Hi Magnus, thanks for being a fantastic part of a great bouldering contest and the whole event in the Hangar Ostrava climbing gym. The boulder which you set up was very special! We will release the full video from the event and the bouldering contest on our AO channel on October 16! Stay tuned. Thanks again. AO Team
RUclipsrs generally release videos weeks to months after filming due to length of time editing requires and needing to maintain a shooting schedule that keeps their project backlog full. Additionally, since the competition was a collaboration between several creators there is a boosting effect when they schedule the videos to be released with days and weeks between rather than months since the last video will still be in our recent memory increasing our likelihood of clicking on the next one.
You're a very inspiring climber. Probably the strongest boulder climber of all time. It's good to see you engaging with Magnus here. Have you ever climbed with Alex Hannold?
@@darkyuraptor3315 I am guessing he is referring to how international journalists, casters etc fail frequently at saying names from other countries. Resulting in some resemblance to them saying "Midt(meat)bø(ball)".
What an inspiration to us "older" guys in our 30s! Magnus really knows how to motivate. Myself from 10 years ago would kick my butt right now, but this makes me want to be better.
The tendons getting stronger applies to armwrestling too. It's a fascinating part of strength related activities in that regard. Old man strength is real.
I've noticed the same thing with old tradesmen. My old man swung a hammer for years and he's still got a stronger grip than my cousin who's been a carpenter for over 10 years now. They'll do this thing where whenever they shake hands, my cousin tries to squeeze hard, and my dad squeezes back. The old man wins every time.
So stoked for some old school Magnus style videos just trying hard in the climbing gym. Super excited about the upcoming comp with Adam, Pete, Will and Yun.
Yep and that guy actually made a 1-9 on the campus board, there's a old video of him training still uploaded to youtube. I think that Magnus didn't took 1-9 in to consideration shows how rare this ability is. @@colehibbard2851
As a person in my 50s, I am now "old school" with names like Ondram/Midbø from being furious myself aI watchedng Sharma bolting routes in the 1980s? Boy, I feel young! These days I am stoked about slowly walking a mountain ridge without getting dizzy due to getting pumped (feeling older)
Thank you Magnus. I have a disability since my birth. It doesn't allow me to do any sports but rock climbing, because (as doctors said) it takes more of strenght than stamina. You give me a lots of motivation to get better, I hope that I'll be at least quarter as good as you are
@@TeamFortressTwoGaming and long walls are more about muscle endurance than stamina, plus because of the rope there's less risk of being hurt when falling (i don't know if that's relevant with op's disability but could be)
I'm really impressed by your entrepreneurial spirit, Magnus. The progression from where you were when starting your content-creating journey to where you are now is astounding. Your intention to continually expand the ways in which you bring value to both your own and other's lives is inspirational to me. I don't have to tell you to keep it up, because we all know you will! Thanks a ton!
Magnus, you’re a legend and you’ve inspired an uncountable amount of climbers. Your contribution to the climbing community is unmeasurable. You provide content and coaching and you don’t owe us anything else. The fact that you’re still progressing in your physical strength is icing on the cake (an American euphemism). I wish you the best in all your pursuits. You’re a legend 🤘🏼
A climbing Video with Marte would be amazing. Seeing her climb was always really great because I could relate to her level pretty well. Would be interested to see her now!
You actually are better at basically everything! You did 65 kg on the weighted chinup better than you did 60 kg back then. And your grip is insane. I think you taking a little bit from strength sports, hanging out with Juji, Brian, Eddie, Larry, etc. has really helped you, because now you're genuinely pretty strong in terms of lifting.
Super cool to hear about you completing again. These tests you did have really made me optimistic about my own training as I get older that I’ll be able to put in PRs for years after what people typically call “prime”
I'd say there's no need to decline at all until maybe 45. Even so, the body can do incredible things. What's much more detrimental to your physical ability than age is giving up.
An absolute inspiration. You inspired me to start climbing and I’ve been at it for a little over two years now. Super stoked to hear you get back into comp climbing! You have our support Magnus!
I'm so excited about this update, Magnus! Way to push yourself in so many ways. Appreciate your documentation of the journey. Best wishes in your next steps
I have been into climbing for the last few years or so but this year I have found more enjoyment from climbing than I have ever experienced before and you and your channel has truly inspired me in my climbing journey, keep up the excellent work bro and I wish you the best for any future competitions that you compete in. You are an inspiration to many people.
Hey. I'm reaching 40 myself. One thing I noticed over the years is my strength hasn't diminished, but my will power has grown. With everything you have achieved since your younger self, you may have learned to just push harder. Good luck. You continue to impress and inspire so many. Keep it up.
Love to see whenever your pushing through and getting excited Magnus. Big fan of Pete too, but you brought me into climbing and I feel inspired every video. Thank you for bringing us with you and showing everyone up with your incredible humility. Looking forward to where this goes and congrats on stepping up to compete!
Very happy for you Magnus with your new program! I’ll always remember the video where you said people should feel like they’re watching a friend and I feel that way with your channel. I feel that successful youtubers have that quality. You are the only climber I watch and have no interest in the sport myself but have always enjoyed watching your adventures. Im so excited for you Magnus! You've been the one i look up to for many years now and you always inspire me. Show the world that you can still be the strongest version of you!
To me, the fact that you are overall pretty much as strong as you were before despite not having completed anymore, having reduced your training by half and grown 6 years older, is really mind-blowing. Maybe you're doing less, but more effectively? Anyway, that's really inspiring!
It’s crazy even for myself to see those videos from 6 years ago as I feel like I’ve watched Magnus ever since. It’s so impressive to see Magnus to continue to be at the top of the sport while doing youtube for a living.
Hey Magnus! You were great in Czechia, thank you for coming! I didn't take a photo with you which I'm probably gonna regret forever, but it was nice meeting you in person. Hope you come back again some day.
It would be very interesting to see you being coached by Lattice, and share your thoughts and compare with your previous training. But good luck with your comp anyway!
Jan actually did a 1-9 on the Campusboard. But with his unbelievable Power and wingspan of almost 2 meters, I don't think there is anyone in the world who ever did it or could do it atm. Really looking forward to the comp :)
