I'm pro Wade on this one. 4 stages into a 10 stage match this summer, went fainty and medic told our RO to withdraw me for heat exhaustion. I was on blood pressure medicine that dehydrates (nobody ever told me this). Several people gave me their electrolyte packs that day, recovered enough to drive us home in truck A/C after a few hours, took more than a week to really start feeling right. Now before a mountain or hot match, I drink up pedialite a few days prior even and don't take blood pressure medicine day of match. No issues whatsoever since. I drank nearly a gallon of water that morning, it does absolutely nothing without the electrolyte help. This is so freaking important.
Yes you can tighten a tourniquet to tight. If it's going to be on a long period and the extremity is attached it needs a small amount of blood flow generally. Situations vary
I keep a pretty good size med kit with me. Im always adding stuff if i find some use for it and it makes more sense to me then not having it in. I mainly have things for gunshot wounds and cuts and things.
RATS tourniquette from my medic- $20, smaller and more versatile than a cat tq. I just got a kit from them with chest patches, a rats tq and other bleed stop gear, its pry 4x5x7" in a molle pouch. I also got a seperate rats tq for edc. Im a slaughter man and work by myself, i like to have one with me at work and while hunting. I think a cold pack is very viable in a heat injury environment, a large heat pad would be just as viable in cold environs. Ive always carried minor first aid gear, but ive recently gotten more prepared to perform serious life saving aid. Ive gotten that knowledge from my local shooting range, who offer first aid training as part of their curriculum.
*Brooke nervously cancelling all remote trips to Alaska. "What's the reason for your cancellation?" "My man seems way to excited about eating me for survival" 😂😂
Oh and a codod pack isngreat ti have around. Especially the ones that they are dry then to make them work you break something inside of it usually by snapping it or smashing something. Those work really well and can last a ling time. I have both. Yes u uave the ild school blue back that you feel with ice 😂.
Yes electrolytes are essential. Dehydration can bring you to your knees and make even the smallest tasks near impossible. Also yes, the cats will eat you haha
The Mess Kit in the background made this episode particularly hilarious. Well done.
This may have been the best of the best. Very good episode

Ice pack 100% goes in the med kit. Electrolyte mix just goes in whatever bottle you’ve got water in
You guys awesome! 😂
Great to finally get to put a face to the name Brooke!
She's awesome!
And she's HILARIOUS!!

😂😂😂. With the exception of the Clay Reid episodes, possibly the funniest episode yet !!!
Brooke , we thank you for keeping our idiot hero alive ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ice packs leak and causes a huge mess.
Look into snake staff tourniquet your small lightweight and they can even go small enough for a child or an animal

She’s a tough one.

She’s so much sharper than him.
Not without her mother.
I would have been way better for this podcast than kyle
You're so jealous...
