❤
Thank you
Prettyface live 🖤🖤
What a talent very sad how it went down.....Missing Chad great person.
this is one of my favorite albums of all time, the songs are so cohesive and blend one into the next so perfectly you couldn't move them out of order or you'd ruin the building and falling emotions. I remember seeing them many many times while I was in high school, and would hang around after and the keyboardist and drummer would always look for me, o n e time (ome of the greatest events in memory) one time after the show ended the drummer immediately jumped off stage and slamed a backstage pass on my leather jacket,, partied with those animals all night, I was 16, amazing. And to this day, the yellow House of Blues patch is still proudly displayed exactly where it was placed. this concert footage has me in tears, because I saw them in 01, probably 10 times within the next few years. then they fell apart. That was like the beatles breaking up to me. so much potential.
God Damn, Cam is one of thee most underrated and forgotten about vocalists in metal ever IMHO. If I was to build a super group. with (out) a single hessitation *that guy* is my singer.
RIGHT!?!? It’s record quality!! His ability to keep it going throughout this whole show too is incredible.
I love Corey Taylor but from like the second song in any live show he’s just shouting yaryaryayryaryar with zero growl.
Cam is a legend.
Chad Hanks and Bryan Ottoson rest in peace and we miss you
Happy 22nd anniversary of one best industrial metal albums of all time
I went to the release party at down in the valley and then this show. Made me feel really proud to be from MN. This album is fucking killer. AHC was monumental in my late teens and I wish they could’ve continued
Fuck yeah. Same here. I would go to all their MN shows in 2001, I have most, if not, all of them filmed. I even have footage of the Down in the Valley signing. I'll post a clip some day.
Hell yes I was at both too I still have the poster they signed for me at the down in the valley cd release
yeah, well we got 3 albums out of them, the third one I only found out about around 4years ago even existing, I was shocked and frothing at the mouth all at the same time as I had heard zero noise about it at all, like it dropped in the night and no one noticed. It didn't disappoint either !
This shit hit better on the subs better than any rap song
By far the greatest album of all time nothing else compares 🤘🏻🪖
Absolutely!
A masterpiece
Too bad they couldnt keep it going in later releases. This is a great album!
A legendary album
I was at the Japanese show in china
If this album would have came out in '99 they would have been like System Of a Down/ Slipknot huge
Had to look these guys up again because it's been far too long, but I remember this show. I also remember seeing them and Static X (separately) at The Rock in Maplewood, MN. Ah, the good ol' days.
Ah man, this would be fucking sick to have on DVD!!
Burn it to a DVD!
The energy on that stage is insane
I was there for that show. I was about 5 people back from the footage on the floor.By far the best live show I've ever seen.
I saw them in a club, maybe around 50 people, or less in the crowd. It was 2013 in Delaware.... Nothing like the crowds here in MN. I miss the charge.
I used to be buddys with Chad!!Rip..Sad they are probably done. They were sick industrial metal!!
So overlooked,so forgotten one of the best albums ever defo top 10 what a MASTERPIECE
The intro music sampling Just So You Know was beautiful and a very nice touch.
By far one of my favorite albums
Great upload! This band never got the credit they deserved. Saw them at UK Ozzfest way back in 2002, thought they were outstanding. I sacrificed most of SOADs set to see Head Charge, but it was worth it! They were very underrated at the time; the big question is why?!
Raising my cup once more to Chad, Bryan and Derek
This is absolutely unbelievable! Pure gold!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Love these guys so much, theyre how i came up with my YT username 17 years ago. I remember seeing the tins of times at bars and clubs in the Cities and Duluth before they were signed. MN had such a great metal scean back then. Lots of great local bands.
And how I came up with my second accounts username because why change a good thing lol
Greatest lineup IMO. Was lucky enough to witness their insanity twice in Michigan. Club Soda in Kalamazoo and Ozzfest at Pine Knob Amphitheater in Detroit. Missed the show in Omaha, NE a few years ago. Truly one of my favorite bands ever. To the remaining members my deepest sympathies and best wishes... AHC 4 life!!!
I remember seeing a promotional photo of them in Circus magazine during my senior highschool year in 2000. I looked at their band photo & I know this sounds hard to believe but I knew exactly what their music is after looking at this photo in this magazine for less than a minute. After I soon bought their debut album I pressed play & yep my gut feeling was right, this album is really heavy industrial metal with many other genres mixed in. I was however surprised how solid this album is. Every song flows together perfectly. The song order is perfect. I don't skip any songs. Every band member shines equally well. This is 1 of the greatest industrial metal albums ever made. Its as great as Street Cleaner or Psalm 69❤🤟
That's awesome! I love hearing everyone's story about how they were introduced to AHC. I was lucky enough to see them in the Trepenation era and watch them come-up as a major label band. They were always down to earth and talked to all the fans before and after shows. Always nice and took care of us fans. I miss those days. So glad I filmed every show I went to and I'm happy I can now share them with everyone via RUclips. Stay tuned for more soon!
@@mattzvidz I finally heard Trepination a few years ago. The War of Art is just that era fully realized with richer fancy fuller production. Most of Trepination's songs are better in The War Of Art but I enjoy the original Pretty Face more.
Have you seen that one old interview with their bassist where the interviewer asked "did you know the band African Head Charge exist??" their bassist laughed then said "yeah haha I found that out , its SO hard to be original." ?? He's right, creating an original band name has to be one of the hardest tasks for any band in any genre to do.
shoutout godflesh tho my Ministry of choice is Filth Pig
Im a huge nu metal fan (40 years old), somehow missed these guys back in the day. Found out about them last year. I'm glad i missed them the first time around so I could have some kick ass new nu metal to listen to now. This is everything that modern music is missing. Thank you so much for posting this!
Most underrated nu metal band of all time.THese dude's kick so much ass live.
Thank god for this shit running through my head all of high school
I've listened to these guys a bit over the years but recently they started showing up on my streaming station an has made me obsessed. Been listening to them nonstop the last few weeks, it's really helped me get through with a massive depressive episode better than anything has yet. And while I never got a chance to see them live, stumbling across this has made me infinitely happy! The closest I will ever come to seeing this lineup live and it looks an sounds amazing for it's age. Thank you so much for uploading this, really is a badass show 🤘🤘🤘
That's great! Music heals! I hope it continues to help you heal. I'll upload more Head Charge footage I filmed sometime soon.
My life was never the same after this night. ♥️
Holy hell, what an upload. Thank you!
Amazing footage 👏 brings back memories of the IOWA tour. AHC stole the show.
And Cameron stole the guitars
Holy shit I was at this show! Everyone got a special lanyard that was good for a free copy of the album at Down in the Valley. Awesome show!
Does anyone know who opened for this show? Details are kind of hard to find but Cameron says it was local bands. Was it Black Flood Diesel, With and someone like Nuisance Crew?
2 Ton Crutch, Stigma, Smilin Liar and Black Flood Diesel
All bands were filmed
@@mattzvidz Thanks for the info!
Amazing! Thank You!
Long live to AHC.
This is incredible man! Brings back a lot of memories!
Minnesota’s finest! I’m From Minnesota and saw them in St. Cloud and the cities a bunch growing up! Great times 🤘
Damn I miss these guys. They were the best of what that dismal time in music had to offer, and I'm still waiting for something even remotely acceptable for this massive void.
AHC and Otep in Gallup NM? It was beyond disturbing...it was AHC at their finest-as always.
Thanks for this.
Awesome band. I seen them at Phoenix Hill on the Head to Head tour. Cameron came out on stage with a mop handle. When there set kicked in he broke it on stage and pieces went flying into the crowd. I have 2 pieces of the destroyed mop handle to this day lol.
God, I love that video. I had so many copies back in the day from Sickness1 and the band.
I am so glad that can see this. Love this band.
Head Charge rules! I'll be sharing more footage soon
@@mattzvidz great!
1 of the Best shows Eva… I was in federal prison and did not get out until September of that year I was going to see them and in cali when they recorded the CD
THIS IS PURE GOLD!!! THANK YOU 🙏
Some of the fiercest mosh pits, most insanely explosive, intensely melodic, and destructively constraining of any band- ever. They didn't give a $hit where they were-it was always more than anything, anyone had ever seen. 20 years later I am still loathed by any remaining neighbor regarding my indiscriminate, erratic, and deeply troubling habit of playing this CD at any and all hours. Blissfully disturbing enough to soundly offend yet offensive enough to ward off retaliation. I like that.
Snot Hedpe & American head charge is the only nu metal bands I claim.
Holy shit. This is fucking amazing. Thanks for posting. First live footage I’ve ever seen of Nothing Gets Nothing and Breathe in, Bleed Out.
The stage dynamics and flow cannot be taught here. The movement is off tilt yet synchronised. This is rare. I saw these guys twice supporting slipknot and rammstein in manchester in 2001-2002. What a band. If you have time to check my acoustic originals, please do
So amazing!!!!
THANK YOU!
0:12:44 - Pushing the Envelope

It was something evil and Beautiful and deadly
Incredible work.... Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Thank you for watching! Be sure to subscribe, more Head Charge videos are on the way.
@@mattzvidz already subscribed mate. Was there ever a trepanation release gig?
@@Painkiller65 Great! Thank you! Yes, I believe that took place in July of 1999. The only recording I've come across is pretty distorted. I hope a better recording will surface some day.
@@mattzvidz hope so too. Would love to hear a show from that era. Only discovered them 10 years ago. I also managed to film a show. I should upload it sometime.
@@Painkiller65 I have about 8-9 shows from the '99-'00 (Trepanation) era. I'll try upload some this winter when I have more time. Awesome! Which show did you film?
This is fucken wild!
I remember that show... The pig heads.
Um dos shows mais fodas que já assisti!!!!! Que energia do caralho
Thank you man! This is awesome
OMG. I was at that show. I have literally got head to toe goosebumps right now. Thank you SOOOO much for this. I can't even put into words how much this means. Thank you, Thank You. Lemme buy you a beverage sometime. Cheers bud. I'm a hour south of the twin cities near a lake and a cornfield. lol.
i cried a little. not gonna lie. thank you
That's great! Thanks for watching! More Head Charge vidz are coming up.
@@jizmoglass4202 I’m listening now with tears rolling down my face. It was a terrible time in my teenage life and this show was like dying and going to heaven
Nice
@@JohnWayne-vf5bs thanks!
@@modifidious are you a fan of slipknot
@@JohnWayne-vf5bs yes
@@modifidious that's awesome so how did you heard of them
@@JohnWayne-vf5bs a friend told me about them
You should release a 2001/2002 slipknot video for iowa's 20th anniversary
@Nu Metal 4Ever why?
I uploaded that show on my kerrys rarities channel. Thats as close as you will get
@@Anthonybchannel which one?
@Nu Metal 4Ever BOOOOOOOOOO!!
@Derrik Jourdain 98?
Korn were my fav band back in 99/00 but I have to admit if I had heard the whole of "The War of Art" instead of just "Just So You Know", I would switched allegiance to AHC. Mudvayne was too much screaming not enough singing and too many progressive weird time signatures. Slipknot was too fast and intense, too ADHD. AHC got it just right. They were the APEX of NuMetal. I can't believe how "heavy music" has devolved over the past 20 years. Tallah are okay but it's too extreme, it's like slipknot version 2.0.
AHC and Sevendust are the two best bands of the nu metal era…fuck the rest
Agreed although I would substitute Korn for Sevendust.
