I bought BOTH the SC 1 & 2 because these chucks use the same extra jaws. I can use the SC2 on my big Robust lathe and mount the SC-1 on my old Oliver lathe-- it uses a 1.125"-8 spindle and Record Power makes that insert as an option. These nice chucks and only about $100. The key is the weakness to me.... Each chuck uses its own key which is weird-- they are not interchangable.

I agree the different keys is a bit of a hassle. I keep the dome jaws on my SC1 and it does not get a lot of use. I prefer the greater jaw range of movement for the SC2 and it gets a lot of use with the 40mm jaws.
