin so far from 3 interviewers, great camera angles.interviewers so smug too.just like in real life!

I love how every single Trainspotting video on youtube has people quoting the most random, trivial lines in the comments. The dialogue in this film is so wonderfully memorable.

When I first saw this movie as a teenager, I could not understand a damn thing he said in this scene, but I still found it absolutely hilarious because of his maneurisms and expressions. Now, knowing what he's saying, I still find it hysterical solely because of how he represents himself.
Aside that scene is pure gold, as well as whole movie, his little run away in the end is just stuck in my head, for some reason. it's like his trying to got away from a camera angle with those sideway sloppy jumps, like on a little stilts, idk.
I watched Trainspotting at the cinema years ago, bought the DVD and watched it ova and ova lol 😀🇬🇧✌️. This is one of my favourite scenes in cinema. Danny Boyle uses all his God given directing talent to show just how people can appear when they are 'wired' on whizz. Great acting camera and direction and SO funny lol 😀👍
This kiss Spud planted on the woman right at the end was a fucking perfect bookend to an already hilarious scene. I lost it at the cinema when he did that.
I have a job interview tomorrow and I’m RUclips this scene from Trainspotting 😂😂😂... I’m so nervous.. I fear I’m going to remember this scene during my interview and burst out laughing
Surely a performance like this in a job interview would have gotten you a front facing job in almost any industry, at least as a greeter or in a callcentre. Talking about the 90s which had more empty jobs than ever before from the booming economy. Maybe not against some old stick up their butt teacher types interviewing you but something like travel definitely appreciates an over the top sales pitch. Regardless it fitted the scene and is legendary in showing how awkward job interview are, especially for those who want to stay on the dole!
@Maiahi Craignewton is the area where he went to school. Scottish slang is to call the area Craigy. For example I lived in a town called Portobello and we called the area and the school Porty. It's the kind of language someone like Spud would use. Very informal and accurate.
Not actually a real school in edinburgh incidentally. Craigroyston is however. I might be wrong but i think all the main characters actually attended leith academy. Begbie got sent to a YOI (juvie) though...
The first time I watched this movie was on like 2 tabs of acid and I swear to God I could feel the amphetamines coursing through his veins as if they were my own. Great movie and great acting on all parts
As someone who welcomed the dole after college, I can relate to this. There are some jobs out there that just aren't worth getting up out of bed for (ie, production operators in a factory or telesales). No disrespect to people currently doing these jobs, but I probably wouldn't last a month in either job.
Lol, speed is definitely not the substance to take for anxiety/nervousness. Give him a low dose benzo or some phenibut and he'll be good. Also only speaking for myself but most of us into those heavy downers would rather get stabbed than take amphetamines

I always watch this clip before an interview. For some reason it comforts me knowing at least it can't go as bad as this!
It can if you do a bit of speed
@@n8bayonet "a bit" and then you're 4 bombs and 10 lines in a 70h session
loved the way they made him look so small in his chair sittin so far from 3 interviewers, great camera angles.interviewers so smug too.just like in real life!

'in a word - pleasure. my pleasure in other people's leisure' my favourite line from the film
I love his facial expressions and emphasis of random words when he's saying that quote. He looks so proud of himself for coming up with that line.
I think of this scene before I go to any job interview.
He’s speaking the language of God
🤣😂

Spud is just my heroe! So pure, mad, funny, innocent and... spudish... ❤
"Mission failed successfully"
A little speed is just the ticket
Aside that scene is pure gold, as well as whole movie, his little run away in the end is just stuck in my head, for some reason. it's like his trying to got away from a camera angle with those sideway sloppy jumps, like on a little stilts, idk.
I have my first interview tomorrow and I just had to rewatch this.
Hope this helped!
@Gringo She is dead.
Did you get the job?
This is fucking hilarious
The little dance out the door was the cherry on the cake
I watched Trainspotting at the cinema years ago, bought the DVD and watched it ova and ova lol 😀🇬🇧✌️.

Spud- the funniest thing in the entire film. Ewen Bremner, a great Scotsman and a great actor!
"the dude in the chair"
IELTS and TOEFL listening comprehension test
I'd hire the guy.
clever he's so brilliant
😂 “pleasure in other people leisure” will always stay with me decades later
"YUOR DA MAN OF THE CHIYAR"
"What is important is that I am, yes"
Every scene in this movie is fucking brilliant.
This kiss Spud planted on the woman right at the end was a fucking perfect bookend to an already hilarious scene. I lost it at the cinema when he did that.
That's me in an interview. I actually answered something similar to 'do you any weakness? question.🤦🏽♂️
My goal in this life is achieve the enough English proficiency to speak with that accent. 🤔
Still the best interview in a movie ever
I have a job interview tomorrow and I’m RUclips this scene from Trainspotting 😂😂😂... I’m so nervous.. I fear I’m going to remember this scene during my interview and burst out laughing

In the book Renton gets offered the job until he then mentions he is a heroin addict.
I am Footballer and i get nervous on big occasion man. LoL
A wee dab of speed just the ticket man
Good old amphet😎
my pleasure in other peoples leisure
This had me dying when I first watched it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Seen this many times over the past 20 years and I’ve only just realised the woman interviewing spud also plays Francis, Tams wife in still game.
Subtitles guy - you are my personal hero!!!
Tremendas mandibuleadas se mandaba Spud... jajajaja. Un capo y actorazo Bremner!
"Naw I went tae Craigy… Craignewton" love that quote haha

"S'a tightrope, Spud. S'a fookin' tightrope."
Except he didn't talk like that
25 years ago today!
Edinburghers always sound happier and a wee bit more ingenuous than us on the west coast, don't they?
my favourite scene
One of the funniest things I have ever seen.............
i watched this before having an interview
😂 loved my speed back in the day happy days 👍
He can sit in office and take up the phone to explain people can't apply for refund. But I guess he has some other words for it.
My pleasure and other peoples leisure
What's important is that I am yesh
Only to get my foot in the door
1:07 - showing initiative and that like LOL
He talks like Vicky Pollard.

my pleasure is other people's leisure 😄
Mi spasso nel vedere le persone a spasso
People do "get all hang up on details"
"Might git the fuckin joab!"
I did something similar years ago during an interview after 8 coffees in a row
Fuckin’ brilliant
The interview scene (Ben Afleck) in Goodwill Hunting (1997) got the idea from this scene (1996) but it was nowhere near as good.
he should have been given the job ... he was the best candidate.
just got done with my first job interview. Thought about this clip and honestly, thank god i'm not spud.
Why there have to be 3 interviewers?
I wonder if he got the job
Could be like shix
Lol, speed is definitely not the substance to take for anxiety/nervousness. Give him a low dose benzo or some phenibut and he'll be good. Also only speaking for myself but most of us into those heavy downers would rather get stabbed than take amphetamines
Or beta blockers
Try to have this country🤣🤣🤣🤠🤠🤠🤠🤣
lol...why is he sitting so far away from the interviewers? Or was it just part of a hallucination?
Julie Erin tells a visual story
Just his hypersensitivity on speed. Haha.
He's talking Japanise
IELTS speaking test
Female interviewer is Tams bird from Still Game lol
Knew I'd seen her in something but could never remember what.
Hahaha so it is! Great shout mate

That's the only reason I'm here! To see if it was. It is! Ha! Kate Donnelly.
Brexit britain will look like this perhaps.
+Arjun Chatterjee Scotland is in Britain! What do you mean England?
