- Our friends at The Modern Yeoman had some scrap metal they wanted to get rid of. Nate reached out to Ben Hollar from the Hollar Homestead to see if he could use the scrap metal. This is how Friends help Friends, Help Friends. When we were looking at Homestead Properties in Eastern Tennessee, we stopped by to see The Modern Yeomans homestead clean up progress and pickup the scrap metal. On our way home, Kinsley had an allergic reaction and we had to rush to the nearest ER Vet. She made a quick and speedy recovery.
Two days later, we headed to The Hollar Homestead and dropped off the scrap metal and had a good chat about various topics. It was great to see Meg and Ben Hollar again.

I am sure Ben will have lots of fun with all these scrap metals.
You guys are the most kind and generous networkers! 👍🏻😉👏🏻
Thanks! We enjoy it.
Your new friends are some of my favorite RUclipsrs! Very thoughtful of you to think of your friend!!
This was a very nice video to watch. And awesome to see you guys being good friends to both of your friends. Thank you for posting this! May God bless you and help you find your homestead soon!
Thank you. We hope so!
SO amazing to be a part of this; really glad that you guys came out to grab that metal, and also very glad that it's going to such awesome folks. Also, I'm so happy to see that Kinsley is doing better!
Thanks, Sean
So wonderful people helping people helping people. The spirit of Christmas alive and well and no matter what this year has bought this shows that working together we can all succeed. Well done. Merry Christmas from UK 🇬🇧
Merry Christmas to you as well
You have made some amazing friends in the Hollers they are an amazing family xx
They are lovely, glad our paths crossed and we look forward to meeting more like minded families on our journey! -K
Helping out is such a good feeling! Something that can be passed along. Its the way it should be. The law of reciprosity. "Give and it should be given unto you good measure, pressed down, and running over..." Love the pups, the kids, the baby!
Well said!
I love going back in time and watching this video several times always gives my heart such warmth from the genuine caring and sharing from all these wonderful families,This is what it is all about caring for your brothers and sisters,God bless and press on.
Wow, thank you! Community is important and we have and will continue to help others along our journey.
Love the Holler Homestead family
They are good peeps! -K
I agree, I love the Holler Homestead family and I love seeing those BAREFOOTED young Holler men.
Old saying, one man's trash is another's treasure. So good of you to help both these folks out.
Very true, upcycling is awesome!
Awwww poor dog
It was scary but she is all better now, thankfully.
I enjoyed my first time on your blog . I have been following the Hollers for the past year.. They are good people. Good luck on your looking for property. If I was younger I would do the same.
Thank you, we are having fun looking and remembering each property through these videos as well! I am happy we made the decision to take the leap of faith and search for land and cannot wait to find it. Thank you for coming with us on our journey -K
Such a huge fan. I've got 2 golden retrievers myself that are my world. Honesty I didn't even know about your channel but a feed popped up with your golden's photo and so of course I needed to view... I was hooked.
They are such good click bait, lol. I would click on a video if I saw them on the thumbnail too. Golden's are the best :)
Well that was a fun episode.
And fun to make. Thanks for watching
Same thing happened to my 20lb pug, suddenly his whole face was swollen. He could breath & wanted to eat so I have him 1.5 Benedryl tabs, our Vet told us Dogs need a higher dose than Humans. In 5 hrs he was back to normal. Have no idea what it was. Glad Kindley got better.
I just subscribed to your channel. It's my heart to help other people. God bless you.
Thank you so much!
you are a true friend.. knowing the "likes" and WANTS of your friends..
Ben will have a lot of materials to "play" with and will have a "blash" ..
God bless you,
I pray for your own forever homestead very soon..
Thank you, Sallie.
That was a great video.
Thank you
This was a lovely video. I am glad your dog was ok. May you have a blessed, healthy, happy New Year for 2021. Greeting from the UK.
Have a Blessed Day!

HA, well welcome!
i'm just lovin this.
That was a great few days, happy we could help out some friends and that Kinsley is alright.
And this is why you are seeking this area to homestead, because of the community! Ya'll fit well into it! I am praying you find your "home" soon! 🙏 Merry Christmas and thank you for keeping the spirit going even with the year we have had! 🎄🎁💞
Exactly. Merry Christmas to you as well, Gail.
nice of you to think of Ben & Meg while helping out a friend. I'm sure they appreciate it very much. Maybe we will see knives very soon made out of your gifts. Thank you.
That would be cool!
How amazing that you all work together to help each other❣️❣️
It is a great community!
that tank can become a beautiful "smoker" once Ben "jerry-rigged" it..
He might turn it into a scalder.
@@TheKraemerLife that's another great Idea
You know I first seen you on Justin Rhodes Channel and I knew then there was just something about you you were different I see the love of God in you and how you deal with other people and helping them don't ever lose that my friend there's not enough goodness in this world anymore and that's all we need to fix it is more people like you God bless you always and never let the light stop shining in your soul is it truly beautiful
Opal, those are very kind words. Thank you! -Nate
That was so kind of you and your wife. You went out of your way to get and give the metal for the Hollers. 💜 that was a perfect example of working together and win win. Glad your puppy is okay🐶💕
Thank you. It was our pleasure.
I wish I could hop in a truck and visit the Hollers!! Can hardly wait to see what Ben will do with the metal....
I think he is planning on a rocket stove for the smaller culvert...we shall see what he decides for the larger one. -K
Wow that is great that made it after all these interruptions
ARUN!!!! So good to hear from you! Yes, that was quite the trip. All ended well, so it was worth it. -Nate
Great video! It was a lot of fun to watch. I'm sorry your dog got stung or whatever happened to her. Giving her Benadryl was a really good idea. I took a ton of it when I was growingup and I know it saved my life a number of times. Thank goodness I've outgrown a lot of my allergies! ~ I also wanted to thank you for thinking of Ben. He's like a magic man when it comes to metal and creating things. Can't wait to see what he does with all you brought him.
Thank you so much! Between Kinsley and I there is always Benadryl on hand...we both have awful allergies. We are looking forward to see how they get used also. -K
Love this, thanks. Happy New Year. Blessings
Happy new year! Thanks for watching!
Ty i found 2 new homesteaders to follow
Fantastic! Thanks for subbing!
Lol if you're not flying off you're doing it wrong is exactly right! I grew up then too. Burnt backside from shiny metal slides and shorts! Awww the good old fun (dangerously fun) days. I love golden too. Best dogs ever!
Right! Our kids think we are crazy when we talk about our childhood. Goldens are great!
Modern yeoman has a good stand up comedy voice. 😂
😂🤣😭
So admirable to clean up, restore and recycle materials for good use. Ordered liberty: that’s our American and Christian foundation shared with friends to keep us going. Glad Kinsley is better! Goldens are my favorite too! (Always something, eh!)
Yes, we are big on upcycling as much as possible. Waste not want not. Thank you, Kinsley is great now...Golden's are hard not to love, they are the sweetest! -K
Awesome you can lend a hand and help reuse repurpose stuff that hasn't 100% found its True Purpose.
Absolutely! It is better to give it to someone who can use it when you can.
So happy I found yall early into your youtube journey, so I can watch your growth!!!
Thank you for watching and following along. We love to have you participate.
I assume that you are on 100 acres of land?
Saw you delivering metal at the Hollers ,
I enjoy watching homestead channels so I'm subscribed to your channel now. Also love Golden's
Thanks for the sub! We hope to have our homestead soon so we can start building up the land and animals but for now we search! -K
a wondrous expression of man's kindnesses shared between newfound friends
Nathan is one of the kindness and most generous people that I know and he loves to help others. I love that we have been able to be a part of helping others, it makes my heart happy. -K
So nice seeing people help one another. New subscriber. Maybe a bee is in your vehicle or another bug. Glad the dog is ok.
Thanks for the sub! Thank you!
How many chickens do you have?
Oh, we stopped counting a while ago.
Love it!
☮️❤️☕️-Kirsten
One day, we will able to say that too. :)
Very sweet video! Looking forward to more adventures, just subscribed. Hope you had a blessed Christmas and wishing you the best for the new year. Blessings
Thank you! You too! I hope that you enjoy coming along with us on our adventures. -K
Now I am showing my age ..... Greaseproof paper!
You rub it on those "shiny" slides and you are on a non stick rocket ride of excitement! ;0)
I used to use brown paper bags...it was a protection from the heat and also helped with speed! -K
What a great couple you are and a very thoughtful friend.
You are so kind, thank you! -K
Ben can use your big culvert, just get some wide black plastic to put over the top of the dirt covering the culvert, so if he gets a 7" rain what doesn't go THRU the culvert will flow over the black plastic and not destroy the dam, formed after installing the culvert.
Thanks for the suggestion, we'll let him know. -K
Whereabouts do you all live in Tennessee 5 miles from the Tri-City Airport I live in East Tennessee to love the both of y'all Channel thanks so much for letting us come into your home by the way by the way I got a big farm to
We do not live in TN but the Modern Yeoman lives in Knoxville 😀
I remember those types of playgrounds with the "Mach 3 merry go round" and the Metal Slide that gets up to 150 degrees in the hot sun. LMAO Don't forget the Basketball court that has one rim with a tore/ripped net and the other rim just the bare rim (No Net). LOL Aaaah, Nothing like Growing up in the 1980's. ROTF LMAO Oh yes, I forgot there was one playground that did have one of those Culvert pipes to play in. Boy did that thing get HOT in the summer!! Eventually, I think they ended up using it for a drain pipe when they remodeled the park. ROTF LMAO That was what Growing up in the 1980's was like! Now the kids do not want to put down the controllers to their game systems or their Cellphones and go outside and play like we did in the 1980's! Heck even if they do go outside their faces are glued to their cellphones and their fingers are going a thousands miles per hour, texting.
Them were the days!!!! -K
O good you cut your hair. You look a lot better!
Nice video...so sorry about the dog...maybe it was a spider because I think y'all would have notice a bee flying around. Glad he fine now. Thank God for GPS. Thank you for getting the Hollars that scrap metal. It will be fun to see what he makes of it. He is so talented. Have a Blessed day.
Thanks for watching! We think he will make a scalder for chickens from the old propane tank and a rocket stove from the smaller culvert. It is great to be able to make something useful from scap. -K
@@TheKraemerLife That;s for sure.
Merry Christmas The Kramer Life.
Right back atcha! Merry Christmas, Growing Little Country
This video was such an adventure 😂
Yes it was. Thanks for watching.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
New sub here, and also looking at properties in EAST TENNESSEE....Very nice of you to think about Ben and Meg.
Oh so funny, if you're not flying off you're doing it wrong!!!
Thanks for the sub! HAHA, for sure...reminds me of growing up...parks these days have bouncy floors and padded bars...lol-K
Good friends are treasures.
Yes they are
Keep the faith, as God will lead you to the homestead that is yours.
Thank you!
The best kind of middle man.
HAHA, true...
That was great. All of it. Ty
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it :) -K
Best use for old chickens is to can them. The flavour is amazing!
I have never had canned chicken before! I'll have to try it. -K
@@TheKraemerLife can only the thighs, legs and breasts and make the rest into bone broth. The flavour on old chickens is so amazing I never wasted time canning younger birds. The canned meat is extremely versatile and can be used as cold meat, in sandwhiches, caseroles, stews. You name it!
I raised chickens for over 50 years!
Your for babies are beautiful I have two little Chihuahuas and bulldog they are my babies I’m glad that she’s OK big hugs love your channel
Thanks so much
How awesome
Happy we were able to make the connection and help -K
Hello from Rhode Island I just found your channel good video people helping people it doesn’t get any better have a great day
Thanks and welcome, we hope to keep the help coming for years to come as we join a vibrant homesteading community. -K
That is neat!
Thanks, we were glad that they could put it to use! -K
Since you mentioned she was allergic to bees. It made me think of the ground yellow jacket best I encountered in the woods yesterday. They were very active.
Yes, I was thinking the same thing...
Old chicken,we had hen gumbo for Christmas. They have a great taste
Nice, so I am on to something with the cookbook! -K
Ben will make good use of it.
Yes, he will!
My dog got stung by several paper wasps. I picked it up by the colour of her gums a classic anaphylactic reaction - white and pale tongue. too, needed urgent ephedrine, no swelling at all but very rapid breathing and heart rate so like you rapid trip to urgent vet. Full recovery thank goodness
Oh no! That is such a horrific feeling...so glad your baby is doing ok.
Baby hollar growin up fast
Before they know it she will be graduating HS...they grow up so fast. -K
We have 2 goldens here on our property, they belong to my daughter and her family. Goldens are the sweetest. My dachshund on the other hand, she's a hot mess, but we love her :)
They are such love bugs! I have two really good friends who have Dachshunds and they absolutely love them. -K
Glad that doggy is ok. Very nice of Y'all helping eachother. By the way did the vet find a stinger or not(make a emergency kit for any future issues- benadryl ,etc,) ask the Vet the dose and keep it on your truck and/or your trailer. Be safe out there, Hope you all had a Great Christmas.
Yes, we have Benadryl in the truck and more in the trailer. I have severe allergies and this is not her first reaction to something so we have first aid kits stashed all over :) -K
Happy New year have a blessed 2021
HAppy New Year!
It truly is so wonderful to see friends helping one another. New to your channel, subscribed. God bless you
Thanks and welcome
my father double piped our little creek and created a side pond to slow rate of flow in heavy rain having had 3 2 foot culverts washed out previously, at a time when earthworks were done by shovel and wheel barrow. ( he was a WW2 veteran) The side pipe was a 6 footer and we never had another washout.
Nice, I bet that felt great to have fixed that issue. I hope they are able to remedy their issue with the culvert as well.
Hey, guys, since you said she yelped in the back of truck...I'd DEFINATELY heavily spray the whole inside of truck, let it sit couple hours, and air out. Whatever bit her is probably not dead in there!! I'm thinking maybe spider? There are some that aren't deadly but still cause reactions...there are sprays that are safe for dogs and people, but kill insects!❤❤
Thanks for the tip. We did take out everything and shake it all out but couldn't find anything.
The dog might get have got into fire ants
We didn't hear or see anything, it was quite strange and are happy she is all healed! -K
lovely great guys
Thanks for watching!
LOL somebody has Daddy’s number, so cute!
What do you mean?
@@TheKraemerLife i think that may have been a reference to Ben holding Buggy the whole video visit! 😉
@@TheKraemerLife LOL yes it was and that brother was not holding her quite right...This is what Every baby needs, my girls and son had this and It’s a springboard to success in life!
Ah, I am not sure we would have caught that...it has been several decades since the kids were that young...thanks -K
HA, I did notice she was much more content with daddy! They will learn. -K
How Fantastic. One man's Junk is another man's Treasurer. Always nice to see one person recognize that someone else can use what another can't. This is what Friends do for Friends. So glad your Dog is ok. So hard to see them suffering and know you can't do anything but take to Emergency Vet. I think they can do Allergy testing on her. It's not painful especially now. Might be worth checking into. Also might be able to get an Epy (know wrong spelling) Pen made for Dogs. Just a thought. My First Dog was a Golden Love Them. I'm in my 60's and now have a Catahoula Leopard Dog. She is small for the Breed weighing only 40 pounds. But I kept her from becoming a Breeder and that's all that counts. Nice to meet yas. God Bless and Peace Be With You All
Cannot wait to see how he uses it!
@@TheKraemerLife Exactly Ben is very resourceful. Will be interesting to see
If you think those playgrounds were bad, you should have seen the ones we had in the 60's.
LOL, I can only imagine. -K
I remember them. Amazingly dangerous, parents oblivious. LOL
It's amazing how much the Modern YeoMan and Ben Haller look the same and sound the same when they're speaking! Since I'm a new subscriber I haven't learned the owner of this website other than MYM
We are the Kraemer's...Sean is the MYM.
In spite of the tech or vets assurance that the dog would not likely progress to full blown anaphylaxis, I would remain proactive if this happens again, I do know that progressive stings can be progressively worse. This has happened in adults and kids with bee stings. So thankful that your dog recovered nicely. Good doggy parents! I love the Hollars and am so delighted to see them in your video cause they are posting a little less these days, understandable with the new baby. Merry Christmas and a Happy Blessed New Year to all the families in your video. P. S. I am now a new subscriber!
Sonia, thank you for the advice. Welcome to our channel! Thanks for subscribing.
Nice ty💐
Happy to help!
Use two culvert pipes (not touching) side by side. The county did our creek that way.
Great tip!
My wife and I have 2 Golden Retriever sisters that are litter mates, they are 8 years old and are the exact same way looking out for each other.
Kinsley and Floyd are siblings just one litter apart, they had an instant connection. Floyd looks after his big sister and is a good brother :) -K
Best wishes
Thank you, Patty!
I'm so glad Kinsley is better! Have you ever thought of having an allergy test done on her? They can do a environmental or food allergy test.
Thanks, that was scary moment. She is allergic to bees but we haven't done anything allergy panel on her yet.
If Kingsley allergic to bee sting carry pen with you
Good idea.
this is how I was raised sad to say it doesn’t happen much anymore my husband and I are in our 70s and not one of our neighbors has ask if we need anything
That is sad, even in the city we were always helping our neighbors...I think that is the neighborly thing to do. I was raised that way too and think I will always be that way and Nate is one of the most generous people I have ever met. -K
Charlotte from Ky.🙂
Welcome!
I would buy your 6 yr old chicken cookbook.
I think Katie and Meg are on to something! -Nate
Maybe she got bit by a spider out on the other farm
It is possible that it was spiders or ants...there were welts all over her chest...or a reaction to the grass at one of the properties. It makes it harder when you do not know what to look out for. She healed quickly and is back to her normal loving self so we are happy! -K
You guys need to go and help Art and Bri
We did offer a while back, we just do not know them as well.
Bee bite
Very possible but we didn't see any bees so it is still a mystery.
Supposition on what stung the poor puppers...black widow? You had just loaded the truck with old dark in the middle pipe, perfect hiding place. Might even have caught a ride in her fur until it found a spot close enough to the skin to sting her. If she's allergic maybe something as simple as a tick could cause that reaction. Do they do EpiPens for dogs?
We never did find the culprit. The Benadryl helped out tremendously to slow the reaction. -K
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
:)
You can do an allergy test on her. We’ve done that on ours because he kept having breakouts down his back and groins.
I think if it happens again we will, she is almost six and this is the first time this has happened where we were not sure what it was.
👍👍💞
😀
That's some beautiful old wood. Please store it laying down, not on end t]like that. It will just warp really bad if you store it on end.
Absolutely. I think Sean just had them on end like that while he was organizing. I believe he already put them up on shelves, laying flat. Thanks for watching.
👍🏻🤗
:)
Look in andersonville tn. My sister has a cabin and 12 acres for sale
We have looked around that area...the next videos are quite close to there :) Hope she sells her property, best of luck! -K
@@TheKraemerLife she doesnt really need to sell it but has farm land in clinton too lol and doesnt know what she wants and doesnt even homestead them
