I have heard stories from family living from Cold Lake to Tuktoyaktuk, (very far north) on the rare night where they are incredibly intense they have heard crackling, whistling and popping sounds with their ears. The Northern Lights also give off radio radiation (or something like that) that can be picked up with certain instruments and played back as sound. Hope this helps.

That’s not the aurora making noises they actually don’t make noises
The sound is from the local wind and a microphone within or with the camera.
I've only seen them once and it was weak so it was a white colar
