I have learned over the last 20 years that when life is going in the wrong direction that reaching out to Jesus Christ is the only way to get life going back in the right direction. Love this song
This song has helped me so many times throughout my life. Like many of Petra songs but this one helps me when I am in the dark places. When I feel so out of place in this messed up world. I know God speaks through music and heals brokenness. Praise Jesus and thank you Petra for listening to the Holy Spirit give you the words that helps so many!

I wanted to tell this. Some of you may NOT realize GOD is talking to you through worship songs but HE is. This happened to me when I went to Florida 5 months after my friend died of cystic fibrosis GOD used this song and when you are a soldier to help me to learn that I wasn't alone.
This morning I was so depressed my chest was hurting my heart was broken and I forgot what was important. I started to pray and the song came to me for when I was a kid. In my heart and mind I just had AA wonderful time thanking Jesus in Jesus as I reached out.
Now that my parents are passed, God always reminds me that I am never alone. The strange feeling of my parents’ absence is still on. So music becomes God’s powerful tool to clean up my sadness into something better. The lyrics are very easy to understand on this song. That’s very powerful. As a result, these words make me feel very emotional. Thank you, John Schlitt and Petra!
I remember very clearly back in 1994 getting this album. I was only 14 years old. Listening to song for the first time, I was deeply blowned away and 28 years later this song still gives me the chills.

Petra Beyond Belief was my First Album, and then I got hooked - my friend made me cassettes of all the old Petra albums, and I wore them out - when I had the money I would by the CD's. When I was in the Army at Fort Gordon, Georgia in the 90s - I found out that you were playing your solo album at a Church somewhere in Georgia - not knowing how to get there - I bought a map and drove and drove to find it. Find it I did. I never got to see Petra. But I am glad that I was finally able to see you - if even at a Church in the middle of nowhere Georgia. I went away from the Lord for about 25 years and its been the past few years that I've revisited all my old Petra. Its amazing how - After you live in the world - you realize you never really lost anything following Christ. - there is no there there in the world just pain, emptiness, and strife. thanks for your ministry.
I was on my knees as a teenager. I was down and / or praying,I had just bought this new album ( in tape form back then 😊 90's.) Well I was in my room and God had touched me,I thought maybe that the tape was over when this last song played,and it played at the right time and I was touched . I remember this moment! Another time he came down to me.
