The original Fleetwood Mac, 1967-1972, was the best, imo.

The Original Fleetwood Mac. Peter Green also wrote Black Magic Woman, that made Santana lots of money. You haven't heard this song until you hear part 2 which is a classical style guitar, very beautiful, and Trippy. Check it out on the album, "Then Play On" ruclips.net/video/uRFvsLlC_ZM/видео.html

Oh wow. Love this song. My dad use to play this all the time. 🔥🔥 and my dad's friend use to own a record store. He still has a whole basement of old records. He always had a lil tattoo on the tip of his pinkie like a lil ring with notches so I ask him one day what it was. He then told me that they use to use their lil pinkie or a pencil or whatever to wind up cassette tapes and when you used your pinkie, it made this lil indention kinda from the hole in the cassette so he got a tattoo of it like what it looked like 😭🤣 pretty cool. Just thought about that lol hagd 🤙🏼

Love this song! Nice find in the record store.
Stevie Nicks joined w Lindsey Buckingham. Story goes, Mick Fleetwood (drummer) was carousing recording studios in LA, overheard Lindsey playing and was blown away. MF asked to meet LB bc he was looking for a new lineup after Peter Greene and others had split. He asked Lindsey to join, and Lindsey said he would but only if his gf Stevie Nicks could join, too. Eventually, Lindsey and Stevie broke up (after she jumped Mick Fleetwood’s bones), and she told a heartbroken Lindsey, “you better not break up this gig. We’re going out there and playing.”

There was quite a few incarnations of Fleetwood Mac through the years. Each era had its own hits. The studio version of this is 9 minutes, two seconds long. There was a shorter radio edit but the long version probably got played on the radio in its day more than Black Dog. Green wrote and Fleetwood Mac recorded the original version of Black Magic Woman, a big hit later for Santana. Sentimental Lady and Hypnotized were two more hits from the Bob Welsh era that were great songs. Stevie and Lindsey were a duo called Buckingham Nicks before they joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975.

There were roughly four era's of FM.
Peter Green era, Danny Kirwan era, Kirwan/Bob Welch era and Buckingham- Nicks era.
All had Mick Fleetwood and John McVie in them.
My favorite is the Danny Kirwan era.

Hi Trippy, I think I may have misled you about the formation of the group. What I should have said was that Peter Green coined the name of group Fleetwood Mac after the drummer (Mick Fleetwood) and the bass guitarist (John McVie). Also, if you like this guitar playing and Peter's vocals then check out another hit of their's during this era called "Green Manalishi"

Yes there was a female singer in the group and what a singer too, her stage name was Christine Perfect and she used to be in a band called Chicken Shack that had a number one hit in the UK with "I'd Rather go Blind". Christine left CS to join FM, she later married John McVie and known as Christine McVie and later when Stevie Nicks joined performed together.
I had the good luck to meet all members of the band in 1969/70 at a concert in Birmingham at the biggest public house in Europe at the time which was at the Swan at Yardley. I was a pot boy / glass collector and had to clear out their dressing room, as I went in they welcomed me and we had a bit of banter (I was very shy in the presence of adults that could do something) and I asked for their autographs which they all signed and Christine signed my Bar drinks order pad with "To Simon, Thank you", I asked what the thank you was for and she gave me a big Kiss.

I'm all with @davey jones. Fleetwood Mac was just any pop band after Peter Green. Okay, they had some hits. But they never got as mesmerizing and fucking great as they did with Peter Green, that's a fact. Even his (few) solo records are so amazing that every guitarist could follow him. I have P.G. heard live a few months before he died and despite not being able to get up from his chair it was one of the best concerts I `ve ever heard and seen. Best wishes @all from hamburg (germany) -> Thanks for sharing @Trippy Hippi3

Your very USA orientated. Check out uk bands like Thin Lizzy, exquisite Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, 80’ s New Romantics and Depeche Mode , uk Scots Irish and Welsh were huge innovators of classic rock, metal, heavy metal and lovely genres. Us Brits are a very creative bunch and headed up the likes of Aerosmith, Ozzy is British go down the hole…
