Excellent first game. Mono black has been super strong for a long time, I think virtue of persistence is one of the best cards in the format right now as well. Yes, poison counters go hard as well. They are worse when they run the version that is all removal + poison counters.
I would take 3 land out and add 3 Invoke Despair and replace Path of Peril and Graveyard Trespasser with 3 Gix Command and 3 Liliana
Invoke is sadly banned. Imagine this standard with invoke and meathook. Mono Black would be Tier 0.

Its always close vs poison because you are essentially starting at 10 life.

Yeah.. I played this deck for at least another 10 games. Not a single mono red. As soon as I switch to UW control. Mono red has entered the server...
