On March 23 , 2022 in CHARLOTTE NC , I SAW THIS SHOW AND THEY PLAYED THE ENTIRE "ARGUS"ALBUM . STORMS OUTSIDE WITH TORNADOES AROUND PREVENTED ALOT OF PEOPLE FROM ATTENDING . MY GIRLFRIEND AND I TRAVELED FROM SPARTANBURG SC (70MILES) TO SEE THIS FABULOUS SHOW . IT WAS AS GREAT AS THIS SHOW ONLY THEY HAD A LIGHT SHOW THAT WAS 2ND TO NONE . A LARGER VENUE. THANKS FOR POSTING THIS !!!
Im just 20 but will be seeing them live next week! Fortunately these guys are still around and I'm able to see them live. Most other rock icons have unfortunately passed away, and I wish I could have seen them live in the good old days
I first saw Wishbone Ash live in 1972, seen them several times since, I love the fact that your 20 and looking forward to seeing a group I love ,and first saw over fifty years ago, enjoy.
I really appreciate Mark Abrahams' playing, very fluid and emotional, he is certainly a worthy successor to Ted Turner and the other players who have filled those shoes next to Andy. Way to go Andy and friends, you are keeping this flame alive with a lot of class and that touch of real passion that brings me back to the memories of 1973 when I saw the original line-up play in the US Midwest. You should be proud of your amazing creative accomplishments.
Thanks for posting this, it brings back so many memories, I was a huge fan of Argus, and maybe this concert is milder than in those days, but there’s nothing wrong with that! It remains great music!
Mahalo from Hawaii , i saw Andy , Martin , Laurie ,Steve in Hawaii on the "Locked In " Tour ,, after that I went out and bought everything up until then, i collect these guys great edition to original band .
Back in the '70s I auditioned for the bass spot in a band doing WBA, I didn't get the job but I have loved their music ever since. Hard rockin and still soulful and melodic. Awesome.
Consummate professionals - so good to see that the fabulous 70’s music is still alive. Far cry from the trash being streamed into young ears these days. Brilliant group and fantastic performance here. A huge thank you from middle-England
I remember in the early 70’s a couple of my friends saw WBA in Ottawa. My friends were absolutely blown away. Orange amplifiers we’re the must haves!! WBA tunes became The fave jam songs at weekend musicians jams. Thank’s for the great performance guys, wish I was there . Thanks for posting on youtuve
Sublime. Used to do covers of Blowin' Free, Sometime World and Jailbait back in the 70's. Still have a play along myself (bass) now and again. Great stuff.
Hard working men. All the songs are wonderful. Now I'm hitting my head to wall, listening Standing in the rain. Andy, and all you players, thank you for the great music over and over decades. Suomeksi, vähäks paras bandi .
@@raunokaskela9666 Hei Rauno! Wishbone Ash oli todella hyvä! Tottakai tolkuton sade lannisti tunnelmaa, mutta eihän me ihmiset säille mitään mahdeta. Myös Ben Granfelt oli todella hyvä. Hyvää kesää! Olli
Heard about & started listening to these guys in 9th grade in 1974/75, also Budgie, Rush, UFO. "Mid '70's Stoner Rock" I would call it nowadays. Not quite heavy metal. I was more of a Deadhead / Allman Bro's fan at the time, but still enjoyed my share of Euro Prog, Zappa, Fusion Jazz over the years . . .
Superb, nice relaxed performance, very tight and some great new additions keeping the old vibe. One of the most famous flying Vs alongside Schenker. Gorgeous guitar sounds as well, not over loud, giving better tone.
How I enjoyed this!!! OK, so only one original member, but who cares? It's quality music played brilliantly. Takes me back a few decades!!! Thx Datflys.
I've often told people my first time seeing Wishbone Ash was at Met Sports center in Bloomington MN opening for the headliner...after seeing these guys walk out in '70s white suits (except Steve, in his denim cutoff bibs and orange and white socks), Flying V, Rickenbacker bass, Orange amps... The first riff from the first song of the first side of the first album...I was a Wishbone Ash fan right there...off to the record store.... Been a fan and have almost all the albums.... I still don't remember who the headliner was...
Clever---I don't remember 'WHO' the headliner was.......I honestly had a moment or two where I thought I might be crushed when that insane crowd of WHO fanatics rushed the stage and swept me {5'3"-125 lbs.) along with it....SCARY!! WA wasn't even mentioned on the ticket (still have the stub)...When we saw those ORANGE amps being placed on stage ---OH, SHIT--could it be? I've seen them many times around the Midwest over the last 53 years and they never disappoint.....😜
Wonderful band and in the 80's here in Brazil a show at the theater of the Hotel Nacional, Rio de Janeiro, Guitar Heroes, Leslie West solo, and the guitarist from the band Focus. Thanks for sharing this current moment.
This Band is a Top Live Act !! :-) , I have see the Band in Rockpalast ( German T V ) 1976, and in Krefeld (Kufa) on 24 of January 2018, I Love the Music
I am amazed that this band is still playing together. The voices sound the same as they did when I first heard these songs. How smooth. I like the song of the Warrior and would like to see them sing with Metallica. There is something about their words and their tone that remind me of the other. Can anyone relate?
Seen these guys at the American Theater in St. Louis and they did 3 encores and didn't play "Phoenix"! Saddened I was not (well kinda) but Status Quo blew them off the stage anyway!! Still like that self titled album tho... :) gotta give that "The King Will Come" a listen though, 'cause MINE CERTAINLY IS!
Buy the first 4 albums, then you can hear the original members. I first saw them February 18th 1972 in Brighton. Have seen them since a few times, but feel very honoured to see the original line up
I like how the instrumental parts in "Phoenix" sound suspiciously like The Grateful Dead's "The Other One" psychedelic tour-de-force. Gotta go back & listen to some older Ash to see if that shows up there too. Coincidence perhaps? Like Miles Davis & Ian Carr existing at the same time doing the same thing but - possibly - never cross pollinating?
So right around 1970 or so I was still buying MUNTZ 4 Track Tapes that were knock offs of records. So, the Label didn't have 'Wishbone Ashe's' Label or info. For years I'd ask people my age if they could recognize the group and the day, I made a BET was the Day I lost the BET, but I found out it was 'Wishbone Ash' I became a FAN FOR LIFE... I really like that Pirated Tape, I was already a fan, I just didn't know who the Band was! - m.
Saw them play in Largo FL a couple of nights ago , very good show, but maybe a little too loud the size of the venue. I grew up listening to them, Argus was my favorite record.
I wish I knew why I *always* get this band mixed up with Spooky Tooth. I guess both originated in England and both play mildly prog tinged bluesy rock. Both were bands I was always interested in but never got around to exploring until recently. This sounds REALLY tight.
A lot of times a drummer will bring their favorite cymbals, so it is possible. They can also add / remove the Toms if they want. Customize it to their preferences.
Have always loved WA but even at my age i could'nt sit at a table watching like in a restaurant.....loses the connection with the band. Mark Abrahams impresses again!
What can you say this is true music that GOD blessed me to grow up with all the great bands of the 1970. Saw them in Miami at 16 years old. Thanks WBA for a great sound and to more great music Andy.

i've been a wishbone fan over 50years and seen them live in 1970s and Mark Abrahams is the best ash guitarist i've heard, but ted turner and andy powell laid the foundations and modern equipment sounds better than 70's, so i might be wrong who knows
I saw them in Exeter UK acouple of weeks ago, the same line up were so much better than this you would think it was a different band. The audience were ten times more receptive this may have made the difference.
I've seen them at The Brook in Southampton many times, which isn't a big venue, and the sound has been heavier than this. I'm wondering if it sounds a little clean and sterile because we're not hearing the 'room'.
I agree. I kept feeling the sound wasn't punchy enough. Kind of weak. Great musicianship though and the somewhat new drummer is doing a great job. I hate to say it but they really need to drop their new stuff, too mellow. They have a catalogue of great rockers that they need to tap into. Supposed to be a ROCK concert after all. I think Andy is mellowing with age. Would love to here Mark Abrams jam more to some of their harder stuff.
