I love this song. I play it for my two lil grandson's they like the beat of the drum and get into the dancing. For I am Jicarilla Apache , and I to love to go to powwows. Keep up the traditions for they are dying out. It's good to pass the traditions on to our young for they will keep it going on in the future.

As a whitie tought in the public fool system, I too thought these songs and chants were waring songs. I think I was very wrong! What I now find is that I get a wonderful vibration resenating through out my body when listening to this wonderful music. I feel the heart and sole and the love of Mother Earth herself. Some times it's good to be wrong about something.

There are certain songs sung to honor our veterans that served for Canada and the U.S.A. In that case, the first part of this video was a flag song. A song like that recognizes not only the flags of today but also First Nations (Native American) peoples flags which are eagle staffs, also the war veterans. I am glad your point of view has changed. Each song that is sung around a drum has meaning, and I am glad to see that whites are enjoying our songs. These songs are sung in the F.N (Native American) languages which I find so pure and beautiful. Thank you for sharing and I hope you have learned something new.

I didn't find out until this weekend that my great grandmother was Northern Cree. I working on my fifth writing genre at University of Victoria, BC. I'm 70 years old and a dyslexic, too. My ancestors tried to hide my Cree heritage because they were high up in British society. That was a real shame. I love writing stories, outdoors and gardening. That's for showing me my heritage!
