Mark this bind
Not gonna lie. This is probably the best thing I've seen on Yt in years! Awesome work!
Very useful and clear. Thank you.
Does Elmer's glue work for book cloth? Thank you.
Why use the plastic ready corner when one can use book cloth? By the way, where can one buy good quality book cloth? Thank you.
As she said, possibly to avoid covering artwork.
@Boppity-Boo thank you
Abrupt ending.
Here in 2025, I'm trying to repair the spine of a black book from 2010. The book is covered in stickers with the names of people who were around between 2010 and 2015. SFV + LA Painters.
Very helpful video. I learned a lot. Thank you!
Thank you -- -- this is useful guidance ! 😊❤
Great ADHD triggered lol. I thought paper was just a slurry pressed and dried, no idea it had a grain direction like wood. Now I am off to learn all about paper, paper types and paper grain.😅
Thanks ❤
Can you cover an entire page with the heat set tissue? AND can you apply the tissue while the page is inside the book?
Wait what? Simple ass basic Elmer’s glue works?
Where can I get the materials from in UK
I love this, but for goodness sake, use millimetres, much easier and accurate.
Very pertinent information, For those who study Archivology or Librarianship😊😂
Wonderful. Thank you.
My 406 page Sears & Winwood medical text book has been a gem of knowledge since I found it at a second hand book shop for dirt cheap years and years ago. After using it myself countless times the spine now looks like it needs surgery. I hope your video can save it.
Thank you so much for your guidance.
That was twenty years ago. They use glossy magazines and band aids these days, Mark 😂
May I ask why you use Elmers/PVA instead of wheat or starch paste for over/under tears? I heard that wheat/starch paste mends stronger than PVA?
Awesome! Thank you!
So helpful! Thank you
yeah but what glue?
Im a junk journal maker and planning on using some of my.canvas painting work to cover the front and back...but couldnt find anything on how to deal with the spine... As the canvases to not go all the way across...this gives me an idea tho...thanks... Yes i know u would be horrified at the binding technique but its art not just a book.
Which adhesive used in spine?
Which glue is used?
Lois Lenski was an American treasure. Her talent is vast, artist, author, and songwriter.
Which glue to use??
I am nothing like my father, and so much like him. I started on a path to becoming a paleontologist, but I’m a Botanist. Joseph Mountjoy is a pioneer in his area of Archaeological Research in my opinion!
Holy moly this is my uncle ❤ I’ve never seen him except in pictures 😭👋.
Thank you for this concise, professional video. I came here for the repair, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading the comments. I thought I was a lone dinosaur who still loves books over the text on a screen. So glad to know there are others of us as well!
Thos tabs ruined the book. Everything else was great
Thank you so much !
Complimenti vento bene
wow you are amazing and truely a professional perfectionist!
Todo o trabalho em Arquivo é fascinante, mas a parte de conservação e restauro é a menina dos meus olhos. É um trabalho incrível! Recomendo a visita à instituições que possuam o setor.
Excellent work.👍
Thank you! I was just gifted a very old cookbook with a spine that's falling apart and now I feel confident enough to fix it!
Excellent information and presentation. Thank you!
Excellent. Exactly what I was looking for. Simple and concise.
I haven't trues it yeat and it seems that its gonna be helpful i hope it works
Si la caméra avait été positionnée dans le bon angle, la vidéo aurait été plus intéressante à regarder. Dommage.
You posted a link to the “resources”. But it wasn’t the resources at all. Just please post a simple list of the materials in the description of the video.
Great tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to show us. Question: what is the adhesive you used to prepare the new spine?
Very nice!!
Hi is there any fix for a dent in a spine?
super beautiful video! many thanks! Only one nitpick: was abruptly terminated, I wish she showed her marvellous work at the end.
A detailed and well presented video, thank you. Greetings from Australia.
That would be awkward trying to iron a page in a book. Space would be an issue.
