A tough bite and crazy boaters always make for one heck of a kayak tournament! I honestly can’t believe how dangerous some people can be. All in all though it was a great day. I got to catch some fish and end the kayak tournament “season” on a good note. Kayak tournaments will start up again in November and I can’t wait! Happy late birthday, we have the same issue on table rock. I'll be fishing off my dock and a wake board boat will come down the cove at like 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and just throw 3-4 ft rollers. Super annoying to say the least.
Some people has no sense no respect worthless!! I’ve seen some crazy stuff on Laurel River Lake and Cumberland I had the bright idea I was gonna go out on my kayak at Laurel on 4th of July weekend horrible idea!! But oh well I learn hard 😂!! I have an orange and a black ketch board. I notice with the black one the tail blends with the board and I sometimes loose a 1/4”. I usually don’t have that issue with the orange. Keep up the good work. Stay safe

To me the black ketch board are the hardest to judge because of the black tail of the fish but think I crossed the line. I been having more and more problem with jet ski and boats getting way to close. I ready for winter
Pontooners are bad too. If working a shoreline or weedbed invariably they will go through the weedbed or between you and the shore even thou there is 600 acres behind you. Also almost been run over three different times by seniors driving their pontoons on their cellphones.
That’s what the dude in the red and white boat was doing. Just idling and texting.
Wonder if white measuring board would help tail length show better.

Life of a kayak angler. Have u had a boater cut u off yet. Happens about every time. Especially if ur catching fish. I had one this weekend. I was heading down a bank clearly heading the direction the boat came 2o foot in front of me and started fishing.
Happy birthday! The tournaments I fish they would have denied all your fish because of had placement too close to the tail. In Southern California the boaters and pwc are 10x worse, in one tournament I was talking to a friend maybe two pa 14 distance away a wave runner split us, what the heck?
Yeah we can pinch tails in our tournaments. There’s some clubs that’s a no go.

That second fish definitely looks to be 13.75 but I think with the dark color of your measure board it hurts you. I think a light colored board would have helped. It would have shown the outline of the tail fin leading up to the white line. Just my 2 cents.

I enjoy watching your videos! Your ketch board is black? I use a yellow Ketch board. It’s much easier to see the tale against a lighter contrast…maybe that’s why the judge changed your total? I was actually struggling to see you fishes tales on your board.
I was actually talking about that with a buddy. I’m going to switch back to my yellow board when I’m not fishing tournaments that require a metal board.

I've definitely had jet skis and boats multiple, multiple times fly by me at that distance. Flying! They don't care. Lol And if anyone says anything to them, who knows what it'll turn into. Also I've had a million bass boats FLY by me and pull in front of me to cut me off and fish. Oh dude you have no idea. 😂 People are just plain disrespectful. What can ya do though.

When it comes to pontoons, wake boats and pleasure boats in general,they are my enemy. We are not friends,wouldn't help or do a dam thing for em, even if the their boat was on fire. I absolutely hate and despise em. Like you said they use our public resources and dont put a damn thing back into it. They erode shoreline, which is a massive issue that most aren't aware of. The majority of our water contamination is from shoreline erosion. I have zero respect for those people. I've basically declared war on em. F@#$ em and everyone that looks like em. I know the comment is a bit excessive but the run ins I've had with those people over the years has led me to this point.
