  • In 1967, founders of Hallmark Cards J.C. and Don Hall delivered their plans for a brand new development center to City Hall. This development came to be Crown Center, a "city within a city," and a place to experience the original, rather than the expected. Through years of continued growth, Crown Center has remained the cornerstone of urban renewal in Kansas City, a shining testament of the innovation of the Hall family and a collection of Kansas City's best offerings.

A terrific place! I was lucky enough to visit it during December! A must see if you’re in KC.

Crown Center began to decline in the 1980s. In the 1970s, it was the coolest place in town. West Village disappeared- it became Oak Park Mall II.
