    Just happened to me. Luckily I saw a similar video a while ago and caught on to it or I would've been scammed for 50 dollars. Guy got something for 3 dollars and was holding a bunch of 50s. He gave me one so I have him 47 back. Then he looks at it and acts confused and was like oh sorry man I meant to give you the 20 can I have the 50 back? I was like sure so he gives me 2 20s a 5 and 4 1s. Then as I'm counting he goes I think I may have given you a dollar less here's another one. Matter of fact while your register is open give me that 100 take this 50 as well. At first I thought he was just confused so I was like no this doesn't add up and he realized it won't work he was like it's all good nvm. Such trashy people who do this to cashiers knowing very well they're just ripping off some poor guy who'll end up paying the loss out of his own pocket. Worst of the worst trashy people who will always be stuck in this loop of poverty and fraud. Also he was doing all this at peak rush hour with a bunch of customers behind him so that he could confuse me more!

      the exact same thing happened to me!! it didn’t work on me because after a while i just stared at him and didn’t do anything, then of course he got mad and stormed off, i’m 16 so i’m assuming he thought i’d be the easiest to scam. it makes me so mad though because other cashiers who got scammed probably were too tired to realize what was happening, and then they can lose their job because their till doesn’t match up. such a gross thing for people to do.

      I had a few do this at McDonald's years back, but at a smaller amount ($3-$5). After I rang them up and the transaction was done, they then give me some extra coins or bills to even their change out and I refused to. I gave them the change the register listed and that's that. I got plenty of customers pissed, but I sensed they were trying to cheat me. Didn't want to deal with the managers raising hell for being $3 short at the end of the shift.

      Yeah but a lot of times it’s really
      Young teens who are at their first job, and when the person is nice and seems to be giving them change for their drawer they do it..... it’s as simple as me getting back 48 bucks, adding two bucks to it, saying “you can probably use this change more than me why don’t you give me that 50 back, after you do that I give you the 48, you count it and say that’s only 48 not 50, I say my bad here’s two more singles, (so we are even now and they are confused)then they count it again and it adds up to fifty, then I take out another 50 and put it on top of the 59 they just counted and say “here’s ANOTHER 50 so why don’t you just give me a 100” so you are really giving them their 50 back plus another 50 from the drawer.... the reason you give them 48 back the first time is to make them think that they caught an error, which they did of 2 bucks, but they aren’t thinking big enough.... the person has to be naive,,,,, my young niece just got a job I should try it with her to see if she gets tricked by it..... obviously I wojld actually do it but just test her

      I fell for this when I was younger and my manager was right there and didn't say a word. They had to explain it to me multiple times how I got conned before it clicked ... Then proceed to write me up and I refused to sign, made my statement to include that management was right there, watching the whole thing and not saying a word. I let upper management get involved and the silent manger got written up and STILLI did not sign the write up. This was at Factory 2U and they closed their doors and 1.5 years later. Around the same time, I was working at a Shell station, stoned AF and this dude tried doing it and I was still confused but instead of letting him scam me in my confused state, I shut it all down. Cancelled the transaction, gave his money back and told him to take his scam elsewhere. He got mad and threatened to tell my manager so I volunteered to call the store manager at his house right then and there. He backed down and I got to enjoy the rest of the night, stoned and proud of myself for not falling victim to that scam again. Ngl though... It's still confusing and I've excited it IRL and watched this video 3 or 4 times tonight and still don't see it.

Then customer uses same $10 from earlier money exchange to get cashier to give back a total of $20. Either way cashier has less in drawer. If you take some time to explain, I'd appreciate to better understand.

      This trick us as old as the hills. Where ever money has been used for trade.
      In the 'Paper Moon' movie, with Ryan O'neal & his daughter Tatum, they set about swindling people set in 1930's Depression era - & this slick scam showed up when they confuse store clerks.

    Why am i so confused
    He gives 8 ones to cashier
    Cashier gives him
    10 dollar bill
    Cashier says “i only got 8” so u give cashier 2 more bucks to make the 10 n then use the 10 they gave u n ask for 20
    Wouldn’t the store have lost 10 not 8??
    R did i miss something? Im extremely bad at math obviously lol

    • @kaykatt
      @kaykatt 2 года назад +1

      I walk in store
      But $2 item with a 10 n store gives me 8 ones
      I give store 8 ones n they give me a 10 dollar bill
      They notice i only gave 8 so i gove 2 more to make it even
      So now i have the 10 bill n they have the 10 ones because i made it right by giving him the $2 on top of the 8
      I then point at the 10 omes i gave cashier n hold up the 10 they gave me and ask for a 20
      They give me a 20
      I gave them 10 ones in the end
      So os it not they lost ten instead of 8?

      The scammer gave 10 ones and the clerk gave him 10 dollars. But then the scammer asked for a 20 with the his 10 and the clerks 10. Pocketing an extra 10 dollars. And since the clerk didnt complete the transaction he thought that the 10 ones he were holding was the scammers money.

    • @adame1871
      @adame1871 3 года назад

      To avoid the scam just count the money he gives you before you give him a 10 back. That way he won’t confuse you into giving him more money. So when he gets the 9 dollars he should’ve made sure it was 10 dollars before giving him a 10 dollar bill. And after both people have the 10 dollars it’s over.

      Firt I dindt get it, but pay atention on the transaction. When the guy gave him 2 extra dollars, the transaction was closed, but he also gave the cashier 10 dollars which now has 20 in his hands, but 10 are from last transaction, so the guy got a 10 dollars bill for a 20

    I knew 2 guys who were traveling across the country I live in and literally making $600 - $900 a day no BS doing this
    I know exactly how it is done i've done it myself I actually failed the first few times then on my 3rd or 4th time I got an extra $40.00 lol
    the best part is if they catch you then you just apologize and pretend you didn't mean for it to happen and give the money back and leave. 🤷🏼‍♂
