  • In 2023, The Simpson McCreath Trust pledged £5,000 to assist The Grove School - a special needs school in Berwick-upon-Tweed - in the renovation of two classrooms to expand and improve the kitchen facilities.
This, in turn, has helped the children in those classes with their baked potato business, which involves the students selling baked potatoes that they make to staff members. The students are then able to spend the money that they earn by selling the baked potatoes on trips out of school of their choice - such as to the cinema - which provides them with important life skills.
In this video, Headteacher Penny Derries explains more about The Grove School and the project itself, how it has benefited the students while also expressing her appreciation to The Simpson McCreath Trust and the other organisations who helped to fund the project.
The local communities around our eight sites in the United Kingdom are incredibly important to us and we’re proud to have an esteemed history of supporting a variety of clubs, schools, groups, organisations and charities.
That support can be from the company via the Simpsons Malt or McCreath Simpson & Prentice brands, while we also have a charitable arm, The Simpson McCreath Trust (registered no. 1126805).
