    This is one of the best comprehensive cooking to freezing to reheating videos on here. People always show meal prep but don't talk about whether the ingredients are appropriate for freezing and what the textures are like after thawing/reheating.
    That's something that always bothered me about reheating, there are just some ingredients that don't work.
    Thank you so much!

    I'm a big fan of Japanese bento/cooking videos and this is probably the singular, most useful one I've ever come across for a "no-time to cook every day, but still wants to have home cooked once in a while" single, working person... Thanks for being also 1) being so minimal in your cooking equipment as the amount of disposable bags and cute separators used by others honestly makes my heart hurt, 2) also practical with your equipment and methods so we don't have to wash the whole kitchen..., 3) so considerate to show and taste test for us what works for freezing and what doesn't ❤ definitely subscribing from today!

    Very nice, Sayaka! What a good idea to make frozen bento boxes. I especially like the hambaga, you cook it so well, very Japanese compared to just fried raw meat. Interesting with the burdock, it is rarely eaten in Europe anymore. My favourite root in Japan is mountain potato, yamaimo, especially in a creamy gratin with bonito/tuna flakes on top. Kabocha is a bit sweet for my taste and I have never seen it in Romania although it should grow well. But we get lots of other squash, pumpkins etc. I love to add pieces of lightly boiled pumpkin in a salad with mayo and maybe shrimps, had and did it many times in Japan. Arigato again!

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel

      I'm so glad to hear your compliments. Yea, this hamburger steak is really Japanese style. It's so popular for bento box.
      Oh, you like yamaimo! I like to cook it. Recently, I found that frying yamaimo just like french fries are so good 😁
      Kabocha and gobo are my favorite vegetables. I love kabocha salad, so your salad sounds really yummy 😆 I'd love to try a Romanian pumpkin sometime!

    • @halcyoneve
      @halcyoneve Год назад +4

      Generally, rice is hard if it's just thawed instead of heated from frozen. If you wanted to just thaw, you might be better off looking for a substitute for the rice or skipping it all together.

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel
      @JapaneseCookingChannel  Год назад +3

      Thank you for watching my video!
      If you carry it without the ice pack and leave it at room temperature and eat it after the ingredients in the lunch box have thawed naturally, there should be no problem, I think.
      I am not certain how many hours it will take to thaw...

    • @shehuehue
      @shehuehue Год назад +2

      As @@halcyonevesaid, rice is kinda hard (and somewhat dry?) after thawing. I've done some try-outs and this is what I found out to work best for rice:
      Because I cook once a week and freeze them all, I take out the lunch box from freezer the night before I want to bring it, and move it to the fridge. Then in the morning, pour bit of water to the rice before heating in the microwave for 5 minutes at the second lowest heat setting (sorry there is no energy/temperature info on my microwave, and it belongs to the place I rent so I have no idea where the guidebook is 😂). This way the rice is soft and just like our usual lunchboxes, can be eaten just fine during the day without heating it again 😊
      Note: I use Thai jasmine rice, so you might need to adjust the amount of water or heating time if you use different rice type.

      Perhaps 380 ml is a little too small for men or women who want to eat a lot. (Though it is the perfect size for those on a diet.)

    What kind of sugar do you add? Is it some kind of special japanese sugar or just regular sugar? Just in case asking. Also what kind of soy sauce, there are so many options i once buyed one and it wasn't good :( .

    • @JapaneseCookingChannel
      @JapaneseCookingChannel  3 месяца назад +1

      I use light brown sugar. You can use any type of sugar for Japanese dishes.
      When making Japanese food, basically any kind of soy sauce will do as long as you use a Japanese brand, such as "Kikkoman" soy sauce.
      By the way, Japanese light and dark soy sauces refer more to color than to taste. Light soy sauce is slightly lighter in color, while dark soy sauce is darker in color. However, light soy sauce actually has a slightly higher salt content.
      Outside of Japan, some soy sauces described as "dark soy sauce" may have a higher salt content than other soy sauces. Please try to find some Japanese brand soy sauce.

    《 Freezable Bento Boxes I Love 》
    All good and all are my taste!
    *Thank you for providing and teaching.*
    6 are too many thus it may be high level.
    3 or 4 can be better because as person who wants to really make them same, To put 6 ways' methods into brain, can be kind of hard. In my opinion, please slowly teach one by one for a long time! 🙂(they are in more severe trouble because thanks to this duration i studied so hard in till cooking.)
    When my child goes to teenage school
    If i make one of those at night in advance It is going to be convenient. It can be eaten the next busy morning attending school of breakfast. I love Japanese way of bento boxes. All need is that just reheating at microwave.
    Now that i spend hungry time, hope there is 💛Tonkatsu and Grilled salmon Bento box❤️ beside me. Got that root vegetable is calld "kimpira(?)" in JP. Fun name!😂 I was grown eating it as soysauced side dish called 우엉[woo.yeong] in Korean.
    Thanks for always helping my real real making and helping realized my dreamy cooking to turn out as real presentation.
    💛⭐️To end #Stunt Version|
