    Mike, because of you, I’m able to have an in depth Bible study where I seek and understand the scriptures. I really hope to be able to sit down with others and present them the grace that comes through Christ Alone. I especially pray that I am able to sit down with the LDS missionaries that I find walking around my college campus, and read about this grace in God’s word. If someone is reading this, please say a quick prayer that God would do these things in my life.

      In Quran 5:75, it states that the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was just a messenger like those before him. His mother was a truthful woman, and both of them ate food. This passage highlights the clear signs and how some people are misguided.
      Claiming that a man is God is idolatry (shirk). In Exodus 20:3, it says that we must not worship any other gods except the one true God.
      Aa is a Muslim and believes in the right to represent Jesus as a role model. The goal is to distinguish between those who genuinely follow Jesus and those who follow Paul's blasphemous teachings.

      ​@@ibrahimalharbi3358 First of all something is only blasphemy if you believe in the scripture stating it. Second of all we do only belive in 1 true god.
      "God cannot die" is in a god ends sense he still can become human and give up the body he walked in.
      No one has ever seen god if not the son has revealed him unto them.

      I also like the example of children. Children must be taught to live according to a standard of good that they are to uphold. They do not need to be taught to behave badly; they do this very well on their own. They can, of course, be taught how to behave worse than they would otherwise behave, but the initial bad behavior occurs without encouragement or instruction.

    Amen, we have to rightly divide the word of God. There is therefore NOW NO condemnation in Christ Jesus, and "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." Glory to King Jesus.

    Thanks for this teaching? I love the way you pull all the threads together.
    Speaking of threads...right after watching this teaching, I saw the film "Do You Believe?" It's as if they were each designed to be viewed back to back. Your emphasis on the sacrifice of Jesus and especially the Isaiah 53 passage powerfully impacted the viewing of this film. It lifted it to an entirely different level. I believe preaching 'the cross of Christ' and the 'power of His blood' needs to be revived in the 21st century church! Thanks for these foundational teachings.

    Hey Mike! Thank you for your exhortations. I enjoy learning from them.
    I do, have a question for you, though.
    Have you ever considering having someone help translate the CC into other languages? I’ve been having discussions with Muslims about Christ and I think that there would be a benefit to having an Arabic translation. I realize that this can be time/financially taxing, so I understand if this type of thing isn’t feasible. Just a thought to ponder on!

      Elleni Gebreselassie Mormons believe that God was once a man and became a God. They believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers. They believe that God and Mary physically had sex to conceive Jesus. They believe that marriages that are sealed in a secret rite in their temple are sealed for this world and into the world that the husband will be God over. Mormons believe deeply, they just believe in a different Jesus.

    Isn’t “fire” also a form of cleansing and purification in connection with the baptism of the Holy Spirit?

      Not that I see. I think it’s just judgement within this context. In fact, I don’t know a context off the top of my head where fire is good in relation to us being in it.

      @Marcia AKA I think you are right because holy spirit and fire are together. If it was choice base, it would say holy spirit or fire. Mike is twisting something to make it seem like hell fire.

      @@aaronmonroe7932 Fire in scripture is usually related to judgment, or purification/cleansing.
      The Holy Spirit baptizing with fire *could be* referring to cleansing.
      I just listened to Mike explaining that scripture. No, he is not "twisting" it.
      Some people interpret it differently, in ways that are far less clear than the interpretation here.
      Rest assured that Mike is very careful to compare scripture with scripture, and he digs deep to find the true meaning, so he wouldn't have just made the comment off the top of his head.
      If fire is judgment, and it is, then hell is very likely a good interpretation.
      John the baptizer could have been referring to the separating/winnowing of the people, since he did talk about Jesus separating the wheat from the chaff. (Like the sheep from the goats.)
      This would be referring to judgement, as the chaff is burned.
      Either way, it's not a positive experience.

    Law of sin and death seems to be summed up in James 1:15, “Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin: and sin, when it is mature, brings forth death.”

      Jesus said, you have heard thy shall not commit murder but I say don't even get angry. Did Jesus sin when he got angry and cleared the temple? When he saw them selling in the temple, did his desire over take him?

      If you didn’t know if you sinned, THEN YOU DIDNT. We all HAVE sin. If we are walking in the light(1john1:6-9) then these are CONTINUALLY being cleansed by the blood of which you ARE sanctified BY FAITH IN JESUS.(heb10). These sins(less than perfection God requires of us) are being removed so u have no sin.
      BUT IF YOU SIN, then you must confess and renounce(1john1:9, prov28:13)
      WE DONT SIN IN THOUGHT WORD AND DEED ALL THE TIME AS MANY TEACH(if you are then you are in trouble!)
      WE ALL HAVE SIN BUT ARE TOLD NOT TO SIN(sin is the exception , not the norm or even occasional )
      Remember SINNERS will not inherit the kingdom.ONLY THE RIGHTEEOHS AND 1Johm3 shows us that those who DO righteous ARE RIGHTOEUS.
      So HAVING sin does not make one a sinner
      SINNER makes one a sinner.
      We are free from Sin if IN CHRIST. If you can go a minute , you can go and hour, if an hour- a day, if a day , a year, etc

      Dakota Bledsoe About the “sin we didn’t know we committed” You are correct. It is still sin and it is still our sin and we still did it. The point I am trying to make is that there is a BIG DIFFERNECE between sin we know of and don’t know of. In the old tesrament(Leviticus and I believe numbers makes it even more clear) we see that u intentional unknown sins STILL NEEDED ATONEMENT, but when an one BECAME AWARE OF A SIN HE HAD UNITENTIONALLY AND UNKNOWNINGLY COMMTTED HE WAS TO GO THROUGH THE FORGIVENESS PROCESS(for it to be atoned) present his offering to the priests and so forth.
      WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT THE PERSON WHO WAS AWARE OF HIS SIN HAD TO RESPOND. HAD TO GO TO GOD. So in light of the new covenant we are in, the sins we ARE UNAWARE OF NEED ATONEMENT AS WELL. We did sin though we didn’t know it and indeed are guilty still. God is holy , it doesn’t matter if we didn’t know, it still stains us. BUT if we are walking in the light/following Jesus/in fellowship with God THOSE SINS WE UNKMOWINGLY COMMITTED ARE BEING CONTINUALLY CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD. So In a sense they are being removed as they happen. Atonement is automatic on these. In the old covenant a priest had to make atonement for these , WE ALREADY HAVE IT. But once sin is KNOWN or done willfully or out of weakness (whatever) ITS KNOWN, then WE MUST GO TO GOD. Confess it , repent/renounce AND HE IS FAITHDUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US.why? Because he cannot count it against us AND Jesus IF we have repented to RECIEVE the forgiveness that is available because of what Jesus has done for ALL THE SINS OF EVERY PERSON.
      So why did I say the sins”we have”and the sins “we do”? Because you are correct that we did all of them, BUT WHEN WE LOOK AT HOW JOHN TALKS ABOUT SIN, HE ONLY REFERS TO THOSE WE DO WILLFULLY . THOSE WE KNOW OF.
      That’s why he can say thAt “WHOEVERS SINS IS NOT BORN OF GOD. “ and also “IF we sin(meaning we don’t have to do what we know not to)” . This is how we RECONCILE what seems like John contradicting himself when John says we all HAVE sin but also says WE DONT SIN. He says IF we sin , not WHEN we sin. I hope u understand the point I am making(I am not the best of communicators!)
      The problem is that most have a hard time reconciling these scriptures(likely haven’t even tried to). I am fully aware that what I am saying is new to you. I know the position most take here. What they have done is not make a DISTINCTION between the unknown and unwilling sins we may commit in “thought , word and deed “ on a fairly regular basis(we all fall short) and from those times WE STUMBLE. We mess up. We do something we knew beforehand wasn’t in faith but gratified the flesh anyway. Or something we did and AFTERWARDS became aware of. These are the sins that we MIST CONFESS AND RENOUNCE TO RECEIEVE FORGIVENESS SO HAT WE T REMAIN IN FELLOWSHIP WITH THE FATHER SO THAT WE STILL HAVE THE BLOOD CLEANSING THE SINS WE”have” (the other group of sins we unknowingly do). This is why John says IF we confess our sins(when we stumble) He will forgive us and cleanse us FROM ALL UNRIGHTOEUSNESS.
      Can we stumble and not know it? That’s the difference . We confess the ones we know, when we stumble. When we have done this , ALL THE OTHERS ARE BEING TOOK CARE OF AUTOMATICALLY.
      The problem is that most don’t make this distinction and take one of two positions. The holiness preachers (often Pentecostal) will say you commit one sin and you lost your salvation and on the way to hell unless you repent and confess it. Even if you didn’t know! Maybe someone saw you do something(they knew was sin but u didn’t have light of/knowledge of) and they say you must repent of it! On the other side you have the COMMON AND WIDESPREAD DOCTIRNE that EVERY SIN YOU DO(whether unknown OR those you are aware of/STUMBLING)are all AUTOMATICALLY being cleansed. That’s where we get the doctrine of “God doesnt see my sins, only the blood of Jesus”. And “all sins, past present and future are forgiven”. Because they fail to make this distinction that JOHN makes. And it essentialist can become a license to sin(or at least not a salvation issue) meaning you can sin in up and lose rewards and be disciplined and even fellowship with God but not your soul. Which makes no sense because if your sins we already forgiven then how can he hold them against you with these consequences? And why are we told to confess them if automatically forgiven? They will say ,”to remain in fellowship with God” . BUT if we look at the passage in 1john1 , our sins are only forgiven WHEN WE HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD! we are either walking in darkness(following the flesh) or walking in the light(led by the Spirit/following Jesus who is the light).
      To sum it up. If we are following Jesus by the grace and power of God throught the Holy Spirit and confess and renounce sin we know of then ALL OUR SINS ARE FORGIVEM. We are spotless and blameless . But if we are not following Jesus , not doing the will of God , committing sin that we know we shouldn’t be, not confessing, then ALL OF OUR UNRIGHTOEUSNES IS NOT BEING CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD. We are not in fellowship with the Fathee and need to REPENT before we get cut off the vine. Which is why Jesus said REMAIN IN ME.
      Hope this helps you understand where I am coming from and what the scriptures are really saying .

      Dakota Bledsoe This is also why we can say , we are NOT sinners. Scripture never calls a believer a sinner UNLESS HE IS SINNING AND IN WHICH CASE HE MUST REPENT OR his soul is in danger.
      We all HAVE sin(being continually removed) but we don’t have TO SIN.

    Paul says, "There is, THEREFORE, now no condemnation..." If you lift Romans 8:1 out of its context then you will have trouble trying to figure out what he means by this but in context, it makes total sense. When you see the word, "Therefore", you have to see what it's there for.
    Romans 7 is talking about a Christian who walks around focusing on sin all the time or focusing on what he has to do for God all the time instead of simply living by the Spirit. Cain was such a one. Cain was focused on what he had to do for God in this life. He was "in the flesh". Abel offered a superior sacrifice to Cain's because he offered it "by faith" (see Hebrews 11) and not as by works. Being "in the flesh" doesn't mean you're always overtly sinning all the time. You can be "in the flesh" in your service to God. Romans 7 is the picture of a person who is under such condemnation.
    And so, if you take Romans 8:1 IN CONTEXT then it makes sense. If you're in Christ (i.e. a Christian) and you're not walking in the Spirit (i.e. you are focused on crossing your religious T's and dotting your religious I's) - like Cain - then you ARE INDEED under condemnation. It's automatic and not judicial. In other words, your heart convicts you - not the Judge.

    I thought the holy Spirit and fire part (18:12) meant that the fire was symbolic for the trials and tribulations we will experience. I mean its not an easy transition from the wretch to holiness. And fire is often used symbolic for a cleansing and/or judgement of sorts. Im not sure where it was said but i remember a passage that says something like that our faith will be tested by fire. Maybe there is a link ?

      You’re talking about the judgment seat of Christ? Our works will he tested by fire (Not our souls). Christians will be judged, just not for our souls, but for the work we do for Christ for rewards in heaven.

    Mike I think it does teach something different if you have a wrong understanding of the added verse. It had to be added so that people would believe they had to "be good" so there would be no condemnation. To me it seems there was a deeper purpose to add it.

    Looks like you hit a nerve with this one, Mike. It seems like there are some who don't want believers to be free in Christ Jesus. They still want to put rules and regulations *of their own* upon us. I think that's called LEGALISM and it's really easy to fall into when you believe that we can actually *do anything at all* to earn or to keep our salvation. Personally, I still sin. But I'm SO thankful for the (usually) *INSTANTANEOUS CONVICTION* of the Holy Spirit when I do, and the knowledge that under the Shed Blood of Jesus, and the Mercy of God's Unending Forgiveness for those who are in Christ, I am not GUILTY anymore when I do. The difference from how I was before is, *I can no longer live a lifestyle of sin.* And, as I've grown in Christ and have learned to *really listen* to the Spirit, I often feel His conviction even BEFORE I do or say something I shouldn't. Thank you, Jesus, for all that you've done for those whom the Father has given to you. WE ARE THE WRETCHES TO WHOM THE SONG REFERS! And the ones who will be eternally glorifying You and singing Your praises for the AMAZING gift of Your GRACE.
    I've never understood how some people think that once they've become a follower of Christ, they will no longer sin. Does the Holy Spirit take over our bodies and control everything we think, say, and do, leaving us to just be meat-puppets with no will of our own any longer? *Oh, how I wish this were so!* But we still have to live within our imperfect, fallen, SINFUL natures. The Spirit DOES give us the strength to not sin, and our new nature, though still imperfect, causes us not to desire to sin the way we once did, but we're still free to ignore His voice when He says,
    "LISTEN TO ME. You do NOT want to say that/do that/think that."
    Not until we are WITH HIM will we be FULLY LIKE HIM -- perfected in all of our physical and moral faculties. I'd *love* to know where people get this idea that once someone becomes a Christian, they no longer sin -- period! And I'd love to know just WHO is preaching this doctrine now; what church or particular preacher/teacher/evangelist we can "thank" for this grievous error. It sounds like a WHOPPER of a misinterpretation to me -- *legalism on steroids, combined with a works-based system of righteousness, aaaaaaand a healthy dose of SELF-righteousness thrown in for good measure.       ThingsAreToughAllOver I think the problem is how one defines SIN or even better how the Bible defines sin. From what u wrote , I problay agree with you but I do not consider myself a sinner and I do not believe one has to sin. You say , “when” I (along with scripture) say “if”
      I believe that we all HAVE sin. That sin is being continually cleansed by the blood IF WE ARE FOLLOWING JESUS(walking by the Spirit) I’m talking about sin we are UNaware of ir have repented of (though we may not be completely delivered of yet)
      BUT IF WE SIN(willfully or afterwards acknowledge it) then we are a sinner UNTIL OF COURSE WE CONFESS AND RENOUNCE IT(repent) at which point we are FORGIVEN AMD STAY IN RIGHT FELLOWSHIP WITH THE FATHER(1john1:6-9)
      Johm writes in his epistles and gospel that we DO NOT HAVE TO SIN.
      So I think when some say they don’t sin, that’s what they mean.

      @Jem R I think you misunderstood what I meant. We are not perfect in the by any sense, that is why we if we are too caught up in do's and don'ts it takes our rest in Christ to the extremes. We try too much in our effort to be and don't rely on Christ's righteousness to make us whole in him.

      The holiness we think in that sense is the Mosaic law. It will not make anyone holy in that sense of the word. Doing good works is fine, like, helping someone in need or such like. Even someone who doesn't know God can do that.
      Even though you didn't say do's and don't , we still have moral law to our best by. 🙄

    I still am very confused and have been dealing with this for over a year now... I dont believe we have salvation if we are still sinning as a Christian. I believe abiding in Christ is walking in complete holiness toward God. I’m trying to understand the extent of Grace after sinning...

    I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
    I find it interesting that we are pointed out for supposedly "tearing pages out of the Bible", when many protestant groups are guilty of the same thing.
    Verses like 1 Peter 3: 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us
    And John 3: 3-7
    Mark 16: 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned
    These verses that if taken by themselves clearly show the need for baptism. Do all protestant groups read these verses and believe in the need for baptism? No! Well if they Bible states something so clearly how can the deny it? They use other verses in the Bible to work around reading these passages in the clearest way.
    Seems like tearing words out of the Bible.
    Each Christian denomination has it's own understanding and beliefs by which view they read the Bible. It's not a "Mormon" thing.
    The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches of a real God who can feel love for His children, who can cry for them when they are in pain, and who can laugh and joy with them when they are happy and follow Jesus.
    Mainstream Christianity teaches a God who can't be known and who can't feel emotion for us. The Bible teaches that God loves us, but because of Mainstream Christianity's view on God's nature God has not parts or passions.
    I know that God knows me and really loves me. His nature isn't so foreign unseen power. He wants us to accept His Son, Jesus Christ and become like Christ, and through Christ we can become like our Father in Heaven.

    I think you missed it a little here Mr. Mike. Going back to the original text it was in there. The newer the translations we get they become interpretations of a interpretation. If one was walking in the Spirit, they're trying to seek God with a repentance heart there's no condemnation. If not with pride and keep habitually sinning thinking that a once saved always saved mentality there walking after the flesh. They put the little wall that separates us from God back up. It's matter of the heart. When you were first saved it was wrong to think you were condemned because they're was a fear of the Lord( a respect). Only when the fear is not there is there a danger. It seems you when a little to far in thinking you have no part in the relationship. God will never go where HE'S not honored or welcome. I do however think you're still a good teacher, but you kinda got it wrong in this situation. Be blessed

      Thats just not a fair statement..I dont know which segment you are referring too..but the Bible doesnt have problems of that regard...the earliest known copies from the 1st and 2nd centuries confirm most of the Bible as being true to the original books and epistles....the Old Testament is beyond reproach...it is as the prophets recorded it...they literally have a whole system in place for centuries to guarantee a correct copy..this is when the Bible numbers conspiracy theories come from
      If the Mormon translation of the bible doesnt match..its because it is the one that has been altered and made up..not the Christian Bible..the earliest texts do not have the joe smith revisions..if that is presumptuous then forgive me
      Lastly, Romans 8:1 says there is no condemnation in Christ...the Bible is also very clear that faith is impossible without God doing all the work..so that none may boast Eph 2:9

    Once we are IN CHRIST is it possible to leave Christ? Can’t we deny the faith that we at one time were standing firm by? Can we choose (God forbid) to not walk after the Spirit at a later time in life ? We know that we still have a sinful nature that is battling the Spirit and Romans 6 says we are slaves to the one we obey. Most would agree that a Spirit filled believer can backslide. Can we not die in the state of walking in the flesh after receiving the Spirit?

    Mike, this is an old video so maybe you will not read my comment. I have a red flag on what you said about the Jews being saved the same way as we are. Paul speaks of a righteousness based on the Law, Leviticus 18:5 says
    New International Version
    5 Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.” So we can see there was a righteousness based on the Law which is what they had. There was no other way to be considered righteous since the Law of Faith had not come. After Jesus, there is a different way God will call us righteous and that is by faith in Jesus sacrifice. I doubt the Israelites understood that their Messiah was going to be rejected by them and crucified by the Romans.

      Death of the soul eternally… seoul is not a final destination and what happens after judgment is annihilation, not eternal suffering… whoever wishes not to be of God will simply be erased, nevermore to be. Before Christ all men were condemned to this fate but Jesus with his sacrifice opened a way back for salvation for eternal communion with God. Should you choose to follow Jesus you choose to follow God and God allows us a way back to Him through Jesus. Abraham was faithful but could not make a way back to God it was necessary for God to reconcile us to Him through Jesus Christ. God bless… read the scriptures and youll see what is right and true

    Mike, interesting analogy to pho lol! I have an issue with you on the age of accountability though. You will never find a verse in scripture to back that up. It is an emotionally driven doctrine that I have heard many times even in the reformed church. If you go back and listen to your lecture, you say you believe in an age of accountability, and then you give a story about a kid stealing and putting candy or whatever it was in his pockets!! Mike I get that we love kids and see an innocence about them, but if you have had children you know that as soon as they enter the world they are sinning immediately. Positionally it is harder for them to commit the sins of an adult, but if we are born in sin from the seed of Adam, which I know you agree with, then there is no such thing as an age of accountability. Just find one verse, it is just not there. God bless you brother, this is not a rebuke, but iron sharpens iron, Amen?

      Well, I think the reason why "it's just not there" is because it's different for everyone, and God is MERCIFUL. If He had established a "cut-off" that applies to everyone across the board, people like our sons, for example -- both of whom have Down syndrome (and the younger is also on the Autism spectrum and is completely non-verbal. He's nine years-old and has never uttered one word, sinful or otherwise) would be unjustly sent to Hell.
      Those who have the intellectual capacity to understand that they're sinning against a Holy God at a young age *will be held accountable* once they can acknowledge it. God knows each and every one of us and what we can be held accountable for. But what about those who will never have that ability?
      At what age do you think a young man of say...fifteen, *who DOES know right from wrong in EARTHLY terms,* but who has an IQ of around 52 and can only comprehend things in a very concrete way, will be able to comprehend what it means to wilfully sin against a Holy God? When should HE be held accountable? And at what age do you believe that a child who is unable to even have his IQ tested because there are no tests available for children who can't look you in the eye or carry on a conversation, much less understand theology?
      Dr. Michael Heiser explains it quite well, and if I could find the podcast where I heard him talk about it, I'd link it here. But I can't find it in my history. His website is drmsh.com, and you may be able to search for it there if you're interested. Anyway, he believes that while we are all born with a *sin nature* inherited from Adam, we are not all born *guilty of sin.* How can we be GUILTY OF SIN if we've never yet committed a sinful act? A merciful God does not condemn newborns, infants, toddlers, small children, and/or those without the mental capacity to understand, to an eternity in Hell. There IS an age when each of us WILL come to understand, *but until we reach that age* God doesn't hold us accountable.
      I realize that my story of our sons is anecdotal and they're not typical boys who know right from wrong, but what I'm trying to say is, *God knows the motivations of each of our hearts.* HE gets to be the Decider of who can be held accountable and at what age, and I do believe this can be supported by Scripture, if not spelled-out specifically in one verse or passage. It's arrived at more through knowing that God is inherently JUST and MERCIFUL, as well as a right understanding of the doctrine of Federal Headship.

    LET HIM WHO THINKS HE STANDS FIRM TAKE HEED LEST HE FALL(1cor10:12). We can have assurance(if we are IN CHRIST, living by faith, BY THE SPIRIT). But we must see the POSSIBILTY of falling. I don’t live in fear, but I know better than to think nothing could ever happen and that I couldn’t fall away. Paul knew this could happen to him but he had confidence he was going to be glorified . (1cor.9:27). (2tim4:7). That’s why he FOUGHT the good fight and kept a clear conscience , so that he would be counted WORTHY OF ETERNAL LIFE.(luke20:35)(acts24:,15,16)

    37:20. Mike denounced something that is crystal clear in The Bible. Jeremiah 1:5 is clear that Jeremiah lived before he was in his mother's womb. The story of Adam's creation doesn't disprove that. Our bodies are dead without our spirit. Adam's body wasn't alive until his spirit was sent into his body when God breathed the breath of life into him.

    I think the KJV uses "holy ghost" more often than "holy spirit." It also says hell instead of sheol. Proverbs 15:11 KJV:

    You cannot skip the warnings in Ephesians 5. To be in Christ is to abide in Him, to produce fruit worthy of repentance.
    That's why someone who is abiding in Him will not be condemned. You walk in the spirit, (Gal 2:20, John 15:1-5) and not the flesh. Paul tells us in Romans 8 as well, those who remain in their flesh are enemies of God.
    On Romans 7, it is not about the struggle of our flesh against the spirit, it's Paul telling us the law cannot free us from this body of sin and death, on which He ends telling us Christ came to free us from sin and death. This is the end of a book end between Romans 6 and Romans 8.
    From Jesus:
    [Jhn 15:1-6 NKJV] 1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every [branch] that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 "I am the vine, you [are] the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned.
    If we abide in Him we are walking in the spirit, we've put our wretched flesh to death, and it is Him living not I. If I do not abide in Him, then He will throw me out to be burned.
    [Mat 7:15-19 NKJV] 15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 "You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor [can] a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
    If I bear bad fruit, I will be cut down and cast in to the fire.
    [Rom 11:22 NKJV] 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in [His] goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
    If I do not continue in His goodness He will cut me off.
    The same warning in three different places, and two of them from our Lord Jesus. This is why Paul still tells us we must still fear God.
    [Eph 5:20-21 NKJV] 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.
    In fact, even if you use one of the modern translations, it doesn't change the context. Let's look and compare.
    [Rom 8:5-9 NASB] 5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
    This is walking in the spirit, versus walking in the flesh. The truth of the matter is if you rebuild what was destroyed then Christ's blood no longer covers our transgressions. In other words, it's justifiable to feel condemned if you sin. This is the point of 1 John 1:8 to 1 John 2:2. This is not however meant to be the permanent state of the Christian walk. 1 John 2:3-5, 1 John 3:4-10.
    Sin and repent shows the signs that you need to get right with God. 2 Co 7:9-11. Without godly sorrow and repentance leading to salvation, there is no salvation.
    We have this false idea not only of eternal security, as I've seen Christians that don't confess that belief, believe the only sin that can turn them away from God is unbelief in Jesus. That's not what Paul warns.
    [Gal 5:16-25 NASB] 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
    He compares what walking in the flesh looks like, to walking in the spirit. Note the warning to _believers_ in Galatia. If they continue to walk in their flesh, they will not inherit the kingdom of God.

      In John 10, it says once you are His, NO ONE can snatch you out of His hand again. No one. And "repent" means to do a 180 and go the other direction from the one you're on.

      Dakota Bledsoe I understand what brother Mike Winger Is saying , I just don’t agree with him here and the popular understanding on this in the church today. Nevertheless he is a great teacher and agree with him on most things. OSAS is a lie of the devil which has crept Into the church and casing much havoc.

    *Muslims do not affirm the bible.* *We simply say the original message of Jesus can be found in the bible although the bible got corrupted, yet by using a critical eye, you can see that the most important teaching of Jesus in your bible to get the eternal life is with Islam not Pauline christianity.* Check it yourself.

      To confirm, the Word of Allah cannot be corrupted. But the Christians don not have the Gospel given to Isaa (ع) they even affirm this themselves. None of the books in the New Testament were authored by God himself. Most are even written by Paul who never even met Isaa!

      The Lord God Almighty used men as His vessels to write His Word but that does not make it any less of God. Please compare the trustworthiness of the Bible and Quran. Are there any discrepancies? Contradictions? Failed prophecies? You will find the Bible time and time again proves itself true! Jesus Christ was a real man who lived in the 1st century and was a carpenter, not only that but the most undeniable fact about Him that scholars (atheist and not atheist) agree on is the fact He was crucified on a cross under Pontius Pilate. The Gospels of His life are incredibly accurate and the manuscripts for the Gospels are more than any other work of antiquity!
      My own life is proof Jesus Christ is real and the Son of God! He SAVED me!! Stop fighting against Him but come to Him! He loves you and died for you. In Him alone is eternal life. I love you and He loves you so much more.
      Trust Him alone for your salvation and to be right with God. Your own works can never be enough to save you before the Holy God. ✝️❤️

    God gave Adam and Eve one easy law, there's one tree out of hundreds if not thousands, DO. NOT. EAT. THE. FRUIT. They ate it.
    Let alone 10 commanments, we're wicked, since the first time I break one law, if it's not because of hope in Jesus there's no reason for me to live. God wants perfection, one sin means hell.
    Jesus is the only way.

    ‘Son’ in Hebrew is metaphorical. The new and Old Testament call nearly all prophets God’s son. Is David, Abraham, Solomon etc. god’s son literally?! of course not! Have some common sense. Why do you think Jews deny that God has any sons yet call the mighty prophets the sons of God?! Because it’s metaphorical.. God is far supreme to have a son. When the New Testament was translated into Greek, the Greeks and their philosophy took ‘son’ as literal.. hence you’re pagan idolatry!!

      Maybe you should seek out the passages where the Bible talks about “the angel of God” and how there usually is a presentation where both God and “the angel of God” are presented as different and yet the same and this is present in the old testament in other statements as well. This is a presentation of the relationship of God and Jesus before incarnation.
      On regards of the usage of son… many fail to understand what it means and what is the reason it is used. But definitely it is not meant to be taken materialistically where we take sonship as a relationship between a procreator and a seed, however, since Jesus is everlasting and has always existed in the Father, with the Father then the humanistic interpretation of son is not useful or correct. God cannot be “son” of himself. However, humans need words and concepts and we cant hold the true meaning of Creation so, for our sake and understanding, Jesus is the son of God… more over Jesus is meant to represent us, sons of God, and He dies for us in our form. It is impossible to convey this is writing simply and cant be understood if the Bible is not taken in earnest. But, regardless, your interpretation of sonship is a miss understanding and, hence, false, please read the scriptures and believe in the one God that is bigger than what men can understand

      Why though are you taking it out of context? Who is he actually talking to? Look at 1 John 2:12. Our sins are forgiven. Verse 1.
      He is rebuking them for sinning.

      afterraincomessun iagree . I think it’s both. We can revive this “positional standing” IN VAIN. He declares us Holy when we WERE sinners after we repentend and out our faith in Christ and received forgiveness.NOW WE ARE OBLIGATED to be holy(rom8:12,luke17:10 among many scriptures show this)

    It is not the law that is changed but it is the way we are treated as sinners :

    sin is stil sin when you practice it Mike but forgiveness is through Jesus sacrifice for those unintentianal sins .
    The law literally is not working ( But now we have been discharged from the Law,) but now more than ever we live according to the principles behind the law!

      the bible makes a discrimination between the sins that we all have and that not deserve death but the bible is very clear that we as CHRISTIANS who are the salt of the earth , should be able to control ourselves and avoid sinning like these sins:
      16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
      17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

      17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

      well you could say that we ARE condemned for it but our faith in Christ and his sacrifice is like painting the blood of the lamb on our doorposts : we do however our utmost to avoid sin :
      26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
      27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
      28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
      29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
