The way they pronounce Mavuika confuses me too. Personally pronounce it similar to how you did. Feel it might be them messing up a name again. Similar thing happened with Tighnari (tig-nahr-ree) being pronounce 'tie-nari'. Who knows.

I am a spanish speaker and I call her Mavuika. Something like mawuika would be too informal and only for a few regional pronunciations. Remember to get your 300 primos, people!!
