My husband and I are from Portland and are currently 1.5 hrs away from KC. You can get a house at a fantastic price and this city has so much potential. There are a lot of jobs but mainly housing prices are so low you can actually save $. Love the west coast but it’s sooo expensive

The Midwest as a region is affordable...esp by city standards. The South used to be affordable but all the people moving here from states like CA, MI, and NY have driven housing prices well above their Midwestern counterparts.

He meant to use English and say 500, 000,or 500K. The city of KC, Missouri had a peak population in 1970 at 507, 000. It lost population for years, declining to 429,000...as of 2020, it finally is at peak population of 508, 000. The reason that KC is the largest 'city' in Missouri is not so much that Kansas City grew, it was that St. Louis city population collapsed. St. Louis is still the largest metro area in MO, but St. Louis city population in 1950 was over 800K, in 2020, it is just under 300K.
