Annie Lennox is an icon and legend - a true artist. Every vocal you heard on this track was her. She does most of the vocals, lead and background, in all her music This wasn’t 80s. She won the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Grammy for this song in 1996.
No offense to Jon but this is definitely a case of a big difference in emotional awareness. I think Dolly could sense that there is a great sadness to this song. The lyrics and video are very abstract but she definitely sensed that vibe. She also sensed that Jon didn't pick up on it and didn't want to ruin his good mood cuz it's sad. Just unfortunate that I felt like she didn't react fully because of that.
Nobody ever reacts to Annies song 'thorn in my side' which is a great song to get up and dance too, i am a guy and would be one of them that would sit and watch everyone else dance...then thorn in my side would play and it gives you no choice but to get off yer arse and onto yer feet.
One of the most noticeable aspects of a woman's looks for me... Are her eyes... If you're a woman with beautiful eyes... I'm instantly drawn to them... Annie Lennox has the most gorgeous Green eyes... Similar to the Scottish Singer and Actress Sheena Easton with her gorgeous Blue eyes...... Although they're a slightly different colour... Their eyes are stunning.
You have to realize there is no auto tune, here, her voice is gorgeous and I encourage you to listen to this with audio only, you were too distracted by the video
Av always wonder if this was her only time using scots slang? Not sure.. 'yous' is plural..ie everyone i suppose..i dunno if she is using scots slang here..but i believe she might be.. (shes scottish just incase no one knows) interesting song..i do think that use of the word yous is plural... Makes sense
I love Annie Lennox - but this is a poor cover of a great song by the little-known band The Lover Speaks. Annie heard this song nightly when TLS supported the Eurythmics on tour - she must have thought she knew the lyrics through osmosis but she had clearly misheard as some of the song’s most beautifully poetic lines are messed up in this cover, to the extent that they no longer make sense. If you can find it, check out the incredible original.
A poor cover ??? Really !!! Both versions are good … music is a personal choice so there is need to be so dismissive…Annie’s version is just as good as the original

Lady GaGa wishes she was the Annie Lennox of the 2000's.
This is actually an incredibly freaking sad song

Typical annie..so far ahead of the times it still shocks one now 😊
Like the song but the reaction was weird. I don't get why it was funny.

Annie Lennox ALTERED the lyrics to convey her message.
She did not mishear anything.

@@Gina-kb9xg I mean, it’s only a different opinion, calm down please. I respect your own feelings upon this and I’m glad you enjoy the song.
@@kieronball8962 I’m afraid not. Annie has spoken many times about how she got the words wrong.
It's her version and she owns it..😊
Early 90s. The album MEDUSSA. Her second after Eurythmics separation. 😊
