I think the "county out" post was actually an intentional reference to a video on the Lion King remake, where it's pointed out that Zazu legitimately sounds like he's saying "county out" instead of "count me out" in one of his lines in _I Just Can't Wait To Be King_

That one is literally correct though. Lame Man's terms has an urban dictionary entry just for this person!
2:53
This is a joke, not a bone Apple Tea
It’s a reference to the lion king 2019 where the bird says
“If this is where the monarchy is headed county out”
"cyst and deceased" just completely broke my brain, i sat here for a good long while just trying to remember what the actual thing was called.
*cease and desist.*
the guy somehow managed to reverse it
I am just amazed that they knew both of those words *and* knew how to spell them correctly, yet never realized that this is not what they mean.
2:42 I guarantee this is referencing the lion king prequel about mufasa, and the county out line is referencing the weird way zazu says ‘count me out’ in the photorealistic remake
6:39 And here we see someone thinking something at the middle of the spectrum is bad, rather than being... halfway between good and mad.
Wait hang on, the "County Out" one is intentionally. The Lion King Garbage remake has a line where Zazu says "if this is where the monarchy is headed COUNTY out" because the va scuffed the line. The Lion King prequel trailer was bad so the commenter was making a joke about it.
It's funny, because here in the south of England you would hear a lot of people, including myself, not pronounce the "t" in right of way, instead of the "f". So it becomes "righ' uf way" - not even properly pronouncing the "o".
As a fellow person from South West England, I agree
We should all soup scrub to this chain well

I love "tipity iceberg" and think we should use that because it's adorable.

There is actually a real term in linguistics for this, called eggcorns (after a common misinterpretation of acorn).
I use to think it was getting down to brass tax, and then I was working in an upholstery shop working with Brass Tacks and I realized I was dumb
I learnt recently that most of these are called Eggcorns, which is just brilliant!
6:06 Definitely this one, Jack would be a great torturer.
My fave thing to do with these videos is try to figure out what the people are actually trying to say
I always love it when EmKay unloads a video on youth tube
English isn't my first language, so this subreddit is always a good opportunity to test my abilities. About 95% of the time, I know what the wrong term is and about 50% of the time, I'm able to figure out what the right term would be.
6:55 Now that Paul and season is WHAT?!
5:59 people learning English as their second language are rarely taught these type of rules. Most often it's just: "remember, English spelling does not make sense even for natives, so just learn spelling of each word on it's own without any rules". Basically people are just told that there are no sensible rules and to just memorise the spelling of each individual word. In other words, don't worry Jack - only natives are tortured with this
I laughed wayyyy too hard on the quesadilla one that one really got me, for some reason these things are golden

8:44. I have no idea what that is supposed to be...
In fairness, I think some of this is a failure of "speech to text", compounded by a failure to check the text before hitting "send"....
All these were written by Ricky from Trailer Park Boys.
I wish these were the fault of autocorrect

Is this us defaultism or am I reading to deep into it? :P
i get almost none of these, years of english practice fell against a 9 minutes video

8:34 what was this supposed to be?
it should have been "screwed the pooch" meaning to make a big or humiliating mistake
There's a stupid saying "Screw the pooch"
This is greet. I love to watch M K vid O's.
5:40 ffs, the English language is no more convoluted or difficult than any of the other myriad of languages out there. It gets shit on the most because it's one of the most prevalent, but Japan has three (3!) different alphabets, Chinese mandarin knocks English out of the park, FRENCH is a language with fucked up extra letters and a weird counting system. And that's not counting the many lesser-known languages, like the Algonquian, Cherokee, and other Native American languages that are so difficult to learn and interpret, they were used as cyphers and coded languages in WWII.
Tired of all this boo-hooing about a language that is not any more difficult to learn than any of the other doozies of a language.
Fun fact:
Your not first

I feel like a lot of these are the result of people having mishaps with talk-to-text

0:54 actually, saying acoustic is a common joke so this probably isnt a bone apple tea situation
it's a very unfunny and insensitive joke too
@@wyzololthis is the internet, why would they be sensitive
@@wyzolol by what ive seen, the joke is mainly used by autistic ppl and isnt rlly used in a bad way
@@wyzololit just got spread to far, im autistic and find it funny when used in a clearly joking situation
@@wyzolol It's surprisingly common for autistic people to use it though, I've noticed. It depends on the person you tell it to, much like any joke.
im thinking the "acoustic" post was intentional in the spelling, but like. coming from someone whos most likely autistic, i haaaaate the trend of saying "acoustic" and "restarted." it feels so fucking gross that people are 1. treating "autistic" as a bad word and/or treating it the same way those popular girls in hs did to the special ed class (infantilization, treating them as pets, making fun of them through this behavior) and 2. finding a way to say a slur that doesnt belong to them. if someone with autism wanted to call themselves the r slur, go for it, but i hate hearing the word and would prefer to never be called that in any context. except for trolls cause they do it to get a rise out of people
Paul and Season sounds like the name of some sort of department store

I feel like a lot of these happen from people in the American Northwest.
First time I traveled to Minnesota I couldn't understand a single thing anyone actually said. "Heelorr, howurryaa? Wat wudya leek?"
I recently went to Minnesota cause my sister lives there... I don't. I heard some people who spoke like that.... granted, I hear people speak like that everywhere.
I also tend to hear lots of accents and slurred speech.
