- This was my first time to make a sublimation wind spinner. I tried a couple of different heating times and learned what worked best for me.

I love this Marilyn great job with the sublimation. I see the difference in the ink left on the paper.
Thank you Gloria!!!
I need one of those in my garden or somewhere in my yard! Turned out so beautifully, I love it!
Thanks Tracy!!!
Your spinner turned out awesome! Love the image you chose! Great step by step tutorial.
Thank you Barb!!!
Marilyn, I love spinners and have been away from Sublimation for a few months now, so I was super excited to see your video! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! Yes, these are so fun and easy to make. I plan to make some for family members for the summer.

Thank you Coretta!
Great video. Thanks for tip on removing the film. Beautiful.
You're welcome!!!
I love it! Almost magical!❤
Thank you Mary! Yes, it turned out really nice. Can't wait to see it in my backyard.
Thank you for sharing. I’m going to get the epson 15000 and my heat press press is on its way. I love your butterfly design and can’t wait to make one.
Do you know what sublimation ink you will use in it? I really love Hiipoo but there are so many nice inks out there.
That turned out beautiful! im going to try making one for the first time..hopefully it turns out good..
I hope it does as well! I'm going to make another one with fall colors in the near future.
That’s beautiful. I was wondering how those work.
Very cute Marilyn, I will have to make one for my Mum
Thanks!!!
🥰😍Very Nice Marilyn!!!! Thank you for the Tutorial!💥💯👍
Always edifying❣️
Thanks for watching!!!
Great job👍I watched Crystal Ann's video as well
Thanks Nicole! I still need to go back and see how she did both sides at one time.
Beautiful thank you
You're very welcome! Thanks so much for checking out the video!
Great video, thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Nice! Yes I've done two different pictures on the front I put a picture of my daughter and her husband and on the back their boys and it came out great.
Thanks for letting me know! I will try that.
@@MakingwithMarilyn you're are welcome.
I'm so blessed to have found you page.
Looks Great
Thank you so much!
See, you do learn something new everyday. SUBLIMATABLE, sounds good to me, lol! Thanks for the video also.
Too funny!!! Thank you so much for watching.
Those wind spinners are really nice
Thank you Kevin!
The second one looks just a tad crisper, but they both turned out great! See what you've done, something else I must try. Can't wait.🖖.😁
I was looking at the Wind Spinner yesterday and it really is so beautiful! If you try it, I hope you enjoy it!
That image is so beautiful
Thank you Tracy!
Of course I need to make them!!!
I hope it goes well for you Carolyn!
Very beautiful indeed
Thank you!
Those colors are so vibrant 💜 I've had these in my amazon cart for awhile but wasn't sure how they'd look, def ordering them cause that came out really cute!!
Yes, I was really happy with them! Good luck with yours.
Great Video. I am so happy to see you used the HTVront heat press for this. I already purchased the new mat so now I feel confident in using it instead of my easy press. Also, you referred to someone doing both sides at the same time. Did you experiment with that yet? If so, how did you tape down your images and temp and time? thank you so much .
I haven’t rewatched the video yet, but her name is CrystalAnn.
@@MakingwithMarilyn thank you
Thanks for sharing, buddy 🍺🍺
You're welcome. Thanks so much for watching!
Catching the replay Sis 🌹
NICE!
Thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial. I just tried to do some, but for some reason one side, I find it is a little yellowish. Any suggestions?
Possibly over cooking it but I'm not too sure. What colors were in the design?
Good video thanks looks good I gave 15.00 for mine they are powder coated uv protected for 5 years
Thank you Jessie! That sounds like a great quality wind spinner.
Turned out beautiful! How do I find a template for this wind spinner if I want to use my own design?
Measure the diameter of your wind spinner at its widest part and then make the part of the design that you want to show up slightly larger. If you want to use a circle in your software to mimic the wind spinner to see how the image would fit in it, you can do that. Thank you so much for watching!
Ah great suggestion and link to a silicon pad to replace mushy one. Now where did that amazing green cutting mat come from and what size? I see you have the white Yukon tool storage. My wife has that one for her crafting and I'm jealous. Also, is the Creative Fabrica for real - asking $47 yearly normal price $348 or is this some kind of bait-n-switch too good to be true thing?
Thank you so much for watching! Here is the mat that you see in the video. It is 18" x 24" amzn.to/4a8i3fa The most recent one that I bought was the same size but a little less expensive amzn.to/3TNd0LC it's purple on one side and pink on the other, but you can get it in another color option. Yes, I love my Yukon cabinet and less expensive than the Husky ones at Home Depot.
I saw where you were not able to find the design link but now I can't find your message. Maybe you ended up finding the design and deleted the post? If not, here is the link to this designwww.creativefabrica.com/product/stained-glass-wind-spinner-2/ref/1340608/
I just found out about these. Very cool! So when you download the image you have to print it out obviously. I actually went to the Creative Fabrica site and there was a sample download. I printed it but it's on regular printer paper and was too big. The image was cut off. As I've never done the craft your doing, do you use larger paper or a special printer? Sorry for the newbie questions!
I cut this at somewhere around 10 inches in diameter. I had to use larger paper since regular size is only 8.5 inches wide. I printed the image from a printer that has sublimation ink in it and I printed it on sublimation paper. Thanks for watching!
@@MakingwithMarilyn Thanks Marilyn!
How do I make a 10' windspinner on a regular printer? Also did your blank have a protective film on it. I for the life of me can't get mine off so I'm not sure if it even has one on it.
The wind spinners that I have only work with sublimation ink. I don’t know how you would be able to do them with regular ink, unfortunately. Mine did have a protective coating and it was really hard to tell that it was on there.
By mistake I put a different design on the back of one. Oh well!
Thank you for watching!
Thanks you are awesome.
Thank you so so much!!! You've just made my evening better!
@@MakingwithMarilyn I tried to post a picture but it wouldn't let me.
@@RosaHernandez-ky9jq you can post it in the Facebook group if you are a member there.
You mentioned a printer that was “bigger”? Can you clarify that? I bought the 10” not considering my printer will only print 8 1/2 “ 11”.
I have a wide format printer, the Epson Ecotank 15000. It prints up to 13" wide and so you can use 11 x 17 paper or 13 x 19 paper. It's not intended to be a sublimation printer but a lot of crafters convert the Ecotanks by using sublimation ink instead of the ink that comes with them. Of course, this can void your warranty. This is the one I use: amzn.to/3yNx7B5
I tried the heat tape to remove film I tried shipping tape and a heat gun. I could not get it off. I pressed it low heat nothing so I pressed it with design somehow it came out great
Sounds like yours may have come without the protective film.
I just got my sublimation printer. Do you have any tips on setting it up?
Congratulations!!! Which one did you get?
what if I dont have a heat press and just my cricut easy press 9x9? Can I still do a 10" wind spinner?
Yes, you'll just have to be careful not to shift the paper while moving the press around. It might be a little darker where you overlap the print with your second press. They also make 8" wind spinners if you would prefer those. Thanks for watching.
From past experience, (it's been a few years) everything that I sublimated on ceramic tiles and aluminum panels using the Sawgrass printer and inks faded miserably after being outdoors for a few months.
I would love it if the Epson sublimation inks didn't do this.
I hope so too. Thanks so much for watching!
Spray with UV coating!
Me gustaria ver el video en español. Donde puedo encontrarlo? Muchas gracias!
RUclips has a feature where I can have it translated to Spanish, but it asks me Spanish (US) or Spanish (Mexico). I don’t know which would help you the most. Which do you think?
Your print camw out sooo bright. Mine is always dull. What kind of sublimation ink are you using?
I used my Epson printer that has hiipoo sublimation ink in it.
I am not able to find the design. Can you post the link by any chance? Thank you
Absolutely. Here it is. Thanks for watching. www.creativefabrica.com/product/stained-glass-wind-spinner-2/ref/1340608/
I can't seem to get the right measurments way to big or to small
What is your process for measure it and sizing it in your software?
It's pretty.
Thank you Christal!
You're welcome
Marilyn is this the printer you have? Epson EcoTank ET-15000 Wireless Color All-in-One Supertank Printer with Scanner, Copier, Fax, Ethernet and Printing up to 13 x 19 Inches, White Thanks so much for all your GREAT tutorials.
Yes Shelly. That is it.
@@MakingwithMarilyn THANK you so much.
Hi, that is pretty.
Thank you!!!
Beautiful. What printer did you use?
sorry, I listened from the start and realized you named your printer. LOL
No problem Jean! The Epson Ecotank that I used has Hiipoo Sublimation ink in it just in case you were interested.
Como se llama ese material? Acá en chile no se conoce. Como se puede comprar?
It is a metal with a sublimation coating. I have an Amazon link to it under the video. But, you have to use a sublimation printer to make the design. Thank you for watching!
What kind of paper did you use
I used Koala. Here is a link to it. Koala Sublimation Paper (13 x 19 but they have other sizes) amzn.to/3O61Dvz
What temperature?
Start watching at 6 minutes and I go over heat and time.
Looks great but I have read that sublimation ink will fade outdoors. Is there some kind of special coating to provide UV protection? Or will it take a long time to fade? Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiments!
I just made this so will have to give it some time outside to see if it fades. I will update whether it does down the road. Great question!
@@MakingwithMarilyn I'm curious to see how it holds up. Can't wait to hear from you later!
There is actually a clear UV coating spray
I tried your tape method to remove plastic. All I can say is Witchcraft Hocus Pocus AMAZING!!!!!
Yay!!! I'm so glad it worked for you. When I tried it on this wind spinner, I really didn't think any would come up b/c I really didn't think there was any plastic on it!!! Thanks so much for watching!
I made my first last night and I really didn't think there was a plastic coating on it, I'm going to have to try this tomorrow!
what side was your print?
It came in as 10.3 inches by 10.5 inches. For the spinners I have, I would increase it by about a quarter of an inch if I were to use this one again.
When I did mine, the first I looked beautiful and then I did the second side and the first side look like I’ve melted it off
Oh no!!!! CrystalAnn has done both sides at once, which might work better for you. I didn't have your experience and I'm sorry you did. That is so disappointing.
I redid the second side got a little bit off on it, but it looks beautiful now
@@debramahon5638 that's great! Glad it looks better now.
What kind of paper?
I used Koala brand paper on this. The link to it is in the video description but here it is for convenience. They have various sizes of paper. In this video, I used a large size due to the size of the print. amzn.to/3sl8Qjc
@@MakingwithMarilyn thank you!
Boa tarde 🌷 Sou fo Brasil. Como faço pra comprar? Vc vende os materiais?
I buy the blanks on Amazon, but I don't sell my crafts other than locally. Thank you so much for watching.
What's sublimination?
It's a wonderful process where you ink actually infuses into whatever you are putting it on. But it requires special ink and special blanks. I have a lot of videos on it if you want to check them out.
Cute
Thank you!
Did you mind sharing your print?
I don't mind at all. It is from Creative Fabrica. If you have a membership, the file is free. If you don't have a membership, I've also linked a free trial membership if you want to try it out. Creative Fabrica Trial Membership www.creativefabrica.com/promo/5862/0p454-FGHIJKLMNO/ref/1340608

Hi Sharon!
I get my spinners for 4.00 each.
Where did you get yours from?
@@deloresblake3490 got them from China and have had no problems.
Nice!
I just bought the 15000 so confused
Are you going to convert it to sublimation instead of using the ink that came with it? What in particular are you confused about?
No
