It's difficult to explain the rush you get when you finally manage to climb the second colossus and hear "Revived Power" for the first time in your life.
I remember when it smacked the stone plate, and it’s armor shattered. I was excited at first cause it’s eyes glowed red, then, I realized my guy was unconscious... let’s just say that 11 year old me was pretty panicked at that moment.
@Syprene Yes!!! I remember hearing it for the first time and immediately loving it. But then you have Zelda Wind Waker and hearing the Molgera Battle theme for the first time and just knowing you're about to have a fun fight. Or in Zelda Majoras Mask hearing the Song of Healing for the first time and just being sad. Really Zelda has a lot of great moments tied to the music.
The music in this game is much more context-specific than many others. Some of the battles, like the sky dragon, have three songs that play depending on what’s happening... That last theme of that fight is by far my favorite in the game, though it is likely due to the context. And the first theme that plays during the first colossus battle is forever etched in my memory as one of the greatest gaming experiences I’ve ever had.
I forget which number of Colossus but the Flying one is one I'll never forget and the theme was incredible as always, just like in Zelda or Souls, or other games the boss theme just makes it way more memorable, which I guess that's every game with a boss but none stand out as much as the grandness of Shadow of the Colossus, Zelda, and Dank Souls in my opinion.
That quote just really resonates with me because its exactly how i feel. Half the game is just annoying running with shitty controls just trying to figure out where the hell youre even supposed to go, but when youre climbing a colossus with the awesome music its all worth it.

@@AtlasBenighted yes swift horse is also a song. The whole OSt is gold in shadow of the colossus. It's difficult to choose of the OSt the best songs to listen and react. But swift horse is a nice song
Dude, you should react to the Castlevania Lords of Shadow OST and Lords of Shadow 2 OST as well. With that said, I freakin' love Shadow of the Colossus OST, all of it.
You should get your hands on an used PS2 to play the game, it's an absolute master piece in all ways possible. The music is amazing, the story is very well told in a fashion no other game does, it's absolutly art. The PS4 version is just as good, better graphics, but if you just wanna play this game just get the PS2 version. Also, the reason a lot of them are so short, it's because some of them are used in specific situations, like when he wakes up in the temple or in some short cutscenes, that's why some are just 10-30seconds. It still amazes me, that even tho a lot of the soundtrack is specific, it's all made in real orchestra. About the organ, no it's not part of the actual orchestra, usually never is, it was brought specifically for some songs in there, and the original ost some of the tracks had to be recorded in different places due to the organ sound.
Shadow of the Colossus has quite a few drawbacks like the camera having a mind of its own and the Controls being clunky at some points but the soundtrack is not one of them
I'm very disappointed that the best one, the first in the game named "Prologue - to the ancient land" isn't in there. This soundtrack is the absolute climax from start to end
Are there any possibilities that you may listen to Kingdom Hearts soundtracks? They are all so great with many variety of length, it's going to be tough to choose. But in personal view, look for character theme whether a boss battle version or not. They are the best!

Because the visual is so grand to begin with, the music becomes what is voicing the emotion you are already feeling standing before a gracefully moving giant that you start feeling so much for right away. The music somehow sounds so different in the game when it all comes together. I just find it interesting is all, don't hesitate to watch some of the colossus battles (I recommend Phalinx and Malus especially) if you are not planing on playing the game yourself. don't get me wrong, I love the reaction tho :D
Thanks 🙂, and I did watch the battle
@@AtlasBenighted oh awesome :D
Man the shadow of the colossus ost is a masterpiece.
what about swift horse?
Is that a song?
@@AtlasBenighted yes swift horse is also a song. The whole OSt is gold in shadow of the colossus. It's difficult to choose of the OSt the best songs to listen and react. But swift horse is a nice song
He should definitely react to ICO’s OST I especially like you were there and castle in the mist
Kow Otani 's magic and epic music!
Dude, you should react to the Castlevania Lords of Shadow OST and Lords of Shadow 2 OST as well. With that said, I freakin' love Shadow of the Colossus OST, all of it.
oh, no despair filled farewell☹️
I did it
Did you played the game? It is one of the best.
I'm playing the original FF VII right now, after it I'm going to play this one
@@AtlasBenighted THANKS FOR ANSWERING ME!
😱😊😊😊
Yes I did my research on that, but first I'll finish FFVII, then I can move on to other games
Should have listened to Swift Horse too.
More SOTC will come!
Shadow of the Colossus has quite a few drawbacks like the camera having a mind of its own and the Controls being clunky at some points but the soundtrack is not one of them
Nice music ❤
React to DARK SOULS OST, specially Gwyn's Theme and Ornstein & Smough
I'm down for that!
Of course, now you'll react to the music of all the kingdom hearts, final fantasies, and legend of zeldas?
If more people want it sure
@@AtlasBenighted I'll watch them all
I would love if you reacted to legend of Zelda!😀
I'm very disappointed that the best one, the first in the game named "Prologue - to the ancient land" isn't in there. This soundtrack is the absolute climax from start to end
Yes, life is full of those
You should react to Versailles, Faith and Decision! You've reacted to their lead singer already, KAMIJO
Versailles has been requested and its coming!
Without the context of the game do you think you're getting an incomplete picture of the soundtrack?
Hay un tema que se llama ''the farthest land"esa es la que te falto
Viene mas de SOTC!
hello I would like you to react to the same tracks but in the rock version there are very good ones
Rock versions? are those official tracks?
@@AtlasBenighted
they are not covers, but there are very good ones of each one of the tracks
I like prologue the best! But the whole OST is great.
The famed Itzhak Perlman says intense classical music just kills you in a good way. This is that for me.
Muito bom
Are there any possibilities that you may listen to Kingdom Hearts soundtracks? They are all so great with many variety of length, it's going to be tough to choose. But in personal view, look for character theme whether a boss battle version or not. They are the best!
Hey Amurillo, it has been requested a few times far in between, but it's getting lil bit more traction with your request 😄
That's a great game, you should play it!
I want to, but no console 😅
My only favourite track is The Opened Way. It's kind of frustrating that it's just the first battle theme.
you should check out Castelvania Lords of shadow 1 and 2 are amazing
probably my top 2 game in PS2 cause it too much ! yeah in the list of resident evil 4 and , Metal Gear Solid , OKAMI , really good freakin game !
I have played RE and MGS at least!
I like how he puts xbox controller emoji in title but the game is for Playstation only...
Is anyone gonna talk about ending boss fight of roblox hotel or wat this is awesome
