Lest we forget that "We Will Rock You" was composed by Brian May, as a way of getting the audience involved, and boy did they. Queen had hit singles written by every single member of the group.
So there will never be another Freddie Mercury. True, but there will never be another Queen either.

The Beatles also had singles written by every member ( except Ringo, but Roger didn't write either that much ) and Paul's, John's and George's songs are far more iconic and influential that Queen's band contributions seem like nothing.

Honestly, that whole list could be Queen songs. There's Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, Hammer To Fall, We Will Rock You...so many rock anthems. Queen has a very wide catalogue of songs. Long live Freddie's spirit and music, Roger's epic drumming skills, Brian's insane guitar solos, and John's amazing basslines.

The reason why Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury is so well-loved versus artist or vocalist of their time is that their voices from tapes are brought on to the live stadiums, every.single.time. Both never missed a beat and that's what makes them awesome.
Ah number one, a song that only gets better the larger the audience you have. An entire arena stomping and clapping in time is truly something to behold. Imagine the thunder of a hundred thousand, or if you could find a stage large enough, a million. MORE!!!!!

I like how all of you love rock to the point of thinking all other genres of music are I delete. The mainstream songs do suck in my opinion, but don't put other types of music down.

Queen, and Freddie Mercury especially, is very popular and well-known. It's as household name as Michael Jackson, Elvis, and The Beatles...
But everybody on this planet over the age of 7 know the song "We Will Rock You" and "We are the Champions". I imagine what did Queen envison when they wrote these songs

Agree with the top spot. Have seen the effects of We Will Rock You in full swing. The steel stands of QEII Stadium in Brisbane when the Brisbane Broncos used to play there, literally shook whenever this song came on during a game. There is no sweeter sound.

Your list, Professor Mercury, is good but (the big hint something is coming,) I am a little old school and while I love Brian Johnson, I love Bon Scott more. I also agree with Terry II that Beat It is more pop than rock. Joan Jett's band is the Blackhearts. A song I would have liked to see on WM/s list would have been Renegade. I was so over DDY early on. There are many others, but limited to 10 makes it difficult.
Professor Mercury I love Michael, but he is more of a pop artist. If any Michael Jackson song should've been added, it's "Dirty Diana" (especially live) or "Give In To Me" that was recorded with Slash.

Tbh everyone knew number one would be number one. We've all been singing it since gradeschool during pep rallys alongside with Thunderstruck. But everyone is taught to know the song since birth

Agreed on 8 out of 10 songs.
Carry on Wayward Son is more progressive and not that anthemic, Stairway is not an anthemic song AT ALL and if you say Stairway to Heaven you've probably never heard of any other Zeppelin song, and lastly, Sweet Home Alabama is more Southern rock and isn't anthemic enough either. The anthemic part of it would be "sweeet hooommee Alabama" which isn't anthemic at all. Plenty of other ones would've been better like You Give Love a Bad Name, or something like that
