There's a crazy twist in this video: Your focus is on his thoughts, but if you look at the background, time is reversing and going forward immutably, proving that he's in one of Nolan's movies all along.
Barbie runtime: 1:53:14 Oppenheimer runtime: 3:00:09 He'll have to splice The Red Badge of Courage to Barbie to reach Opp's runtime. It's going to be a rough mix, no matter what.
@@DoubleJesusChurch I'm no mathematician, but I imagine it could work out if you bring Oppenheimer on your spaceship traveling about 75% the speed of light, and traveling away from a giant movie-screen displaying Barbie. Ideally the Barbie-screen should scale (and bend) proportionally to the distance of your spaceship. The light from Barbie will sort of stretch out so that the playback rate decreases, making the total play-time match up with Oppenheimer. Barbie will look slightly dimmer than usual, but thats not the main issue. Due to the speed you travel the wavelenghts of light will also shift making the Barbie-pink look more red, and some of it might not be percievable by the human eye anymore. That could be fixed by filming with a camera able to record infra-red and digitally correcting the colors in real-time before playing back on a local screen on the space ship. Or you could just use VLC and play back the film at about 0.75x speed. Now if some mathematician could calculate how large the screen need to be at the end of the movie, to cover the same field of view throughout the movie...
My theory is that Barbie was released and being purposely pushed as the "palate cleanser" because Nolans film is going to hit us in the head and heart pretty strongly and they don't want us contemplating the utter power and corruption that we are all under the thumb of. A red-pill shot to be quickly followed by a blue-pill chaser to make it all seem like a dream.
So there is actually a red pill blue pill joke (amongst many great film references) in Barbie, and while it has a pink plastic aesthetic it's not a film that pulls punches. I found the double feature even more rewarding than I'd imagined, obviously the entertainment value was there but believe it or believe it both films had an extraordinary amount of self-reflection that sent quite literal chills around my body. They both have fabulous closing scenes/lines, naturally Barbie's leaves you on a major chord whereas Oppenheimer has a [deservedly] ominous tone.
@@OhhCharliee.. The trick is that I want the music without the talking. If it exists, I'd rather have a clean version of the track rather than the hash I'd make trying to edit out the voiceover.
