I agree so much. I think the thing about evil is that you actually understand it better if you're a good person, because a truly evil person spends so much effort life justifying the things they do. Good people have the courage to question their own behaviour and acknowledge their own destructive impulses.
You're absolutely correct! Margaret Hamilton was the same way. She loved children so much and in fact was a kindergarten teacher before she decided to become an actress. She felt very sad that her performance is the wicked witch scared and traumatized so many kids that she asked Mr. Rogers to come on to his show so she could explain that it was just make believe.
I know right she really scared me when I saw it theater especially in the last scene where the battle insues I literally ran out of the theater I was so scared but now I'm not scared of her anymore
@@etienneperley8240 I know right? She really scared me when I saw it in the theater, especially in the last scene when the battle ensues. I literally ran out of the theater, I was so scared. But now I'm not scared of her anymore.* WHY CAN SOME PEOPLE NOT USE PUNCTUATION, PLEASE HELP.
*Amazing how most actors who play villains that cause our hatred and fear are actually, kind and smart people. Pam Ferris is not that different, great actress.*
She’s so humble, sweet, lady completely polar opposite to ms. Trunchbull, the nicest people can play the best villains. She absolutely killed this role and this movie remains an all time favorite for me even now. All the actors, the whole thing is well done. Good story. Pam Ferris should have won an award for this role.
I've always thought she has one of the best performances in movie history. As a child she did scare the bajesus out of me. Now I'm 30 years old and in awe with the whole production
Wow!!! She has the most pleasant voice. Like Julie Andrews or something. I can't believe that's the same woman who terrified me worse than Margaret Hamilton lol
She scared the crap out of me as Miss Trunchbull when I was a kid, but she seems like such a sweet lady and it makes me smile to know how much fun she had playing the part.
She was so good in this film. All the cast were but she literally embodied Trunchbull and everything perfectly from my imagination first time reading the book
Omg i saw this movie in theaters when I was 7 her character traumatized me. I'm 34 now and decided to look her up. She's so adorable and beautiful here. 🥰🥰😭
Pam seems like a very nice and kind human being that's not the case with some actors sometimes they are actually exactly like their characters in the movies so I'm glad that this is not the case here I think she pulled off the role of the Trunchable very well
She definitely looks different then Agatha Trunchbull the makeup artist did a fantastic job. I love the movie and the book I was a book fanatic like Matilda so my mom without hesitation got me a used copy of Matilda as a birthday present I didn’t care it was used? I was just happy to have it and she got me a few other by him.
I am very humble as well and I can tell my husband appreciates that. But he dated other women before me who used him and took advantage of him and so sadly he gets angry and bitter sometimes and worries that I will leave him. So I have just learned to accept it since I know why he feels that way. I just wish I could have saved him from everything he had to experience before he met me ❤
Miss trunchbull was one of the most funniest villains of English Literature.. the attitude, the cake, the sweaty black hair..you could the role was a test of character..AND SHE HAS CHARACTER 😂🤣
When I was watching that show, I found myself getting really nervous for some unknown reason and it wasn’t until I googled the cast did I realize that she was Ms trunchbull! She played that role to the point where my subconscious told me to run even as an adult 🤣
Greatest character of child literature, she portrays not only the villainy so well, that you are scared of her. But at the same time you see the woman who is insecure, angry and throwing her own problems on innocents to feel some semblance of pleasure that she hasn't got from the Olympics or the personal relationships in her life. Great acting by far the best of the film
Honestly she played that character incredibly well, like she looks like this?! She was absolutely frightening and ugly and manly like the role called for. Never knew this
I’ll be honest I was 6 when I saw Matilda for the first time it was May 2000 in my kindergarten class and I thought how Pam Ferris looked in Matilda was how she looked in reality, I thought she looked like that and was mean like how she was in Matilda. I was thinking Hollywood casts people who look and act like that? But when you’re six you have no idea of the on goings in Hollywood.
My mom tells me that sometimes they make the actress or actor look more ugly like bring up their ugly features more than the beautiful features out. Then you see how they look...its like Pikachu shocked you because its surprises you.
I miss the times talk shows only included nice frizzy haired granny host with very soft voice and beautiful manners and only two couches with nice detailed background..
She’s so humble and soft-spoken. Pam Ferris seems like a wonderful person. They do say the nicest actors make for the nastiest villains.
So true that is. Playing a character that is opposite of you is like having a unique ability.
Jack Gleeson-Joffrey from Game Of Thrones
Jeffrey Dean Morgan-Negan from the walking dead
Thomas Wilson-Biff from Back to the future
Tom Hiddlestone-Loki from MCU
Helena Bonham Carter-Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter
To name a few who plays villains yet are actually nice to the fans
It's true. Clancy Brown and Patrick Kilpatrick are perfect examples

Ms Trunchbull still scares me and I'm 44! Great actress. Great movie.
I know right she really scared me when I saw it theater especially in the last scene where the battle insues I literally ran out of the theater I was so scared but now I'm not scared of her anymore
We're all victims brotha she still scares me too and I'm 35 😂
Classic villain

Pam Ferris played a great role in Matilda as Principal Ms Trunchbull. great movie.
OH.MY.FREAKING.GOD, THIS IS HER?!?!?! She looks sooooooooo freaking different.
She’s so elegant and pretty.
She’s so beautiful!!
Yeah but I can still see it lol it’s in her eyes
She's not scary
I mean the only thing different is her hair🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
This woman needs to be in the hall of fame
*Amazing how most actors who play villains that cause our hatred and fear are actually, kind and smart people. Pam Ferris is not that different, great actress.*
Like Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter played by Imelda Staunton.
Speaking of Harry Potter, Pam Ferris was also Aunt Marge in the third film.
Margaret Hamilton was the same way
Agreed! Jack Gleeson as King Joffrey was another example.
Her transformation as Trunchbull is just as insane as Ledgers Joker lol
Yes, very underrated!! She's a genius
Reads like a joke but is totally true lol
Her voice is so calming
Pam Ferris is a gem and that interviewer is doing a brilliant job of making it so casual!

I'm actually genuinely surprised to hear she didn't. That whole performance was quite Oscar-worthy, imo.
Ain't no one else who plays that roll better than Pam! remember that!
She’s so beautiful omg
I've always thought she has one of the best performances in movie history. As a child she did scare the bajesus out of me. Now I'm 30 years old and in awe with the whole production
The best part in the movie for me is when se says "why are all these woman married" I cried laughing.
😂 I still love that line
LOLL
She understood her assignment 👏🏿👏🏿
She pulled that role off perfectly!
She's my favourite comedic/villain character EVER!
Beautiful and gracious, the wonderful Pam Ferris. A treasure to say the least.
She's so lovely.
Her performance was legendary she’s a great actress.
Wow!!! She has the most pleasant voice. Like Julie Andrews or something. I can't believe that's the same woman who terrified me worse than Margaret Hamilton lol
Why is that woman called Ms Trunchbull terrifies you?
@@anahimedina2505Because she's scary and evil lol She is basically a Gestapo officer.
Exactlyyyyy…definitely gave me Julie Andrew’s princess diaries vibes.
It’s like looking at 2 different people: one’s a HUGE TYRANT, and the other’s a sweet & beautiful lady
She is still fat though!
She used to scare me SO much when I was little so it's lovely to see what a nice lady she is.
Miss Trunchbull AND Harry Potter's Aunt Marge. This woman is an icon.
Didn’t realize that was her in Harry Potter!
Wait, WHAT?
@DTOM yes she is indeed Harry's aunt who floats out the window
Yes indeed! Pam Ferris has been the victim of not just one but two magical children of British children's literature 🤣
What a marvelous actor she is.
She did such an amazing job in the role.
For some reason, a few minutes in to this interview and I’m thinking “Adele Vibes” in my head. Beautiful, kind, well spoken. A legend in this movie!
Omg I always wondered if she really looked like that in real life. She looks like a lovely woman. She did such an amazing job
What a Beauty✨. I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing The One & Only Mrs.Trunchbull.
Glad I’m not alone there they had several different choices, but I’m glad they chose her to play Miss. Trunchbull.
She played the hell out of Ms. Trunchbull. Even though she was a villain can't deny her acting in that movie. She did a hell of a job❤❤❤
Incredible to see how kind and humble she's in real life, unlike in the movie.
She scared the crap out of me as Miss Trunchbull when I was a kid, but she seems like such a sweet lady and it makes me smile to know how much fun she had playing the part.
It's good to know that the actress is so nice and caring, must have been so hard for her to play a horrible person
Awwww she seems like such a sweet lady
she is so beautiful and attractive woman wow, greetings to her hope she's doing well she was amazing in every role she did
I did a double take whilst viewing! What an iconic and very wonderful woman!
She was so good in this film. All the cast were but she literally embodied Trunchbull and everything perfectly from my imagination first time reading the book
Omg i saw this movie in theaters when I was 7 her character traumatized me. I'm 34 now and decided to look her up.

What a great interviewer, she is really enjoying it too 😄
Pam ferris is very sweet she so different from the movie I think she is very nice woman
Absolutely amazing as Miss Trunchball.
Fantastic character actress. Her body of work is brilliant.
She looks stunning here.
She nailed that role I was watching the movie just and can't stop laughing 😂
Shes so pretty
By God, I just love her here! Amazing performance, still love watching it as an adult!
She is Legend incarnate!!! My favorite portrayal of The Trunchbull to date, movies, musicals and all. I think I'm a close second on stage. :)
She looks different in real life. Her as Miss trunchbull was scary for me.
OMG Pam is pretty, sweet, humble, well spoken... very far from her role from Matilda. Amazing.
The most kind actors make the best villains. She reminds me of Ann Dowd who plays Aunt Lydia in Handmaid’s Tale.
Awesome
She definitely looks different then Agatha Trunchbull the makeup artist did a fantastic job. I love the movie and the book I was a book fanatic like Matilda so my mom without hesitation got me a used copy of Matilda as a birthday present I didn’t care it was used? The children hugging her between takes is the sweetest thing ever 🫠🥰
Her husband is lucky man. She is very humble.

What a sweet hearted woman.
Woah. This is her for real? She looks so different. 😱
She was brilliant in this movie and so underrated how funny she is. I'm Irish, so it is mad hows she's from Wales.
i love her 🥰
darling buds of may!!!
Tnx for rhe movie pam
Watching Pam's acting made me scared and dislike her means she was a great actress! She did a great job.
I just watched Matilda which was a 1996 film.
Miss trunchbull was one of the most funniest villains of English Literature.. the attitude, the cake, the sweaty black hair..you could the role was a test of character..AND SHE HAS CHARACTER 😂🤣
There were many funny deliveries from her but my favourite delivery was probably "A carbuncle a blister a festering of pustule of malignant ooze" 😁
Such a legendary character Ms Trunchbull
I noticed her in Call the midwife. She is still an amazing actress!
When I was watching that show, I found myself getting really nervous for some unknown reason and it wasn’t until I googled the cast did I realize that she was Ms trunchbull! She played that role to the point where my subconscious told me to run even as an adult 🤣
When Shes Not Trunchbull Shes A Real Sweetheart 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I love Pam Ferris.
I loved her as Trunchbull because she was funny/scary.
Pam played two iconic badass legendary villianesses Agatha trunchbull and Marge dursley
Pam Ferris was hilarious in "Holmes & Watson".

I love how she tried to stay in character off camera but the kids didn’t let her lol love how the kids and trunchbull made friends in real life
"Hop to, hippity hop! The entire school will go to the assembly room, immediately!"
We all know Pam Ferris in the UK from her TV work and her motherly roles so we knew what others would have to find out...
Honestly she played that character incredibly well, like she looks like this?! She was absolutely frightening and ugly and manly like the role called for. Never knew this
The way she played this is just raw as Cruellas role both played this to the tee
Bruh I swear when I saw the thumbnail . I did a double look. Look nah that ain’t her
Such a nice lady😍
Que doce mulher.
People who play the bitchiest characters are usually the most wonderful people.
She worked with Danny DeVito again on Death to Smoochy
She will always be Aunt Marge to me so gorgeous 🥰❤️
She's so different in the movie Matilda hahaha
That wasn’t her real face in the movie, this was the work of excellent makeup artists.
I’ll be honest I was 6 when I saw Matilda for the first time it was May 2000 in my kindergarten class and I thought how Pam Ferris looked in Matilda was how she looked in reality, I thought she looked like that and was mean like how she was in Matilda. And I thought Trunchbull was played by Penn Jillette but instead it’s this sweet, pleasant lady
Vừa vào đã nổi cả da gà 藍giọng a Phúc hayyy quá, mong sẽ tiếp tục cover ạ ❤
She so sweet and lovely in real life compare to playing a mean, violent women in Maltida
She is an amazing actress, of course she is not same like Trunchbull in real life.
Love ya 😘
Que señora tan hermosa dulce. Totalmente diferente al personaje increíble
People remember Ms Trunchball but she's also Auntie Marge in Harry Potter 3. Pretty much the same character honestly.
She seems so sweet!! ❤
❤️❤️❤️⚡
It's so saddening to think about, the kindest people can act like the meanest people because it was probably shown to them.
I want to watch this. But I don't have time so I saved it.
Wow, I didn't know the Trunchbull had THAT much makeup. The artist turned Pam into THE formidable opponent for Matilda.
Pam Ferris she played a great role in Matilda as Principal Ms Trunchbull. great movie.

Shes a beautiful woman. With an amazing accent
2 harry Potter queens Emma Thompson and Pam Ferris both played the iconic badass legendary villianess Agatha trunchbull
