  • Bob shows you how to easily change out a basement window, even if it's the wrong size. We recently arrived at a Hatfield, Pennsylvania home of a long time customer who is also a DIYer. This client measured and ordered their own vinyl replacement window for their basement but soon became intimidated by the process and called on us for yet another project.
The problem encountered in this job was the width of the window as measured perfectly, but the height was off by about 1 1/4 inches; too short, that is!
For windows that are too big for the opening, it's a totally different process and not covered in this video.
If you have a basement window that needs to be changed out, order it 1/4in narrower than the smallest measurement of the opening width and height and shim it in place when you change it before screwing it in.
Enjoy this video where I not only change the window, but instruct my 20 year old daughter Kitana on how to do it.
Don't forget to subscribe, like the video so that RUclipss algorithms rank my video and share it because I'm sure some of your contacts might be interested.
And if you don't have this job on your honey do list, at least enjoy learning how to change out a basement window, even if its the wrong size.
Have a great day, thanks for stopping in and be safe!
    Bob
