Great video. You are lucky to have a truck not in the rust belt, I couldn't believe how clean it's under there! I have a 2011 Chevy silverado with the 4x4 so not sure I have enough beers to tackle this myself.
@@alberta59 Thanks for watching!! I have seen what the Minnesota/Wisconsin winters will do to a vehicle. The 4 wheel drive is a much bigger task, but there are some guys that have done it. Good luck.
I really enjoyed this video. Well done, sir! And yes, it is the same as in the GMT 800 6.0 trucks as well. The only difference I see is your oil pan drain plug is 90 degrees off-set from the GMT 800. Everything else looks the same. For those asking, you really don't need to drain the oil pan, but make sure you top it off when you're done.
Love your attitude with the work! "This is where you're getting paid" is exactly how I look at these projects. Now, I just need to figure out a good way to drop my front axle, since mine is 4WD.
Thanks for watching. I am glad you enjoyed the video. The 4WD does add a couple of steps. Hopefully you were able to see what is going on this video without the added 4WD components in the way. Good luck!!
Thanks for watching and I hope your project goes smooth. Please let me know how it goes. Remember, I did not show all of the swearing trying to feed the new lines through. Good Luck!!
I love this video. It's perfect. Good easy listening music, learning how to wrench on trucks, drinking beer. Doesn't get any better. I hear some guys like to fill the oil filter before putting it on but that's here nor there. Keep on keeping on with your channel! It's great!
@@fixitwithbeer2435 Yeah I went to unbolt the line and right away I realized it was going to be a lot more difficult than your experience, but not too bad. The only other steps are take off exhaust manifold heat shield, unbolt passenger side motor mount, loosen strut bolts, drop front differential, and jack the motor up a little. Really enjoyed your video. You’ve earned a subscriber. 🍻
GREAT VIDEO. I HAVE TO DO THIS ON MINES. COULD YOU TELL ME THE NAME OF THE RAMPS YOU USED FOR YOUR TRUCK. I NEED SOME AND I DONT KNOW WHAT ONE WILL HOLD
Thanks for watching. If by ramps you are talking about under the tires, I just use a couple of scrap pieces of 2 X 6. My garage floor and driveway create a little valley. I use the scrap lumber to give me a little more room. No fancy ramps for me. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Then how am I going to make my Crown Royal and Coke? Haha. Thanks for the tip, I have seen that one before. I guess I will have to try it next time. Thanks for watching.
Do I really have to do the oil change at the same time ? I just did mine like 500 miles ago... I have heard that since the filter will have to be taken off I could only loose about a quart. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. On the 2 wheel drive like mine, you really don’t need to remove the oil filter. In the video, I put the new filter on before I swapped the line set. You will lose some oil in the lines, but I would be surprised if it is more than a quart or so. Not sure since I did have the oil out. Good luck. I hope it goes great. Let me know.
@@fixitwithbeer2435 I forgot to thanks you for having made this video ! And thank you for your super quick reply. I am gonna do it on my 2500hd gmc sierra 8.1 Vortec
Thomas, I would just drain the coolant and put some Marvel Mystery Oil in there. No one really knows what’s in it, it’s a mystery. Then I would just forget anything was ever wrong and drive normally. Haha. Just kidding. Thanks for watching.
That part number should be good for 2007-2013, but double check to make sure. Also, be sure to watch a video on the four wheel drive. It will take a couple more beers than my two wheel drive. Good luck and thanks for watching.
You were right!! I changed yesterday and it is a rubber gasket. I guess I had crush washer on the brain from that Subaru my daughter drives. Most debated item on the channel is the reuse of the crush washer. Just wanted to get back and let you know. Thanks for watching.
I watched a video of a guy that did it without draining. He claimed to only lose a quart in the lines and draining out of the attachment points. Good luck and let me know how it works out.
My truck is not a 4X4 and it is definitely a harder repair when you have 4X4. There are some videos of different ways to work around the extra hardware. Thanks for watching and good luck with your project.
It’s way harder with 4x4, the entire front drive train gets in your way. It took me 4 hours today, had to disconnect the front drive shaft and play with the lines a lot. Honestly surprised I didn’t cause the new ones to leak with how much I had to manipulate them to get them around the front drive train and the engine. Don’t attempt this without a second pair of hands and a full day set aside.
That is a great idea. My Grandpa John introduced me the miracle of wheel bearing grease for installing the vertical thermostat on a 92 F-150. Thanks for watching.
You made my day!! I had a 3 hour job that turned to 9 hours yesterday. Needless to say, I gave up on making the video 3 hours in. The oil cooler is a 3 to 4 hours and you will need a hand fishing the lines. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.
Never seen a truck so clean underneath 🎉🎉🎉
Haha, she is a suburban queen in a no salt environment. Thanks for watching.

The best video, very relaxed and informative. I have a 2004 GMC Yukon with the same issue, got the beer just awaiting on parts.

I really enjoyed the video, the positivity and the light heartedness. I felt like I was in the garage with you haha. Keep up the great videos!
I am glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for letting me know!!
The mr Rodgers neighborhood music is key
Haha. I will pass along to the expert editor. Thanks for watching.
Add a few more beers if you’ve got the 4x4 version.
LOL. I have watched a couple of those videos. Definitely increases degree of difficulty. Thanks for watching.

Thanks!!! You saved me a ton of unnecessary work!
Thanks for watching. Glad the video helped.
Hey there. If you remove your oil filter with a red solo cup, you can keep yourself from getting covered in oil. Cheers..
Then how am I going to make my Crown Royal and Coke? Haha. Thanks for the tip, I have seen that one before. I guess I will have to try it next time. Thanks for watching.
Spray paint them so they dont rust as easy it works pretty well
Great idea. I don’t have much of a rust issue here in Texas, but up North might be a big help. Thanks.

You are welcome! I am not an expert or professional, but my daughter and I have been having fun making some videos.
I have the same oil pan, although mine's just full of coolant.

Could the oil lines part work for the 2013 with 4x4 as well?

Why did you mention crush washer on oil drain plug? Mine has a rubber o-ring
Interesting. Mine is definitely not an o ring, but I will definitely double check it next time I change the oil and let you know.

My issue is cant figure out the exact bolt size to those bolts for replacement without buying new assembly.

@@fixitwithbeer2435 will do. Thank you for replying
Let's see it done with the 4wd now. I've not come across that one for obvious reasons when you go to tackle it
The 4X4 videos I have seen are a lot more intense than this one, but it can be done. Thanks for watching!
4x4 drive is problem this video should say for (2 WHEEL DRIVE ONLY)
@@okieninety7613 4x4 disconnect drive shaft and drop differential

I was able to do it on my 4x4 ,it's doable .
Just don't tighten the bolts to much they will snap.
