It's incredible how everyone that drives a Porsche has the same point: "best drive experience"
i drove old cayman once and it was the biggest car related disappointment in my life ;
my gt86 was like rocketship compared to it, and I dont mean power or acceleration, just way, WAY better in every imaginable way.
@@Angry-Lynx Which Cayman did you drive, just curious?
@@johncary4302 i think it was first gen, std version
@@Angry-Lynx And why do you think it's better than a GT86? Build quality? You said not power or acceleration, so maybe handling? Or other performance? Also curious here because I've never heard anyone say an 86 was better than a Cayman (mostly for power reasons).
@@johncary4302 i had turbo 300hp gt86 so it was muuch faster than cayman.
General experience was just poor. Interior quality, serious lack of power, very obsolete interior, bad audio, very high fuel consumption even when riding slowly, etc etc. Only positive experience was very stiff steering rack, best i felt, in the meaning that there was no flex in it other than tires and you can really feel it, and engine sound in interior was not bad with sound coming directly behind you head.
Generally id say gt86 is way better car mostly because its way newer.
I wont say it was bad car or experience but what you get for the money? You can have much better, newer cars for that money, the only reason to get it is for porsche badge and saying that.you drive porsche.... Im sure newer cayman S would compare much better with gt86 but at that point it would also cost waaaay more, so id say porsche value is pretty bad. But in porsche defense you can say that about any other european sport car compared to japanese sports car.
NA is one of those things that you won’t ever understand until you drive a high rev’r. These have also come down quite a bit in price too
This with an exhaust is all a man needs !
I love my N/A NA miata
Either high rev, with ITBs, or high displacement imo.
@@maxvinzi miatas are lame
@@maxvinzi yeah exactly I got a civic si and it’s not fast at all I barely can hit 115 when my brothers turbo suv can do that easy but also my brothers suv shifts at 4-5k no sound then my civic I can just rev out hit some corners and just smile
NA Flat 6 and REVS TO 9,000..... THANK YOU PORSCHE, one day I will own one of these bad boys. Another killer video!
To add to that its got a manual transmission with a light clutch, rear wheel drive and the steering is precise, if this is not the definition of a driver's car idk what is.
@@inspirice9844 so true! The PUREST form of a drivers car 🔥💯
And I thought it was a manual swap.
I was like there's NO WAY this is a manual. Considering its becoming more and more Taboo. Plus how the new Porsches are like Paddles now.
@@zavexheart6935 don’t get me wrong the pdk is absolutely incredible but the Porsche 6spd is unreal

What about my mazda rx8???
I had the chance to ride in a 911R and man let me tell you, best sounding engine in the world.
Low key even made me tear up 😢
Damn, that's a spiritual experience lol
Ride in an LFA and it will make your 911 sound like a prius
Don’t get me wrong imo the lfa is the king of sound... but the GT3 with an open exhaust is not far off. However if you haven’t heard a Porsche carerra GT I encourage you to look into it as it might blow your ears off.
As cool as this car is, it just doesn't sound as good as a modern American V8. The engine/supercharger/exhaust sound on something like a Hellcat or GT500 is far meaner and far more authoritative sounding.
@@Icipher4 whats a hellcat??a fuckin Dodge??lol
Literally my Dream car I have it as my lock screen in all my devices. 100% can’t wait to own a 911 GT3 with a MANUAL trans
I pray you make your dream a reality brother
Porsche will not kill the manual, Purist's and Enthusiasts will go nuts. Me included.
Sadly, according to Porsche, 80% of 911 buyers chose PDK for some reason.
A manual Porsche GT3 is a dream to have #savethemanuals
I am a japanese guy who has spent 25 years in Tokyo + Yokohama and I can comfortably say that I would rather have this over a heavily modded A80 Supra. Sounds way better than any heavily tuned Supra. The only japanese cars that sounds close to the level of standard that the 991.2 GT3 is putting out would be the Mazda 787B (LeMans race car), Lexus LFA and 2002 Honda NSX-R. Fight me JDM fanboys.
Damn, the LFA is one of best sounding cars EVER. You absolutely correct. I'll take a gt350r too for best sounding.
No fighting needed.
You're right.
What about a 2GR MR2
@@maxjeglinski3649 not even In The same class
And tbh sounds like a fart
@@MrDgonzo77 lol a fart I’m dead...sounds better than a Porsche
I’ve driven one of these but with DCT. And let me tell you this, I’ve been dreaming about getting an R34 GTR ever since I was a kid, but driving this completely changed my mind. It’s impossible to tell how great this thing handles, smooth power delivery and perfect stock valves exhaust. A car that literally doesn’t need anything except just to be driven. Can’t say more
I’m typing this with my left hand...
Because your right arm was amputated after a horrible accident? I'm so sorry :(
RIP your right hand
Lol
Wait, what happened to your right hand?
That ain't right
Nice work mate! Great review. I love my 997 Gt3 Manual, use it daily it is so easy. So much so, I've just ordered a 992 GT3 in MANUAL. It is the only way to go. The people that have or order the PDK versions are not enthusiasts or drivers. I go to the track regularly and sure I am slower than a PDK, but WOW I am have so much more fun. Arms and legs working like crazy from 260kms to 50!!
Every person that has a porsche or driven one they know what's good
The Porsche manual transmission is not gone the new 992 is offered with a manual
Insurance companies aren't fooled by backseats. That's not how they calculate car insurance.
Get so excited any time these reviews are put up! Especially a manual GT3!
The Porsche feeling is legit, if I had the money I’d skip Lambo or Ferrari and get myself one ❤️❤️
smart man
Yea a 911+ AP watch for the lambo
So you’re saying since you don’t have the money you’ll stick with the Lambo or Ferrari 😜
@@docmartin4989 uhm yea yea that’s what I want to say 😅
I mean you can still get the Porsche feeling and not get a GT3. That's the great thing about Porsche. The least expensive modern Ferraris or Lambos are at least 50k and they're most likely high mileage or accident cars at that point. However, you can get a nice 997 GT3 or Carrera, or perhaps Cayman or Boxster, at a lower price point, and you STILL get the Porsche experience. It may not be as intense, but hey, you still have it. In fact, the lowest priced Porsche on the market right now is probably in the 5-6k range and that's for a high mileage Boxster that still has a screaming flat 6.
Porsche is my favorite car brand. Always has been, and I finally own one myself! 997.2 911 turbo s. One day I will own a GT3 manual, it is THE driver's car. Btw I absolutely love this PTS color he picked!! 💚
It's for sure the best car that's ever been made to date.
Oh man now that is my modern dream car right there
I would love it in orange or purple
I have driven a well maintained high mileage base model 911 about 6 months ago and that was a great car around the 30k range. Highly recommend any of these cars, beyond the hype they truly are beautiful pieces of machinery.
Would’ve been funnier if the guy owned a Viper 😂
I drove the '22 GT3 at Dream Racing in Vegas in November. I knew a liked Porsche, but after driving that, I LOVED Porsche!!! My adrenaline was through the roof! Granted it had the PDK tranny, but I still had the time of my life driving it. Now I find myself thinking about it when I'm out driving in my 2016 Honda Accord Sport, which handles like its on rails, just wish it had more HP and a manual tranny. But if I had the money, I go out tomorrow and buy a 911 GT3...
Nuckin Futz was my old Neighbors Race Boat! Haha
Great review! Folks who have never owned a Porsche 911 would never understand. They are indeed special ...especially na.
The 911 GT3 is probably one of my top 10 favorite cars to ever exist! Surprised you’ve made a video about it DB!
The Porsche GT3 RS is my dream car , I have loved Porsche since I got my 90 Porsche 944 turbo
The 992 is available in a manual
But only in the basic Carrera trims, we don't even know if they will ever make another GT3 manual
@@joealex65i am pretty sure they will
@@joealex65 so far most of the 911 available offer manual except the Turbo S. I don't think Porsche is given enough credit for keeping the manual alive.
@@jaimykok6533 They said that they are having problems to keep the NA engines alive due to emissions and stuff, i won't be ok with a turbo GT3 like they did with the Carrera 😥
The 991.2 GT3 was available in manual the 991.1 GT3 was PDK only.
I drove one of these around the National Corvette Museum's road course and oh my God!!! It was so fantastic!
I told myself when I make my first bit of real good money, I’ll buy a GT3. I absolutely adore this car!
I reallyy want to see someone drive this car, and drive the 992 GT3 manual right after since that car was just released, and compare the 2 drives. People say the 992 GT3 is the best ride ever. My favorite Porsche right now, just for the looks, is a 991 GT3 RS. The PDK is sick, and I would love to drive one, just to have fun launching and it ripping through gears at lightning speed, the gear shifts do sound amazing in it with a nice aftermarket exhaust. I'm in love with the bigger and more aggressive looking wing on the GT3 RS. But I just love manual cars too much. So I think if I had enough money to just buy one Porsche, I'm going with a manual GT3, either 991 or 992. Loveee all these Porsches so much. Great review!
I had the opportunity to swap keys with a GT3 last year at my local track. Absolutely amazing driving experience. The clutch and shifter was the best I’ve ever driven. And the revs!!! I consistently short shifted at 8200k. I offered an even swap for my track built 12 5.0 but was turned down😪. Next level machine
991 GT3's are the most perfect machine made. I have driven two. One on track, one out on back roads. I remember those drives better than Ferrari's I have driven. Because its literally (like you said) about the driver. Good vid.
Always told myself, if I could ever afford to buy an exotic, it would be this car.
GT3RS is living Life!!!! Car has been PHENOMENAL!!! Very sportbike like !!!
Love how I was literally just looking at this car.
3:52 I felt the same way as a kid. Then I started reading and saw them in the wild and finally got to drive one and oh man I realized I was wrong
One of my top 3 cars I want.
This is my goals car. N/A. Manual. High revving! Aggressive yet subtle look. And the best part like you described, there’s no need to tamper with the car much. It’s perfect as is. Can’t wait to own one.
Manual transmission in a Porsche = perfection
So many people just give up on a manual sports car. Its so much more engaging and satisfying as per the comment in the video about rev matching.
The older I get ( 52 now) the more I appreciate Porsche, as well as other import brands. I've always been an American muscle car guy, but I recently sold my Mustang, leaning toward something non-domestic now.
991.2 gt3 in manual is my absolute dream car
The 991 gt3 is the Porsche id buy if i had the money that kinda of rpm range along with a manual and that kind of driving experience id fall in love
By far the best car you ever reviewed. And you felt that as you drove it 🐐🐐
finally someone who actually understand the satisfaction of revving these things to 9k, most auto journalists never push it to the redline
Love Porsche for making driver's cars and a high revving naturally aspirated engine is to die for!
Literally my dream car. 2018 GT3 manual. In that exact color too.
For anyone who owns a manual Porsche is a man of taste
I agree and I have one
I came for the GT3 and learned about snakes.
Every Porsche I’ve ever driven had been absolutely lovely. Gorgeous cars that handle fantastically and sound great
That’s crazy, I watch Justin on RUclips and I had no idea he had this car!
I'm in the reptile community and I'm happy that you are Shining Light on this hobby! It's pretty unique thank you for this video!
ANY seriously collector should have a GT3 RS in the inventory. Its just a gem
RS is PDK only oof
Certainly almost wish I would have bought a Porsche over a C6 Corvette. But I absolutely love it either way. Great video as always David!
Porsche got this gen GT3 right, minus the lack of a manual. Adding one makes it perfect.
There's a reason why this car is in my Top 3 favorites.
Porsches are something else, had the opportunity to drive a modded 996 Turbo quite a lot and there isn't really anything like them.
It's just a great car.
All motor cars hit different
2:20 most inspirational message ever 😂
i drove a cayman gt4 on a track once and omg it changed my opinion on porsche . i used to thing they were pretty good but a bit boring but i was so wrong that little cayman was so good
This is how I feel driving my 986 Boxster S. I can’t even fathom how much better a GT3 is.
Connor Orrino thanks. That thumbnail is about 10 years old. Gotta change that
Definitely would want it in a manual if I owned one 🔥
Lovn my 2018 manual GT3, best car I've owned hands down and I believe it's going to appreciate in value soon...
High revving engines in cars are always more interesting to me.
Whoa I can't believe this is J. Kobylka's car! I've been following him for years and i have a ball python myself haha. They also have the GT3 touring in a 6 speed, which is a GT3 without the spoiler essentially.
Seen one flying down a highway. It sounded so good.
Automotive PERFECTION... Nothing else to say
There are a lot of Porsche's with manual transmissions.
911 991.1 and .2
992
981 Cayman, Boxster
718 Cayman, Boxster
literally my dream car
The h6s from subaru (mainly ez30d gen 1 and 2) sound great and are extremely smooth as well. The gen 1 will rev to 6500 from factory and the gen 2 revs to 7000. They cruise well for what they are and they really do feel german like. My mini can just cruise at high speed like all german cars but my h6 can as well, something i have never felt in the 4cyl cars. my wrx gets sketch at speed but my outback just cruises and its great
It's surprising how it sounds revving to 9k, it doesn't scream like I thought it would and certainly doesn't sound like it's revving so high.
outside yea, but inside it has that honda "sounds like its gonna throw a rod" scream lol
Porsches have always been my dream car although it has switched quite alot ive gone from cayman gt4s to gt2rs to gt3rs to normal gt3 i think just want a porsche😂
Great video, this is my #1 favorite car on the planet
I can never afford a 911 GT3.
But a 718 GT4 Manual? Maybe one day.
My car revs to 7k and sounds beautiful a similar sound to this car only way to prove that is by me posting a video of RUclips to back it up right . Can’t wait to show yall it
Wow I’m in the wrong business lol. Who would have thought snakes 🐍 paid the bills like that
Just bought my GT3 the other day, might have to keep this one for awhile

people's taste does change as they get older. When I was 20 I never liked porsche, now I'm 28 and porsche is growing on me
GT3s are awesome. Always have and will be. Definitely a car but want to own.
These cars are engineered BEYOND perfection.
I either want this or a 97' gtr. Got 5yrs to decide. Lets go amazon!
you can still get a manual on Carrera and Carerra 4 in addition to the GT3/GT3 touring, though those are turbocharged and are 7MT vs 6MT
in fact 20% of 911s sold in the US are manual, much higher than in Germany
porsche will probably be one of the last to keep with manuals in their lineup
Its crazy you have over a million subs but can't break 100k views on a video. You should get minimum 900k views every video you are one of the best car reviewers
That's what happens when you've been in the RUclips game for a long time
If your getting 10%-25% of your subs to watch your views your doing pretty good
Its only been up for an hour bruh and timezones
He still breaks 100k on videos, but not every video is going to do that.
Car scene has people who are fans of certain vehicles and they only choose to watch certain videos. The other half who like all cars, like me, probably watch what they can since they work to afford a car lol
Simply the best. With $200k to use on a car, there is nothing I'd rather buy.
