- In the fall of 1888, the East End of London was terrorized by a string of brutal murders. The victims were all impoverished women who lived on the margins of accepted society. The murders occurred at night, and there were no witnesses, no clues, no perceivable motives. The police were at a loss and the murderer was never caught. With time, these brutal crimes have been attributed to “Jack the Ripper,” a serial killer whom no one has ever identified. In this talk, Jill Bender will place the crimes and the proposed suspects into historical context and explore what the unsolved case of “Jack the Ripper” tells us about late-Victorian society.
I guess case will forever remain officially unsolved, but that doesn't mean we don't have a pretty good idea who the killer was. QC James Scobie agrees as well. It is laid out in documentary "JTR:Missing Evidence" (with QC James Scobie appearing at the end).
