Thanks Marty :) Great fun and light relief to some of our news feeds just right now. I think the four lane layout is great for what it is but so was the two lane layout. My only view on further changes is really to wait a while and first really get a better experience with what you have just right now. Personally, I prefer the longer lap lengths as this delivers more scope to register and calibrate performance changes and for guys like you and I (and many others) this activity constitutes a good chunk of our time as our prism in on this most delightful hobby. Thanks once again for all you do.
Look at you with your new fancy 4 lane. Love it, I believe analogue 4,5,6 lane is the best pure stripped back racing you can have. I like the option of going digital too though if needed. Flow is important and technical sections are key in making it challenging, no point having a track that is too easy and the benefit of racing each lane per race is that the tighter turns are slower laps than the middle so it really challenges you to race your own race and try and push as hard as possible.
I think the 4 lanes are very nice and the present one is better than the first one you showed us. You seem to have found that you like the race in slot car racing. I am still trying to figure out what is it I want and I am sure others are in the same boat. I have tons of money invested in track, high bank turns, numerous turn radius, track that cause collisions and lane changers. I also have buildings (bought and built), track figures , stuff for painting cars /figures, things to build molds of figures and maybe some day cars. And then there is the cars themselves, I buy them because of their looks not how fast I can drive them. I just enjoy it all. I will never be a good race car driver. But I love the hobby!
I'm glad you followed the chat consensus of putting the straightaway under. Just looking at it looks like a fun track to drive. The track B as you called it looks like it would add some fun Technicality to the setup, I'd definitely find those 2 missing pieces needed. I wasn't an initial fan of changing to 4 from 2....But I gotta say, it's growing on me. Catch ya on Tues!!
“B”, but I would rotate it 180 degrees, since it looks like your table is up against that wall and those “S’s” will be the most likely deslotting factor. I do like what I call Ying-Yang turns though too - used them often and always seemed to be a favorite with my group up here.
One of the issues of owning a lot of carrera 124 track is the time and planning that goes into building and taking apart pieces. I don't envy your predicament. 😂 Keep up with these videos. Loving the content.
Good looking layout, Marty. The tight turns at the ends of the layout will make the drivers slow down to take them properly, before being able to accelerate down the main straight and then into the technical section once more.
Looks great Marty!! I'm considering going to a four lane also. Right now I have a 93 foot two lane track with no R-1 curves and I love it but that 4 lanes look tempting.
Ilike what your doing with your layout I think your headed in the right direction,,,,,Now Get to tracking those two pieces of track,,,And don't forget to send me the new 4 lane digital schematic/non-schematic...
Hey, love your channel! I want to convert my digital carrera to 4 lanes. What are the basics to add the 2 lanes and get all 4 lanes reading laps and laptimes? Using smartrace software. Thanks!
Choice B looks to have a better flow, but like what has been described below dont rush to make any changes, run this current layout for a while, make the changes and run layout B for a while, then make your decision on which layout to keep
Marty- Actually like both layouts- but think "B" option would flow a little better. Too bad i wasnt closer to ya, cause I got a lot of 3/30 turns in stock. Relax, and enjoy - you'll get it figured out !
Like B the best of the options, but I would suggest trying current design for a week or two since you just fine tuned this current design. Thanks for another 'Saturday Morning Coffee Talk with Two Lines Slot Cars.'
Nice track ,every track its like a Bron child. Before run you must walk over it. I have nothing to say about changing the i suppose lave it that way. I wish you goodluck with your new track, may the best pilot wins! Great from belguim
@twolinesslotcars Dare is a lot of changes . Back in 1995, I was a kid from 14 years old. I did slotracing with ninco that time with a green merc c class dtm. Now, many years later, my son has started with a carrera go version. Now I have back the fibe to start again. I'll take the old-school version of carrera, the Revolution series. Greats from belguim
I know you probably do not want to hear this, but I think you have to at least try option B. Although option A does seem to be a lot more fun than I had expected. As usual you have the gears turning in my head about my own track. BTW I may have a few spare R3 pieces if you find it difficult to track down just two of them.
I think your proposal is a big improvement choice B, but I think you'll end up cutting that 180 on the left down to a 90 and going straight on to The Esses
Honestly the yellow lane is tough on that end.. but it isn’t horrible.. get brakes set right and roll on through.. cutting that straight to the esses loses like 3 feet..lol
Choice B is exactly what I was trying to explain. I think that looks awesome Marty. As the s’s start, can you remove the small section of grey straight?
New changes are a breath of fresh air. Maybe consider dropping voltage from 12v to 10v. To me it's just more realistic. Plus the damage to the cars will be minimal to none. I know what's happening here because I've seen this movie. A 4 lane routed track is just around the corner?
Hey Marty Love your channel. I have noticed that you dont have checklanes in your layout anymore. I been thinking about making a 3 lane track and wondered if i can split a checklane in half. And the CU can cope with an extra lane(checklane piece) to go with the normal one. Hope you understand and maybe have the answer i seek. Best regard from Denmark
Kent, I only had one check lane and I went to a 4 lane track. I don’t know how the CU would register the third lane. I don’t think it would see it. Thanks for the great question. I appreciate the kind words. -Marty
@ yeah i’ve seen your 4 Lane layout and love it. My thoughts about a 3 Lane in regards to 4 is quite simply space and the fact that i kan split many of my curves in halfs and then use them as inners and outers e.g full r2-inner r3 to a outer r3-full r4. And of cause i need the half the startlane extension piece aswell to make it a full 3 Lane setup.
I think you should do a race on this track and make your changes and race the other layout and see what layout you and your racer friends like the best.
Thanks Marty :) Great fun and light relief to some of our news feeds just right now. I think the four lane layout is great for what it is but so was the two lane layout. Thanks Darren, great insight. We will have a go at this for some laps and see how we like it.

All about this comment!! It’s why we decided to make the change! Hopefully makes us better drivers!

This is what it is all about Richard! The hobby is so much fun with lots of layers for everyone to enjoy.
G'day Marty , new track looks awesome 👌 👏 👍 have fun Marty
Thanks 👍

It was the right move for sure!!! Always listen to the chat😂

It is a job.. for sure 😂 thanks!
Good looking layout, Marty. The tight turns at the ends of the layout will make the drivers slow down to take them properly, before being able to accelerate down the main straight and then into the technical section once more.
Thanks Mark!
I'd definitely go with Option "B" Great job Marty!!!
Thanks for voting!
I like the 4 lane layout! Choice A looks good but choice B must be tried 😁
It does!
Going to be a blast with four people and more skill needed
Looking forward to it Tom!
Looks like fun Marty! I like A, but I have a s-section on my lay-out and I really like it as it upsets the car and makes it challenging! Tough call
You and me both! They are fun!
Always evolving.i like the revised with the s'sbut i agree with Darrell drive both then decide.
I want Dusty, Jon Mark and others to give it a try.. get some feedback
I like your four lane I think it flows very nicely. It will be interesting to see if your next layout will do the same.
I think it will.. let’s hope it does when we get to that point..
Looks great Marty!! I'm considering going to a four lane also. Right now I have a 93 foot two lane track with no R-1 curves and I love it but that 4 lanes look tempting.
I am still trying to decide… lol it I think my mind will change once I have a race night!
Choice B!! It passes the eye test for sure.
B is where we are headed
Ilike what your doing with your layout I think your headed in the right direction,,,,,Now Get to tracking those two pieces of track,,,And don't forget to send me the new 4 lane digital schematic/non-schematic...
Pat, I am almost finished.. doing some testing.. will post it when it is complete
Hey, love your channel! I want to convert my digital carrera to 4 lanes. What are the basics to add the 2 lanes and get all 4 lanes reading laps and laptimes? Using smartrace software. Thanks!
To go from two lanes to 4 lanes.. you need the multi lane straight track piece. It adds lap counting to the additional lanes..
Choice B looks to have a better flow, but like what has been described below dont rush to make any changes, run this current layout for a while, make the changes and run layout B for a while, then make your decision on which layout to keep
Good thoughts Gene. We will spend some time with this one for a bit.
Love it

cause I got a lot of 3/30 turns in stock. Relax, and enjoy - you'll get it figured out !
On their way!
If you go with choice B, I would move the pit lane to the left more so it's not under the bridge and you have a better view.
Good thought..
Like B the best of the options, but I would suggest trying current design for a week or two since you just fine tuned this current design. Thanks for another 'Saturday Morning Coffee Talk with Two Lines Slot Cars.'
That is the plan.. until I get a few more track pieces..
I support what ever you decide to do Marty.
Thanks Wildman! Whatever the layout.. fun will be had!
That's it ! Just have fun exploring options.
Nice track ,every track its like a Bron child. Before run you must walk over it. I have nothing to say about changing the i suppose lave it that way. I wish you goodluck with your new track, may the best pilot wins!
Great from belguim
Thanks! It is always fun to try new layouts!

Frankie already hooked me up!! Thanks!
I'd tend to agree about the changes. and you can try them out fairly easily. so I'd say go for it!
Thanks Peter!
Happy Saturday Marty
Same to you!

2 lanes become 4 lanes? I need a yes or no! Is what you are showing, 2 separate, 2 lane tracks set side by side?
Sullie, it is Carrera track.. so two track pieces side by side.. each track piece is two lanes..
Good stuff. B must be tried. (better flow approaching the bridge)
Track is on its way!
Choice B is exactly what I was trying to explain. I think that looks awesome Marty. As the s’s start, can you remove the small section of grey straight?
Working on that…👍

Vin! 😂 you just never know… 🏎️
ola Marty been busy but too funny😅😅
😂😂
make me jellous i like the "b" track you ever think about going round the pole . like a loop around the pole
Yes, but could not really make it line up.. 😂 the pole tends to ruin a lot of great ideas lol
cool layout need to see B when u test it😊
Will do
You should add a bank to maintain speed at the start or end the straight maybe you can fit an R3/R4 180 or 210 bank.
I have a 180 bank R3 on my roval, 2nd best feature of my track, the best being the twin bridges.
We have a r3 high bank.. since we went no magnet we decided to eliminate it.. it might find its way back some day.
Hey Marty

Get those 2 3/30 track pieces and go for option B.
Much scooter, I like it.
Thanks!
I think you should do a race on this track and make your changes and race the other layout and see what layout you and your racer friends like the best.
Sounds great! When you coming over? Lol
@@twolinesslotcars I said racer friends, not wrecker friends.
I just said how beautiful the old layout was 😂
😂 we loved it too! But are having a blast in the 4 lane!!
Choice B For My Vote!!
Thanks Lee!
Was thinking about doing a 4 lane but it takes up a lot more space
It is a lot of fun though..🤷🏻♂️
They are both great tracks but I like the ss in track b 👍
Me too
I vote for choice B Marty. It flows better and doesn’t look like it’s so upsetting to the car.
We are probably going with B as soon as the track pieces arrive!
Track is looking good! Choice B seems like it would flow better. Did you get a chance to switch it up this weekend?
Not yet… mid week…
How did you build your table for the layout ? Thanks
Had had 4- 4’x4’ tables already built.. I put two on each end and put 2x4’s in between to complete the 24’ table.. 8’x24’
B to me looks like it flows better.
Yes. I like the flow a little better as well
B. For all the same reasons you cited.
Made the changes!! It is great!
S turns are the better choice IMO
Agreed! Hated to miss Saturday!
Track B is for me the S turns are more fun. Enjoy
They do look fun
How long is track now after the changes, 12 volt is the right voltage
57’
B. 🤠
👍
Have you tried it with four cars running at once?
Not yet.. hopefully Sunday night!
Choice B
Should flow pretty nice../
whats that app you use to design tracks
It is a website. softyroyal.de
Layout B
Thanks Jorge!
I would go for A
That is how the track is set up now.. 👍
choise B
Thanks!
Let me look I believe I have 3/30
Go with B
Thanks Lindsey!
Choice B flows better
Agree Wayne!
IMHO, Choice B Marty, you miss the S curves of your 2 lane layout.
They were fun.. and if you were good through them.. you could really make up some time.. good choice Shaun!
B looks better
I have to agree Joe..
Layout B
Thanks!
