Not true. Pick either republic or separatist. The republic gives you the fighter number advantage and better fighters and the separatists give you just the fighter advantage. But separatist give you access to dreadnought Providence's which are twice as large as the chimaera as well as the most important game piece here. The subjugator class and their massive ion cannons which could disable massive chunks of thrawns fleet immediately, the republic gives you the sphat lasers in the venator hangar bays but more importantly true dreadnoughts like the mandator line as well as the early imperator, victory and tector star destroyers meaning you have equal ships but a 10 to 1 advantage.
I should add, picking the imperial fleet would work but Thrawn will know every possible tactic you could use with those ships so it wouldn't be as helpful but again 10 to 1 advantage you would likely win. The rebel fleet is the only one you have a high chance of losing as most rebel ships are small escort vessels so you wouldn't be able to go head to head with thrawns capital ships and the rebel capital ships are limited to the Mon cal ships which can take a beating sure but don't have the firepower output to succeed.
