This guy!! What an artist! He makes it look so simple. That's the mark of a true master. I wonder when he started making sandals? They're beautiful too. I am in the middle of making a simple pair of moccasins. It's so hard! My hat is off to this gentleman.
I loved and worked in India for a year. I must have clocked more than 10,000 miles, travelling extensively, partially due to my work and partially due to my personal curiosity. Artisans with their craftsmanship is amazing. Dexterity of these people is mind boggling. To think that this man's ancestors go back to 10,000 years living in that place passing technology from father to son...Tamil Nadu is original India. Most inhabitants are the original inhabitants. Great Craftsmanship ...keep up the good work. We, in Europe, have lost the art of dexterity ...his fingers are nimble ...
I don't usually like or make a comment on RUclips videos, but somehow i feel this special and idk why my eyes are wet, great work and still underrated, wish I could get everything Indian made like this
Ohhhh,Man!!!!.I really enjoyed every second of this video!!!.Watching this so skillful Leather Chappals working his best,is really fascinating!!.I was absolutely delighted seeing how he used every tool, and how he was working like magic, while he was manufacturing those chappalas.Even,I loved very much, that rooster, singing in the back.Greetings from America!!.
WOW!!! that was great to watch your chappall made right in front of your eyes, pure hardworking gentleman with a super great talent. Will sell for just enough to feed his family for one day end that's because so many will bargain & haggle with him, yet if this was sold by a top designer brand people wouldn't think twice for paying 20X the amount he's going to sell this on for.
Made in india 🙏 make in India ❤️ support indian hard work, very beautiful.. making available in Amazon and flipkart will be nice and making video's on different versions of same will bring more value ❤️🙏.
Would be awesome if they could make a store on amazon to buy those. I have a very hard time finding sandals big enough for my feet and would love to buy a pair of that gentleman's if there was a way. I would much rather support Indian craftsmen like him than ch ina.

My higher respect for this artisan. These humble craftsmen must be preserved and be in care for their communities and specially from the wealthiest people and government before they dissapear.

My Son-in-law is from Mexico (legally immigrated here at 4y/o 40 years ago, & all are now VERY PROUD LEGAL American citizens) & he, my daughter & my grandchildren go to Mexico every year for vacation; EVERY year they beg me to go, but I refuse, & stay home & care for all the animals & home. This summer I might go; I told my daughter if she'll pay for me a pair of brown sandals made for my feet, I'll go. She ecstatic! I have very hard-to-fit feet; I'm Native American, & (most of) our feet are very narrow in the heel & wide at the toes, plus I have extremely high arches & very VERY low profile ( like a triangle & long & skinny) too. As it's difficult to get comfortable shoes that fit & won't fall off (low profile makes flip-flops 'baggy' & extremely loose on top), I'd love to have one pair of brown leather sandals that fit me!! I'm going to Mexico!!!! LOL!
With this speed He can make 3 chapals in an hour. If the minimum cost of per chapal is Rs. 300 when he works for 8 hours a day, he makes 24 chapals/day and he earns Rs. 7200/day. If he works with this speed for 25 days in a month, 8 hrs/ day producing 24 units/day He earns 7200 X 25 = 180000. Therefore his monthly income is 1.8 Lakh in a month. Let's deduct 80k for cost of input, he will still make 1 Lakh a month. Respect for all hard working man regardless of their skills. 🙂
