  • I had a fascinating discussion with the wonderful Dr. David Hamilton. We talked about the benefits of showing kindness-both to others and ourselves. We also acknowledged the powerful effect the words we use and the pictures we make have on our mental health.

If you love yourself, you love others too, if you hate yourself, you hate others too, in a relationship with others it is just you, mirrored🙏

It is easy being kind to others. The challenge, I found, is being kind to oneself.

"asking someone with postpartum depression to give yourself a shake is like asking someone with a broken hip to run it off" So true! I love the way you put this Dr. Hamilton.

I agree (no to be naive about false/narcissistic kindness tho). However, following the ending of an emotionally abusive relationship and being abandoned by many close friends and family and after several years you are again brought to yourself and one realizes there is no stronger activism them being present and kind to you immediate surrounding. Thank you Marisa

@tina I understand you. But I learned, we outgrow people, just like outfits when we get mature, or walk towards a goal they don’t share in common. It’s their issues. Some are manipulative, others are controlling, others don’t care. So if the don’t align with our path they become hurtful, defensive, or abusing. These are our training days for our future success. We just don’t see it as such until we look back. Almost every time we see the same pattern. The difference is, do we let it make us bitter and resentful? Or do we listen to others, and go through it making an effort to be joyful no matter what happens looking at the positive side? Perseverance. Conscious decision to make it happen for yourself.

You two are just amazing I love this ! 🤝 Marisa your my favourite human 🤩 I listen to you every morning why I’m getting ready for work to when I get home from work before I go to bed ✨ you have helped me find my selfworth to realise I am enough 🎯 & more importantly love myself from the inside out 🥰 never again will I ever settle for less than I deserve! Self care is key 🔐
Kindness is absolutely the best feeling for me 🤩 my friends at work cannot believe how positive I am from the horrendous life I’ve come from as a child & they always tell me I’m kind as I throw compliments out like confetti ✨ buy them flowers 💐 if they look sad & tell them how beautiful they look 💯 & that feeling is priceless to see someone go from sadness to smiles ✨ for me kindness is so under rated! It’s took 53 years to find myself & i would love to so what you do it’s my dream & I will achieve it 😘😘
