A wonderful parade! Many Thanks MrB! If you look at around 5:25 you can spot (BSM) Howe talk to (BM) Shave about the considerable gap between the Band and the rest of the parade, causing (BM) Shave to run up (5:35) and advise DM Laing to mark time.
    The marches played were,
    (Band of the Welsh Guards)
    1) 0:27-Eagle Squadron
    2) 4:02-Carry On
    3) 6:51-The Great Little Army
    4) 10:11-Birdcage Walk
    5) 13:23-With Sword and Lance (Mit Schwert Und Lanze)
    6) 16:18-Wellington

@delvinrodriguez3341, I was hoping someone would explain that. Yesterday I had to watch that segment three times because I was confused about the back and forth and missing where people came from and suddenly appeared

Good effort by the guards to survive all that time in the summer sun in full dress, including bearskins. Nice to see all the young cadets there. Enjoyed the medley by the band at the end too.

Thank you, from Western Australia, for posting this. I really enjoy your YT channel for sharing the band music, including the names of the various pieces of music, and the pageantry.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the content, I'm not too good at naming the marches but thankfully there's several subscribers who have encyclopaedic minds when it comes to the marches, including Delvin who is terrific at naming them. Good team effort.

Mr. B. Another very good recording. The sound is, at least to my ears, perfect and no unwanted wind noises. Thank you for your efforts.

Hello Mr B!! A Great Baton Production & Nice to see DM Stu Laing Leading The Band of The Welsh Guards through the Streets on such a Beautiful Sunny Spring/Summer's Day. I'm Pretty Sure that's Sgt Jonathon Lockwood, The Man with the Lungs of Steel on Bass Trombone, it certainly Sounds like him, Good & Strong, Delivering that Earthy Deep Rich Bass Trombone Sound that's the Hallmark of the Lockwood Brothers. The Welsh Guard's Drummer is also very Good & makes his Presence known, Clearly Audible to the extent I was looking for the Second one! Great March List too, 5/6 Marches on my Favourites List.
Highly appropriate Time for DM Laing to Signal Mark Time, Right by the Petrol Station, those behind the Band seemed to be Low on Fuel & Struggling to Keep Up!
Excellent Video & Good to see Mr & Mrs Joe Public, their 2.4 Children & their Dog Turned out to Show their Appreciation for the Armed Services.
I can't help but think of Colchester, where we went last Year for The Armed Services Day Parade, wasn't their Band one of the ones Amalgamated or Disbanded before Christmas 2023? It won't be too long before the BA will be Marching to Boom Boxes Carried on the Shoulder, a la USA Troops in Vietnam, at this Rate.
Thank You for Taking us With You to Woolwich.

Dont forget his Predecessor ! His dad is as good . How many families have or had 3 Guards Bass Trombone players in there ranks!

@@sbandsman1 Hello! I can't speak about his Father, or his Mother who I've been told was also a very Good Trombonist, for the Simple fact that I've Never Heard them. I'll leave that to people like You who have Obviously have. I'm only able to give my Opinion based on what I've heard myself. I think Jonathon (The Man with the Lungs of Steel) is an extremely talented & Gifted Musician, however, I think David (The Man with the Lungs of Kevlar) has a Slight Edge on him. In my Opinion, there are Other Good Trombonists & Bass Trombonists in The Bands of The Household Division, but The Lockwood Brothers are the Full Package & That sets them Apart.
      Have a Good Week!

Thank you Vicky, you are more than welcome, was a very good parade, thankfully it all happened quite early in the morning, think the parade set off at about 9.30. So many events to capture during the day. The parade started off on a hill so guess the band were a lot fitter that the rest of us which was why the parade fell a little behind. Was a very hot day though, even at 9.30.

    To be honest with you
    I enjoy all the military
Bands. Just one in particular. The Regimental band of
    Her. Majesty’s Royal
Marines. In my sole opinion they are. The
    Gem in military bands

    • @vickyRoyalHistory
      @vickyRoyalHistory 2 месяца назад +2

Hello Joe, There are Several Royal Marines Bands & they are all Exceptionally Good. They have for Many Years been Acknowledged as the Premier Band of The British Armed Services & Deservedly so. However I must say, as far as The BA Bands go, in my Opinion, The Band of the Household Cavalry on Occasion are very Competitive for that Honour, both on the March & on Horseback.
      Not wishing to be Pedantic or picky, this is only for your Info. Many Regiments & Some Bands are Proceeded by the Letters "HM". In General the "H" is taken as His or Hers, depending on whether we have a King or Queen. Then there are some who have the Prefix of King's or Queen's, Some, like the King's Troop Horse Artillery & The Queen's Gurkha Signals, Never Change no matter Who's on the Throne. I've been Told that the 5 Marine's Bands however, should now be Called;
Band of HM Royal Marines, Portsmouth (HMS Nelson)
Band of HM Royal Marines, Plymouth (HMS Raleigh)
Band of HM Royal Marines, Scotland (MoD Caledonia, Rosyth)[3]
Band of HM Royal Marines, HMS Collingwood (replacing the Band of Britannia Royal Naval College)
Band of HM Royal Marines, Commando Training Centre Royal Marines
with the HM being His Majesty's, while we have a King on the Throne. I made the Mistake of asking why & the somewhat haughty reply I got was that The Royal Marines follow the Lead of The Royal Navy & The Royal Navy now Call themselves His Majesty's Royal Navy. I don't understand why some Don't Change & Some Do or why some just say "HM" & leave it at that, but there are some People who can be quite Unpleasant about it, so I thought I'd give a Heads Up. I'm just calling them The Band of HM Royal Marines & then the reader can work out the HM for themselves.
      Have a Great Week!

Great music but shame about lack of crowds en route.. love the Weksh Guards.. always choose super marches...I used to play tenor horn in a Naval band.. never see one in Army bands....blue/red/blue in my family blood...

There is one Army band that is a brass band. Based on Salisbury plain , can't recall the name . The House Hold Cavalry when mounted play tenors instead of french horns.
