Folk approves these chords, they are great for making chord progression loops and improv practices.
totally! super fun to jam over!
I'm just starting to mess around with FACGCE and really appreciate your videos on this tuning!
Happy to help! Hopefully this content was a good start!
AUGHHGGG DUUUUDDDEEE THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST YSEFUL AND HELPFUL PEICE OF INFO IVE EVER CONSUMED THANK YOUUU
DAEAC#E next.
? ... basically also a Major 7-9 chord, but without the 3rd.
Too many notes repeat themselves at an octave for my taste, it's boring. -> try instead an only 3rds tuning, that will give you both rich complex chords (11th) with the benefit of being simple and consistent across strings.
(Simply alternating between minor3rd and major3rd to get perfect 5ths every 3 strings)
Examples of this are :
the Em11 [E G B D F# A]
the CM11 [C E G B D F#]
Or if you dislike the lower tension
you can make it EM11 [E G# B D# F# A#]
I love alt tunings to write up and down the neck against pedal tones.
Thanks for the great ideas, I've not tried this tuning, for some reason I've always avoided alt tunings that tune strings up.. Breakage paranoia maybe? Will give this tuning try but might drop it all a semi tone...
Yah definitely one of my favourite aspects as that pedal tone adds so much more extra sound to the overall picture. I think you should try it, it's got a lovely timbre and I think it's quite versatile!
Very interesting! Will definitely try it out, may I come up with a new song. Thank you for the inspiration .🙂
Keep it up! Thank you for constantly sharing your knowledge
Always happy to!
Who the fuck does a thumbs down to this... It's like your parents teaching you to walk and you go nah I'll use my ass
Just discovered your channel, love your videos on alternate tunings. I've been sucked in to DADF#BE since discovering Veneer by Jose Gonzalez. Any tips for composing in this tuning?
Dude you are a really fantastic teacher and this just gave me a bunch of ideas! Keep on posting 🤘🏽
