Poland is in Central Europe - we are a mix of eastern and western Europe in terms of culture, attitudes, geography, literature...etc- we are unique. Poland has a fascinating history. Most Poles live abroad? Nonsense (most Poles in Poland have no experience with emigration). When it comes to the position of women in Poland, it is very telling that for several decades in private business they have been on boards of companies much more often than in Germany or Norway, not to mention US or France or Switzerland. In addition, the difference in wages between women and men in Poland in private business is one of the lowest in Europe (15%), while in Scandinavian countries it reaches 25% and in Germany - 30%. It is also not worth mixing up the "Slavicness" of Poles with Eastern Europeanness. Poland is located in Central Europe and what is more, the traditional position of women (strong) in Poland is typical for Central Europe and differs greatly from Eastern Europe (i.e. mainly the countries of the former USSR and with Orthodox religious tradition), and is much stronger than, for example, in Switzerland or France. It is no coincidence that women in Poland gained the right to vote right after Poland regained independence in 1918 (one of the first countries in the world to grant women the right to vote) and already at the beginning of the 20th century, women's education at universities, including in professions considered "male", was fully accepted in Poland (unlike, for example, in Western Europe, especially in Switzerland or Germany).

I'm sorry but some points you make in the video are simply wrong.
    1. Polish women are not traditional anymore, they don't want to start families and in fact, Poland as a country has one of the lowest birth rates in the whole world.
    2. We are not a traditional society anymore but egalitarian one, men have less rights than women (mandatory military service in case of war does not apply to women, court cases for child care after the divorces favour women over men by default)
    3. Poles DO NOT like to immigrate, they HAD TO based on the economic situation in the country where they would live in poverty if they had not migrated somewhere else. Also a lot of wars that caused mass fleeing from the country and opening the borders to the rest of EU in 2007 let a lot of people to seek better living condidions elsewhere. If the situation wasn't as bad as it was during those times, people would stay in the country just like Norwegians.
But I'm glad to hear that you like Poland and you have made friends with local folks! Trzymaj się w tej Polsce i życzę powodzenia w dalszej nauce polskiego

ad. 1 i 2 - really? in Poland both men and women are afraid to start families because there is a huge housing crisis, and has been for 30 years, and recently you have to reckon with the fact that you will not be able to afford even a small apartment until you are 50. 2. We are still a society immersed in our traditions (unique and absolutely not Eastern European), and also believing in God in the majority. however, we were greatly pissed off by the Catholic Church in Poland, which got involved in politics and has representatives who have ceased to be a moral authority

Great video, mate! You're a good speaker. I think the aggressive mentality among some men in Poland is genetic, possibly due to the many conflicts Poland has endured throughout history. Norwegians have had similar traits back throughout history as well. For instance, look at the Vikings. Norway also had a much stronger presence of Christianity back throughout history. During World War II, figures like Max Manus, Gunnar Sønsteby, and Gregers Gram exemplified a true fighter mentality. Masculinity in Norway seems to have faded since World War II, likely due to not only safety, but also economical comfort and just overall lack of conflict in the years that followed.

First of all, I don't know where the author of this volog saw Poles fighting. Secondly, it is not possible in Poland for immigrants, people with a different mentality, to introduce their laws and customs here. It has been like this for centuries. What is happening in Western Europe is difficult to explain logically.

    • @TonnyRespect

I think it has to do with the level of inner happiness and satisfaction in life in people. It’s a known fact that people in Norway, Sweden, Denmark are much more happy with their lifes. Compared to the other countries, Poland is no diffference. Can’t say it’s one of most violent nations for sure, but I get what Marcin is saying. It comes generally from the inner self, inner conflicts, a lot of drama in life, depression, sadness - all of that make people resort to violence to blow off the steam.

    • @lehcyfer
      @lehcyfer 2 дня назад +1

Usually I link aggressiveness to a feeling of lack of control over life. If you are frustrated, if you feel you don't have influence over your life you tend to be either aggressive or depressive. Poles come from long tradition of being oppressed, out of control, but always had and still have the drive, the fight in them, so it can trend into aggression. Usually it is bottled because Poles tend to keep to themselves, but it boils out when drinking alcohol. One needs to be careful around drunks - period.
Things change for the better lately, Poland came through a metamorphosis through last three decades, we see changes all around us, and there is a ton of foreigners lately who notice that Poland is a beautiful country full of hard working, decent, warm people.
Many Poles are flabbergasted by it, still feeling a s being worse than the western europeans, but The times, they are a-changing'...

I have to agree with you. In 1990 I was in Stockholm for a few months and I was amazed at how quickly women/girls there lose their beauty. Even 30-year-olds seemed old (I mean figure, skin, general impression) - and somehow "faded", uncharacteristic.. I gave 50 years to women around 30. And 30+ to Swedish twenty-year-olds. Along with youth, they often lose their beauty, while in Poland many women 50+ retain their beauty and such noble features and delicacy. This was during the economic crisis at the end of communism in Poland and now, when Polish women have many more opportunities to take care of themselves, it is even more striking. I was in Sweden recently on vacation and unfortunately, the differences in this regard between women in Poland and Sweden have even deepened. Interestingly, I have similar impressions of women from Ukraine, especially from its southeastern part. They also age rapidly, around thirty they start to look like old ladies.

I lived in Stavanger, Norway for 6 years. it used to be possible to make a lot of money there back in the days.. it was also full of polish and lithuanians who were mainly taking care of manual jobs and probably making ok money too. In fact the cost of living was high but salaries were also very good. However following the massive krone depreciation that took place in the last 5 years, I wonder if polish are still living in norway to this day. I guess it is not that lucrative anymore.

That's true with scandinavian girls. From my observation, women get aged rapidly after 30s! Check around the lips they have so many wrinkles after 30s. Second thing is short legs compare to the rest part of body like a duck. Other thing its that living in Norway its like living in the cage. I was living there for 10 years now I went back to Poland this year and for the same work get more money now in Poland and feel more safe and freedom here. Thing changed a lot last few years. From my perspective its more oportunity and better perspective now to live in Poland. Norway now seems get in stagnation mode.

Difference between polish and norwegian in terms of aggression and straightforwardness is like the difference between finns and swedes. I am half swedish/half finnish. Finns are generally much more straightforward than swedes who mostly tries to play nice. Finns are also seen as more aggressive, even historically. About 100 years ago Tampere in Finland had as much murders and manslaughters as whole Sweden.
I have also seen seedish wmen age pretty badly, it is probably partly because of genes, and maybe alcohol consumtion.

Great video bro and I agree on most things. I'm fully Polish and my family and I immigrated to the US in 2001 and the main reason Polish people have done it quite a lot is simply for better economic opportunities, not necessarily because they want to move elsewhere. We had to rebuild the entire country after WWII and we also had communism until 1989 so the economy was absolutely awful during that period. Then in 2004 when Poland joined the EU, the economy was only just starting to improve so it started a whole new wave of people moving to the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, etc. for better opportunities. Now with the economy finally being quite good, it means that a lot more Polish people are staying in Poland. Norwegians and Western Europeans never had to immigrate because they didn't have the economic problems that Poland did. I think most Polish people prefer to stay in Poland and will only leave if the economic opportunities are just too good to pass up.

    • @KarolSpinda

Actually nowayfays it doesn’t make a big sense for Polish to live in Norway in case your a professional in something. Only the minimum wage workers might feel the benefits. Scandinavians consider us only a low wage workers so in e.g. tech sector, in 99% cases a Pole will be less paid despite the competences. The wage gap created by this discrimination is huge. That’s why as a Pole myself from a tech field, I moved to Bulgaria to pay less taxes while working for an international startup. Btw these days Poland has wages literally similar to Spanish(while having a cheaper living) so we’re not poor anymore, we’re mid tier

@@roysmith8679 You didn't understand any of this. Besides, I assure you that Polish men prefer women who are strong and independent - and at the same time warm and supportive to men. This is what research shows. Helpless, unemployed, only-home-oriented women are attractive only to a small percentage of Poles. Of course, no one likes cold, caricaturedly masculine women, but we are talking about completely different women here.

Scientists blame this rather conflictual character (although Poles also quickly reconcile and calm down - maybe because they are also sincere and honest in these conflicts) partly on the trauma that Polish society experienced during the Nazi occupation. Studies show that about 30% of Polish society still has so-called prolonged PTSD (after the war, no one treated millions of Poles for what they experienced and they passed on some of their traumas to the part of their children and grandchildren). Israel has a similarly high percentage of long-term traumatized society. And in other European countries it does not exceed 3% (except for Germany, where it reaches 10%). And looking for the reason that Poles drink alcohol is misguided, because according to statistics, they drink less of it than Scandinavians.

One cant stand out in Scandivanian countries like in the USA, in the USA they encourage people to go after the so called "american dream". Scandivanian people are in general envious of others success!
Info from the web: "In the 1930s, the Norwegian author Aksel Sandemose formulated the so-called Jante Law, the law of not standing out and not believing that you are something. A term that exists in many parts of the world, in English-speaking areas under the name Tall Poppy Syndrome" Dolph Lundgren´s dad even said: Go to USA and make something about yourself, Sweden is a socialist country and u will not make any success in Sweden.
