I swear this randomizer's bullshit makes for a really good story arc for these yearly streams. Especially for this one so far. Vinny starts with love and high hopes for this game / this run: - Immediate major item (cross) - Quick access to many villages and 3 palaces - Early master key It seems that the randomizer has redeemed itself for last year's seed. Vinny might actually have a smooth time this year. Except: - There's only 2 basic magic spells available (Shield & Fairy) both for a high magic cost - The overworld is convoluted with multiple dead ends, spammed with ridiculous monster encounters - Some enemies just take way too much damage - The available palaces are late-game ones, including the Great Palace, and another requiring the Reflect spell After multiple deaths in search for a better palace or magic spell, Vinny reluctantly decides that his best bet is in Death Mountain. After a few tries, in low hopes of finding his way through, the game humorously spares Vinny by having the cave he's looking for be literally at the start of Death Mountain, and he gets a glove, which will help him in the only palace he can go to (the "5th" palace). The cherry on top is just how many hits it takes to kill the first boss. And so in the span of 2 hours, with many game-over's and reactionary guttural noises, we see Vinny's arc in accepting his miserable fate of the yearly Zelda 2 torture (in San Diego). What I think makes this all worth it in the end, is for moments like this 1:59:05, leaving this episode on a high note (with more insanity to come). TLDR: This season of Vinesauce is neat.
I feel like doing Ocarina would be less masochistic than this honestly. I've been watching Simpleflips's, it's fun. Especially since the game can legally drink in the US now.
Ocarina is one of the best zelda randomizers. Vinny only had trouble before because he wasn't using a map tracker (which is something even most speed runners use outside of races)

Not sure if he's gonna read this but the reason why the enemies were different was because you entered the key room and exited into the rest of the dungeon. You have to get in and then exit to progress
God I fucking love the Z2 randomized runs. The first one was great. I think it’s one of the best fits for randomization, feels like a lot of rediscovery and Vinny does well because he’s so familiar with the original game. Something that not a lot of people can say because they’re busy dunking on it for the wrong reasons

OOT turns out to be so fun randomized, so long as your seed doesn't fucking blow, or you pick really awful settings.
If Vinny says he's “probably” going to do something, odds are he'll end up doing it. Bloodborne, for instance.
