- Gosford House is a neoclassical country house around 2 miles northeast of Longniddry in East Lothian, Scotland, on the A198 Aberlady Road, in 5,000 acres (2,000 ha) of parkland and coast. It is the family seat of the Charteris family, the Earls of Wemyss and March.
Gosford was built by the 7th Earl between 1790 and 1800, to plans by the architect Robert Adam who died before the house was completed. The 7th Earl is buried in the Wemyss Mausoleum on the estate. He is the only member of the family to be buried in this building, a pyramid-style structure (because of his role as Grand Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Scotland), that is now category A listed.

Our family company has maintained the grounds at Gosford for 29 years and its fantastic that you have managed to get two of the mowers on film at once.You seem to have caught the estate on such a wonderful day which shows off the grounds wonderfully. I found it one day driving by before complete restoration. Now I’d love to go back. It is so beautiful!
I wish I had droned the building before and after restoration, now that would have been cool! One wing still has to be completed mind you that you can see on the video.

Simply amazing, the best film footage I have seen of Gosford. I believe the author Nigel Tranter lived a short distance away.

I want the Terrace on the first floor.. and then 4 floors on top of that.. so .. nothing on ground level except whatever grass field there is around the house.. but the terrace.. or garden, is built on a raised platform.. umm.. how do I explain it?

The only thing missing are the gardens that would have been stunning in its heydays. too much lawn although stunningly looked after...
Ohhh don't say that, I know the gardners! To be honest the vast gardens are amazing all around the house and are a pleasure to walk through in real life.
@@etdronehome51 LoL...the gardens i"m talking about is the ones normaly with lots of flowers shrubs and trees that was planted near the house as you would exit it.
