Love it Rik. Chicken à la King was a regular on my high school's cafeteria menu. (Yours looks WAY better!)
All the best.
Cheers Eric - Best, Rik
Always bought school lunch on that day along with school spaghetti and Sloppy Joe's.
Never had the choice like that growing up in the UK. Best, Rik
@@BackyardChef your recipe looks delicious. 👌
Thank you
My granny made this , with tinned chicken in white sauce, and tinned or frozen veg. She served it over buttered toast points, with a side of french beans. It's pretty much the chicken version of SOS, from a bygone time. x
Good memories and Grannies know best. Best, Rik
Thank you so much for the alternative way of making a roux--as in using cornstarch. Can't wait to try this out!
Thank you. Best, Rik
I remember this from the grade school cafeteria in Minnesota in the 1970s. Was. One of the better dishes they served.
Thanks for sharing. Thank you. Best, Rik
That's a great quick meal!
Thank you. Best, Rik
Such a well named dish, fit for a king 😅 as are all your recipes Rik 😊x
Thank you. Best, Rik
Yours is the deluxe version of what my mama made. I have eaten my weight in it over the years and still love it. Mama put a jar of pimentos in hers instead of the fresh pepper. This will be on this week’s menu for sure.
Thanks for sharing great memories. Thank you. Best, Rik
One of my favourites though I learnt about this dish through a friend at school who's mom was from England this was around 1970's and she made this for a lunch for us on toast and after that I had it on rice and was hooked ever since. Thank you for sharing Rick had quiet forgotten this dish, will be making this tonight.
Hope you enjoy. Thank you. Best, Rik
@@BackyardChef Was delicious, every one finished it.

Hey Roger - yes mate I remember your request - its here and I can tell you I'm Stuffed. The Sherry was a shocker to buy out here 900 and some baht. Best, Rik
Could I ask you, what sherry did you buy and where you got it. Maybe you should start rural mail order, 555
This looks delicious! I will give this recipe a try this upcoming week! Thank you for sharing :).
Thank you. Best, Rik
Found this mouthwatering recipe.
Hope you enjoy. Best, Rik
Mom served it over toast.
Thank you. Best, Rik
Nice, one of my old favourites. Reminds me of my mum 😢 Usually have it on toast or puff pastry case
Nice memories of Mum. Best, Rik
Rik that looks awesome! I’ll need to ditch the mushrooms though as my OH doesn’t like them! 🙄lol
Cheers me dears - always adjust to your own taste that's the best thing in cooking - by the way love the 68 comeback icon pic. I've been a fan from a kid. Best, Rik
Thanks Rik! I’m a big Elvis fan. Was lucky enough to go to Memphis last year. Elvis and all the stuff at Graceland was amazing but I wasn’t impressed with the food over there. If it wasn’t burger and fries it was BBQ pulled pork with everything! lol Struggled to get a decent cup of tea too! 😮☕️
Youve walked where i havent mate - one day!! Best, Rik
I would of liked the chicken cut a bit smaller, otherwise looked really good.
Thank you. Best, Rik
yuke rice? Only noodles for me!! Never seen it served with rice.
Rice, noodles, Pasta the 3 main. Good job we all can make a choice. Best, Rik
@@BackyardChef Rice, always. That looks absolutely divine, Rik. I'll be making this during the week, might even get daring and serve it with garlic butter rice 👌
Top idea. Best, Rik
