ive watched thousands of videos/reviews from phones, computers,rc etc etc. But you are realy in my top on reviewing Rc. Simple, clear, indepth nd makes my choices allot easier. Thanks!
Mine should be in this week. Own the full size version and love it. Not bothered by the price or size, although I just saw the 1.9 came down a lot in price. My big complaint these days is the lack of kit form. I almost always feel robbed by RTR only options. I'll get this and in a weeks time, it will have all new electronics. Great review though, I can't wait to get mine! Lol, especially exited to see those crazy lights!
Thanks for watching! It seems that folks who have the big Capra aren’t flinching at the price of this one. Probably because you know the capabilities first hand. I hope you enjoy this one!
I bought the Losi Lasernut a few months ago, and they say it's a 10th scale, but when I got it it's much more of an 8th scale in reality. Much bigger than I expected, I like it a lot though, it's a blast!!! Another great video Adam, looks like a fun rig!!! Take care
Thanks for the excellent video as always. Just picked on up a few hours ago. So good. Can't really compare to my 1/24's. You've been my inspiration for most of their mods... Love the UTB18. I have a full size Summit, many scx24's. I think this may become my new favorite. Back ordered the front brass, rear link riser & overdrive, but frankly, it's pretty damn good stock! Hope I don't regret the upgrades. Have a TRX4 Bronco around the 20th. That should be good too.
Thank you! I am right there with you: loving the Capra. Except I broke an axle today after installing the first batch of mods. I did the full suite of axial upgrades plus bigger tires. The rig didn’t make it 10 minutes before I snapped the front axle shaft.
Nice review and footage. I don't typically run my RCs down to the battery cutoff but I've done that on all 5 packs I've ran through my Capra 1/18. Its great fun, I got some slightly bigger and wider 1.7 tires on 1.9 rims and love it even more now.
@@CapeCrawlers I'm using RC4WD BFGoodrich Krawler T/A 1.7 tires. They are 3.7 inches diameter compared to the stock of like 3.6, so they aren't much larger. I found the included foams were very stiff so I used some lighter ones from my old Temper Gen 2.
I love mine… our the box is very impressive and performance is good… just needed a once over. I upgraded to 3s and Holmes torqumaster brxl mini esc in addition to Suspension tuning and some tire upgrade and your golden 😊
now that i've seen it compared to you for scale the $250 price point makes sense, i was under the impression it was only a little bit bigger than the trx4m but this thing is HUGE compared to that rig, i think you are essentially just paying for the articulation. the 10th scale servo is a good part though
It is big. A monstrosity compared to the scx24 and the trx4m. But it also feels very solid. It’s grown on me a lot and has quickly become one of my favorite rigs. I just put all of the axial mods on it and can’t wait to try it out!
I love it yeah that was beautiful full moon the sounds of the waves on the beach yeah that’s what I’m talking about. 👍👍😎 As always appreciate you sharing, will catch on the next one
Nice video Adam. Glad u had fun with it. I am waiting on the upgrades to show up and going to be putting a Holmes Hobby revolver 380 and micro mamba x2 esc. Might end up doing the 4 ws later on. I did end up putting the proline 1.9 krawler g8 tires Plastic vanquish wheels. Thanks again for your video.
@@CapeCrawlers I like it so far. Hoping Rock Pirate Rc will make shock relocaters to lower the ride hight. Btw I ordered the upgrades on eBay. List is on scale builders Guilds review. Again thanks for all your 24 scale reviews. Been upgrading those as well.
Great review, nice camera work, glad you are having fun with the baby capra. Ha, if you love that, how much do you think you may love a 10th scale 4ws capra. I converted my original Capra to 4ws and its definitely one of my favourite rc's. I think you would be struck by its capabilities. Oh and of course you can upgrade until your hearts content. John
Thank you! My head would explode if I got my hands on a 1/10 4WS Capra I think. It will happen soon enough! Probably in the spring when the weather gets warm and the days get longer. I can better justify the 1/10 at that point.
Give it some time and upgrades I think you’ll love it once they come out with a better brushless set up too. Furitek says they’re already working on it.
The more I use it the more I love it as it is! I’ve got the whole suite of axial upgrades ready to put on it. I’m excited to see how it does after that. But it’s so much more capable than I’m used to already!
I know you like to cover products from various manufacturers and do awesome builds, but could you do a video covering furitek electronics and motors? I’ve been really overwhelmed with the furitek stuff trying to figure out what motor I want, what electronics are compatible with certain size batteries, what the different components do, and so on. I haven’t found anyone do a good, full breakdown on all the furitek options and I feel like you would do a good job at explaining all of it.
I would love to do that! I’m building a good relationship with furitek as we speak. I will bring this idea to them to see if they will sponsor a video. It’s a capital intensive video because of all of the various motors, esc’s, etc. But I would do it even without their sponsorship; it’s a good idea and would benefit the community.
Awesome, I hope you get that sponsorship! With how good and informative your videos are, they would have a great advocate. Looking forward to the video.
hi, nice video. I was really hoping to see another review of this new creature, I have little time in the hobby, I started with a 1:10, but I fell in love with my scx24 c10 and got rid of the 1:10 to have 2 scx24 haha. but now I miss having a slightly more capable crawler on offroad... that's why I wanted to get to know the minicapra but the price kills me a bit.
Thanks for watching! The price is tough to swallow, but the more I use it the more I feel it’s justifiable. It’s just so fun and so capable. I don’t regret it at all.
If the car was advertised as 1/12th, would that have changed your opinion about being over priced? I haven’t put my hands on either, but it seems an extra $100 over the 1/18th Traxxas TRX4M doesn’t sound too bad for a much bigger and capable car. Or for the 1/10th Capra rtr, it’s almost double the price.
That’s an interesting question. Because it’s labeled 1/18, I think we subconsciously compare it to other 1/18’s in terms of price. I think labeling it a 1/12 would have made the price more justifiable because we would then compare it more to a 1/10. Then it would seem like a bargain!
It seems to fit between the 10th scale and scx24 quite nicely... I wonder if it's a geo metro sized body, or 4 door long bed... Seems 1:1 scale varies alot also...
It is a very interesting blend of the two scales: big scale feel and capabilities with small scale portability and versatility. The more I run it the more I like it!
Not all scale trucks will be the same size. When they say 1/18th scale, it is based on the original full size vehicle. You cannot compare the 1/18 Trail Buggy to a 1/18 Bronco let’s say, the real version are different sizes.
@@CapeCrawlers For sure bud! Ive got 10th scale trail trucks that i got back into the hobby with, and over the last couple yrs ive been using both 24 qnd 10th scale. So much fun depending on the weather here in wisconsin lol. Cheers
Wicked Video Adam 🤙🏻🤙🏻. I hope it does get you to go to 1/10 scale Crawlers cos you can see what all the hype is about. I’m moving towards the dark side.. that scx10 gladiator is calling my name! I just need to find more places to use the bigger scale rigs. That’s really the only thing holding me back at this point
@@CapeCrawlers yeah it is a really nice truck and the extra wheelbase you get with the Gladiator works a treat, or so i’ve heard 🤔🤔. Only Axial products i have are the 3 SCX24’s i have.

It's more of a 1/14 than a 1/18. Having four 1/10 scalers it easily won me over the more true to 1/18 scale TRX-4m. Ain't those lights epic at night? A few upgrades and it will be an apex crawling beast.
The lights are near automotive level brightness! I can’t wait to put some weight down low and up front. Very excited to see how it performs after some tuning

For trailing probably the trx4m. The Capra is more at home doing some serious rock crawling. The traxxas does really good as a little trail truck

A 1/10 Capra wheelbase is 12.5 , A 1/18 Capra wheelbase is 9.0, If you do the math it comes to 1/14 scale.
