Never realized how the screen could be removed when inserted into window channel. Thought only way was sliding it up. Glad you showed the other way to remove screen. It made me switch to a slider versus a hopper.
Hey mike just put in basement windows. Used your older video's to help me out. I lucked out on a window deal and bought 8. I had to bring the sill up around 4 inches, which I wanted since the sills were close to ground level. I formed it and used quickcrete mix. Pardged smooth after. After taking out old wood around opening I had half of inch on both sides worked out great. Thanks for all your videos they help out greatly. Also after watching your videos last year I fixed a large area on front porch, flagstone. Turned out better than I ever could of imagined. Looks like professional job. Thanks again.
your videos are always super helpful, I am currently repointing my stone foundation after having watched your whole series and will soon be replacing a basement window with your help. Thanks a million!

Mr. Mike I have a question please. My question is, since concrete isn't water proof, how qre you stopping any peaks around the window? Do you put chaulk or silicone around the joints? Thanks

Mike, I didn't see how you finished the top. Did you pack that with the mortar mix just like the bottom or other than the screws, I'm presuming into a wooden lintel, how did you weather seal that? Thanks for all the great content over the years.
Great video, but the way you did it is a band aid. (I know from experience.) Several years later I had to redo it, using a LATEX BONDING AGENTS FOR CONCRETE before laying down the concrete will stop the old concrete from falling apart. This is pre-1965 concrete. They use too much sand, and not enough ash or concrete in the mix.
Hi swampy, I been doing this over 50 years and haven't had a callback on any of my window installations, as far as plaster I give them their choices, I say wait 30 days and paint with a good masonry paint, and then maybe down the road they will have to put on another coat, but I never had a problem, thanks Mike

Hi Mike, the city did some work at my house today and pour new concrete on the sidewalk. Should I be wetting it and if so how much. Thank you, Mike. Be well.
Hey Mike, just wondering what mix you would recommend for parging near niagara falls, ON? Would 2 mason sand to 1 portland be a good mix? Just wondering if the sand would absorb a lot of moisture which might end up seeping into the foundation and eroding it over time?

In Germany this wouldn't meet code. You cannot have possible uncontrolled airleaks. Mortar and the frame don't stick to each other so it wont be airtight the way you show it here.
