You are one the only people to have read the instructions. There is more then one video that has the jaws screws tightened down before they close the jaws onto themselves.

Hi Rick, I am using the same chuck and lathe combo. Was a little scary learning to hollow out endgrain for boxes and had some trouble with pieces coming loose on catches with the stock jaws. I ended up getting the 35mm spigot jaws they hold much better. Good luck, and thanks for the helpful videos.

Informative vid. I just ordered the G3 and looking for to using it. Also, I would love to know how you achieved the “hand wheel” on the drive side of your lathe? Thanks!

I am new to this and got this chuck for my new lathe. I am wanting to do recess on the bottom of the bowl and confused if I need a special chuck or if I can use this and just expand it in recess instead of tightening to hold tenon. Please help and thank you for your time.
