@@delvinrodriguez3341 thanks for your expertise. Remember me telling you I had another favorite band member besides Rachel in the Irish band and my friend, “mr flair,” Lee? She’s here playing with Scots but she is wearing a Coldstream plume. I haven’t seen her recently playing with Coldstreamers🤔she is in last rank playing a clarinet or oboe. Oh; parts of the, “Gibraltar,” march was very impressive

@@charlottecunningham2141 Hello, my apologies Charlotte I've just seen this now after two weeks Thanks to RUclipss wonderful notifications! Are you referring to the principal Flutist from the Band of the Coldstream Guards? Colour Sergeant Rachel Smith? If so, she's not in this video. There however is another Coldstream Guards Female Clarinetist in the Last Rank as you stated. I sadly don't know her name yet. The other 3 Flutists are all Scots Guards and have lower Ranks than Rachel Smith.

It would be wonderful to see the SG Pipes and Drums at a guard change like the IG Drums and Pipes do increasingly often.

The Band of the Scots Guards are always Impressive when they March in Ranks of 6 & this is No Exception. ASDM Scott Fitzgerald has them Nicely Set Marching up Horse Guards Avenue to Birdcage Walk & they Negotiate the Required Split round the Traffic Island & Reform Perfectly. Not as easy as ASDM Fitzgerald makes it Look, especially 6 Wide, but They're Consummate Professionals & it shows. The Band sounds Very Good & are Parading with 3 Bass Trombones today & The Pipes & Drums really Get the Heart Thumping.
Another Special View today is to see The Regiments "Old Boys" including some Chelsea Pensioners. The Scots Guards Regiment always has a Good Turnout of their Veterans, there's a Great Deal of Pride in this Regiment, you can almost feel it & there is absolutely No Doubt, These Men have Still Got it. Drill is as Perfect as they can make it, Well Done Gentlemen & Thank You.
It's also very Nice to see a Detachment of Currently Serving Scots Guards Marching Behind. It's a Reminder of The Circle Of Service The Men of The Scots Guards Give & The "Family" they belong to & in the Fullness of Time, these Young Soldiers will become The "Old Boys" of The Regiment & they in Turn will be Followed by Youngsters.
The Music they are Marching to as they head along Birdcage Walk to Wellington Barracks is a very Special Piece of Music, it's Called 'The Crags Of Tumbledown Mountain' & was Written by a Pipe Major James Riddell on the Back of an Empty Ration Packet, after the Battle of Tumbledown Mountain 13-14th June 1982, in the Falkland's War. The 2nd Battalion of The Scots Guards lost 8 Men Dead & 43 Wounded in that Battle & in the Marching "Old Boys" there will be some who Fought in that Battle. That Music will be especially Poignant for them, who may have lost their 'Brothers'.
This Parade was Special for another Reason too. You may have Noticed that ASDM Fitzgerald is wearing State Uniform today, it's the Uniform worn by the Drum Majors of The Household Division if they are Parading in front of Royalty. During the Parade at Horse Guards, the Honorary Colonel of The Scots Guards, HRH Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent, Formally Retired from that Position & Handed it Over to HRH Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh, Youngest Son of the Late Queen Elizabeth ll & Prince Philip. There has always been Strong Ties to Scotland For The Windsors, with The Queen Mother being Scottish & of course Balmoral Castle being the Summer Holiday Destination of Queen Elizabeth ll's Family. I'm Sure The Duke of Edinburgh will be most Proud to be the Honorary Colonel of the Scots Guards & be as Involved with the Regiment as he can. I'm Equally sure that the Regiment will be sad to farewell The Duke of Kent, after almost 50 years of Exemplary Service.
This is an Excellent Video Mr AFV! it's great to see them all back in the Red Tunics. It looks to have been a Lovely Sunny day in London, Nice Spring Weather. Thanks for Sharing this Video.

Good to see the small boy in his Soldier uniform at 10.38. We have seen him before, in Windsor and at Horseguards Parade. With a degree of instruction he will be on track for a future Drum Major post. Thank you for another good recording.

My Humble Apologies to Drum Major Euan Gordon of 1st Battalion Scots Guards. I named the Drum Major as ASDM Scott Fitzgerald in my Comment in Error. The DM leading todays Parade is Actually DM Euan Gordon. You did a Very Good Job Sir! I look forward to seeing you Again.

I would think Most of the Londoners who are interested in The Guardsmen would know, or at lest know it was a "Black Sunday" Parade. If for no other reason that it's Publicised due to Road Closures. That ofcourse doesn't mean they Comprehend the Significance of "Black Sunday". Just in the Household Division the 5 Footguards Regiments (Infantry) hold a Black Sunday Parade every Year. The HH Cavalry hold Their Cavalry Sunday as well. A lot of Brits outside of London also Travel to attend the Black Sunday Parades as well as Friends & Family of the "Old Boys" of the Regiment. There are Plenty of Spectators & You would have to assume they understand the Significance of the Day. There will always be some who just happen upon a Black Sunday Parade & are Drawn by the Band & The Soldiers, especially so Close to The Royal Parks. But I would hazard a Guess that 80% of The Spectators know what it's all about.
